On a UWS crossover with two pull handles, only one of them carries a lock. This is the other one. It is the genuine polished stainless replacement for the non-locking handle, and it exists so you can open the box from whichever side of the truck you happen to be standing on without walking around to find the key. The assembly includes the stainless plate, the recessed pan, the chrome lever and the linkage arm that ties into the connecting rod inside the lid. Fit it when the original is bent or corroded. Some rivet installation is required, and one handle is included per package.
What's Included:
- One UWS non-locking pull handle assembly, polished stainless steel
- Latch linkage arm
Features
The Second Handle on a Two-Handle Box
UWS fits two handles to many of its crossovers and connects them with a rod, so the lid opens from either side of the bed. This is the non-locking one. Security comes from the locking handle on the opposite side, which holds the connecting rod.
Polished Stainless Steel
Same material and finish as the locking handle it pairs with, so the two sides of your box still match after a repair. Stainless holds up to salt and pressure washing in a way plated steel does not.
Ships With the Linkage Arm
The linkage arm comes attached, so you are fitting a complete working assembly rather than trying to straighten and reuse the arm off a damaged handle.
No Cylinder to Fail
With no lock barrel there is nothing here to seize, freeze or get drilled. If you are replacing this handle it is because it took a physical knock, not because the mechanism wore out.
Sold Singly
One handle per package. If both handles on your box need replacing, order this one and the locking 003-HDL together.
Fitment & Compatibility
| Application |

✓ Yes, this is the non-locking handle of the pair |
| The locking side of a two-handle box |
✗ No, order 003-HDL for that side |
| Single-handle UWS boxes |
✗ No, a single-handle box uses the locking handle 003-HDL |
| UWS Secure Lock or paddle-handle boxes |
✗ No, those use entirely different handle systems |
Fit guidance: This handle only makes sense as half of a pair. It has no lock, so a box fitted with two of these would not be securable. UWS's own description is explicit that the locking handle is also required. Fitting requires drilling out the original rivets and setting new 3/16" rivets, which are sold separately.

Installation
Type: Rivet-in replacement of the handle assembly in the tool box door · Time: About 30 to 45 minutes · Tools: Drill with a bit sized to the rivet shank, rivet gun, 3/16" rivets, safety glasses, and a vacuum for the swarf · Difficulty: Intermediate, DIY-friendly with a rivet gun
Open and support the lid. Drill out the old rivets, disconnect the linkage arm from the connecting rod inside the door and remove the handle. Offer up the new one and check the arm lines up with the rod through the full travel before riveting. Set the new rivets, reconnect the rod, then cycle both handles with the lid open and confirm each one releases the latch on its own. Vacuum the aluminum swarf out of the tub before you close it.

About UWS
UWS has been building aluminum truck storage since 1997 and is now part of the CURT Group under Lippert, alongside CURT towing products and Luverne steps. One of the practical benefits of that scale is a genuine service-parts program: UWS keeps handles, lock cylinders, keys, strikers and hardware on the shelf for boxes it sold years ago, so a damaged lockset or a lost key is a small parts order rather than a reason to buy a new tool box.
That is exactly what this part is for. UWS tool boxes are built around a small number of standard lock and handle systems, so the replacement you need is identified by the handle style your box uses and by the code on your lock, not by the year you bought the box. Matching the code is the whole job, and it is worth two minutes with a flashlight before you order, because a cylinder or key cut to a different code will not turn in your lock.
Prestige Truck is an authorized UWS dealer. This is a genuine UWS service part, not a generic aftermarket substitute, so it fits and operates the way the original hardware did.
