Set the box on the rails and get it square and centered before you tighten anything. Hook each J-bolt under the lip of the bed rail, pass the threaded end up through the mounting flange on the box, fit the washer and nut, and draw it up snug. Snug, not brutal: overtightening a J-bolt can deform a thin bed rail lip. Re-check the nuts after your first few loaded trips, and again at the start of each season.
