Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Will it fit my trailer?

It fits most straight-tongue and A-frame trailers, but it is a universal box, so measure first. You need 34.75" of tongue length available, 17" of width, and an A-frame angle the V can sit down into. Check the coupler, the jack handle and the safety chains all still work freely with the box in place.

What hardware do I need?

None comes in the carton, because tongue rails vary too much. UWS recommends a minimum of two square 3/8" U-bolts with nuts and washers, sized to your tongue. Drill from the underside so the burr ends up outside the box rather than inside it.

Can I use it on a boat trailer?

Yes, UWS lists boat trailers specifically. It is a sensible choice there because the box is aluminum and the handles are stainless, so a dunking at the ramp is not the problem it would be with a steel box.

How much does it actually hold?

4.1ft³, which is enough for a full chain and binder set, straps, a wheel chock and the spares you want to keep dry. The tub tapers with the tongue, so the usable space is at the wide back end.

Is it lockable?

Yes, stainless steel paddle handles with keyed locks, and two keys are included. Stainless is the right choice on a trailer that gets rained on and salted, and it is why the handles still work in year five.

What does the warranty cover?

A limited lifetime warranty on workmanship and materials, one year on the finish and one year on parts. Handles, struts, gaskets and keys are cataloged UWS service parts if you need one later.
