UWS specifies this stripping for its topside and underbody lines. The crossover boxes use a different gasket foam, part UWS-125FOAM.
Water-Resistant and Non-Absorbent
Closed-cell foam resists water intrusion instead of absorbing it and holding it against the door, which is what keeps the box dry and stops the seal rotting from the inside.
A Consumable, Sold as One
Gasket foam takes a permanent set over the years and stops springing back. Renewing it is the cheapest repair on a tool box and the one that most often restores a dry box.

Strip the old foam, clean the channel properly so the new stripping bonds, and lay the new length in without stretching it. Stretched foam retracts from the corners and that is where the water gets in.
