The DECKED Traction Mat is a padded, slip-resistant deck cover made by SeaDek for the full-size (vX) DECKED Drawer System, and it is an accessory for that system rather than a standalone bed mat: it needs a DECKED Drawer System to sit on and will not fit a bare truck bed. This full-size long version is cut for systems in trucks with a 6'4" to 6'9" bed.
The drawer system deck is ultra-durable HDPE, which is exactly why it can get slick when it is wet or dusty. Closed-cell EVA foam with a textured surface fixes that, holding coolers, cases, kennels and dogs in place, and it takes the sting out of kneeling or leaning on the deck when you are working in the bed. The full-size mat ships as two interlocking panels that puzzle together down the center of the deck, so one person can carry and place it. The pattern is a tan and brown digital camo.

Grip Where the Deck Is Slick The drawer system deck is smooth HDPE by design, which makes it easy to slide gear across and easy for gear to slide on its own. The textured EVA surface stops coolers, cases and dog crates from wandering on a rough road.
Padded, Not Just Textured Closed-cell EVA has real cushion in it, so knees, elbows and forearms have something better than hard plastic when you are crawling around the bed loading gear.
Made by SeaDek SeaDek builds the same closed-cell EVA decking used on boat decks, where wet and slippery is the normal condition. DECKED uses that material here for the same reason.
Cut to the Deck, Not to the Bed The outline is shaped to the full-size (vX) DECKED Drawer System deck, including the notched tabs and cutouts that clear the deck hardware, so it lands in one position and stays there.
Closed-Cell and Weather-Ready The foam is closed-cell, so it does not soak up water the way an open-cell pad would. Rain, snow and hose-downs run off rather than sitting in the material.

Do I need a DECKED Drawer System to use this mat?
Yes. The Traction Mat is a deck cover for the full-size (vX) DECKED Drawer System, not a bed liner or a standalone bed mat. It is cut to the shape of the drawer system deck and has nothing to sit on in an empty truck bed. If you do not own the drawer system, this part will not do anything for you.
Which size do I need?
This is the full-size long mat, for drawer systems in trucks with a 6'4" to 6'9" bed. DECKED makes four sizes across full-size and midsize systems. Match the mat to your truck's bed length, not to the truck's model name, because the same model is often sold in more than one bed length.
What is it actually made of?
Closed-cell EVA foam with a textured, slip-resistant top surface, made by SeaDek, the company that supplies the same material for boat decking. Closed-cell means it does not absorb water, so it drains and dries rather than holding it.
Does it come in one piece?
The full-size mat is two panels that interlock along a puzzle seam down the middle of the deck. Two panels are easier to handle alone and easier to ship than one very large sheet.
Will it hold a cooler or a dog crate in place?
That is the main reason it exists. The bare HDPE deck is smooth, and heavy items slide on it. The textured EVA surface adds grip so coolers, cases and kennels stay where you put them. It is grip, not a tie-down, so anything heavy still needs to be strapped.
Does a Traction Mat install manual come with it?
DECKED does not publish a printed instruction sheet for the Traction Mat, and we do not substitute another product's sheet, so you will not find a Resources tab on this page. DECKED covers the install in the video embedded above: clean the deck, dry it, and lay the mat down.

Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
