This is the locking half of the pair of handles on a UWS crossover tool box, supplied as a genuine replacement in polished stainless steel. It is the complete assembly, not just a cylinder: the stainless mounting plate, the recessed pan, the chrome lever, the key lock and the latch linkage that reaches back into the door. Fit it when the original has been bent, corroded past saving, or forced in a break-in. Stainless is the right material here because this handle spends its whole life in the weather, and a plated steel replacement would be showing rust inside two seasons. Some rivet work is required, and one handle is included per package.
What's Included:
- One UWS locking pull handle assembly, polished stainless steel
- Integrated key lock cylinder with keys
- Latch linkage arms
Features
Polished Stainless Steel Construction
The mounting plate and pan are stainless, not plated steel, so the handle keeps its finish through road salt, wash chemicals and standing water. On a part that is bolted to the outside of a box and never maintained, material choice is the whole story.
Key-Operated Lock Built In
This is the locking handle of the pair. The lock cylinder is integrated into the handle body, and the key code is stamped on the face of the cylinder, so you can read your code off the part before ordering replacement keys later.
Complete Assembly With Latch Linkage
The handle ships with the linkage arms that transfer the pull into the latch mechanism, so you are replacing the whole working assembly rather than trying to reuse bent hardware off the old one.
Fits Any UWS Crossover With Pull Handles
Not tied to a box length or model year. If your crossover uses the recessed rectangular pull handles rather than paddle handles or Secure Lock twist handles, this is the locking one.
Sold Singly
One handle per package. A two-handle box takes this locking handle on one side and the 003-HDNL non-locking handle on the other.

Fit guidance: A UWS crossover with pull handles normally carries two: this locking handle on one side and the non-locking 003-HDNL on the other, tied together by a connecting rod so either side opens the lid. Replace only the one that is damaged. Fitting requires drilling out the original rivets and setting new ones, so budget for a rivet gun and the matching 3/16" rivets, which are sold separately as 003-RIVET-BLK in black or in plain finish.

Installation
Type: Rivet-in replacement of the handle assembly in the tool box door · Time: About 30 to 45 minutes · Tools: Drill with a bit sized to the rivet shank, rivet gun, 3/16" rivets, safety glasses, and a vacuum for the swarf · Difficulty: Intermediate, DIY-friendly with a rivet gun
Open the lid and support it before you begin. Drill out the rivets holding the old handle, disconnect the latch linkage inside the door and withdraw the assembly. Offer the new handle up and check the linkage reaches and moves freely through its whole travel before you commit to riveting. Set the new rivets, then cycle the handle and the lock a dozen times with the lid open to confirm the latch releases cleanly every time. Vacuum the drilling swarf out of the tub, because aluminum chips left in a box will stain it.

About UWS
UWS has been building aluminum truck storage since 1997 and is now part of the CURT Group under Lippert, alongside CURT towing products and Luverne steps. One of the practical benefits of that scale is a genuine service-parts program: UWS keeps handles, lock cylinders, keys, strikers and hardware on the shelf for boxes it sold years ago, so a damaged lockset or a lost key is a small parts order rather than a reason to buy a new tool box.
That is exactly what this part is for. UWS tool boxes are built around a small number of standard lock and handle systems, so the replacement you need is identified by the handle style your box uses and by the code on your lock, not by the year you bought the box. Matching the code is the whole job, and it is worth two minutes with a flashlight before you order, because a cylinder or key cut to a different code will not turn in your lock.
Prestige Truck is an authorized UWS dealer. This is a genuine UWS service part, not a generic aftermarket substitute, so it fits and operates the way the original hardware did.
