Features
Patented RigidCore Foam-Filled Lid UWS fills the lid with a solid foam core instead of leaving it hollow. That is what stops a long lid from flexing in the middle, binding in its own opening or drumming as you drive. On a 34.75" lid this is the difference between a box that still latches cleanly after a few years and one that has to be pushed down to catch.
Fits Straight-Tongue and A-Frame Trailers The base is shaped to sit on a straight tongue or across an A-frame, which covers most utility, equipment and boat trailers on the road.
Low Profile Clears Trailer Hardware The reduced height leaves room above the box for a hand winch, jack or coupler handle on the trailer tongue, which is exactly where a full-height box normally fouls.
Stainless Steel Lock Handle The lock handle is stainless steel, not plated pot metal, so it keeps working after a few winters of salt and do not seize or bloom with rust. The handle locks with the supplied keys.
Extra-Thick 0.058" One-Piece Aluminum Tub The tub is formed from a single piece of 0.058" aluminum rather than welded up from thinner panels, so there are fewer seams to leak or split and the box keeps its shape when it is loaded with heavy hand tools, cordless kits and chain. Aluminum also means it will not rust out from the inside the way a painted steel box does once the coating is chipped, which matters on a box that lives outdoors and gets road salt thrown at it every winter.

Set the box on the tongue, confirm it clears the coupler, jack handle, winch post and safety chains, then mark through and bolt down. Keep the fasteners clear of the coupler mechanism and re-check them after the first towed trip, because a tongue box sees more vibration than a bed box.

What are the actual dimensions, and will it fit my truck?
The box is 34.75" long, 17" deep and 13" tall overall, and it holds 2.9ft³. Measure the flat space you have available before ordering.
Is the mounting hardware included?
No, and that is deliberate on UWS's part: trailer tongues vary too much for one kit to fit. You get the box and 2 keys. UWS recommends a minimum of two square 3/8" U-bolts with nuts and washers, sized to your tongue.
What is the difference between this and the standard UWS part?
Nothing about the box itself. UWS states that this part is identical to #TBV-34-LP-BLK, with the only difference being that it is heavily packaged so it can travel by parcel carrier rather than by freight. You get the same box, the same warranty and, usually, a faster and cheaper delivery.
How well does it keep water out?
A MicroSeal gasket runs the full perimeter of the opening and compresses as the lid closes. No tool box is a submarine, and a box that is pressure washed straight at the seam or parked nose-down in standing water can still take some in, but in normal service it stays dry inside. Keep the gasket clean and it will keep sealing.
What is the finish, and how does it hold up?
Gloss Black powder coat over aluminum diamond plate. Powder coat is far tougher than wet paint and, because the substrate underneath is aluminum, a chip does not start rust the way it would on a steel box. The gloss finish keeps a wet look and cleans up easily. The finish carries a one-year warranty; the box itself is covered for a limited lifetime.
Does the lid stay open on its own?
This model uses a twist latch and a manually lifted lid rather than a self-opening mechanism. The lid is the same RigidCore foam-filled construction, so it stays flat and does not bind.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
