UWS Secure Lock Low Profile Crossover Tool Box Tour

A second UWS tour, this one filmed on a low-profile Secure Lock box on a Ford Super Duty. Useful for seeing how far a low-profile lid sits below the line of sight through the rear window. The truck in the video is illustrative, not a fitment claim.

Secure Lock Crossover Truck Tool Box

A short UWS feature piece on the Secure Lock range covering the dual locking twist handles and the interior rod enclosure that protects the lock linkage from prying.

How To Measure Your Truck Bed For A Crossover Tool Box

Watch this before you order. UWS shows exactly where to put the tape to get the rail-to-rail measurement that decides whether a crossover box fits, which is the measurement to compare against this box's overall length.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Will the EC11021 fit my truck?

Measure the outside-to-outside width across your bed rails just behind the cab and compare it with this box's 64" overall length. The mounting flanges rest on the rails, so you want a rail span a little under 64". The tub is 53" long and 17" wide and has to drop cleanly between the inner rail walls. As a rough guide, 64" suits mid-size trucks and some full-size beds. We do not publish year, make and model fitment for these boxes, so measure rather than assume.

How much does the EC11021 actually hold?

7ft³. The usable tub is 53" x 17" x 11.75", which is the measurement to check your longest tool or your tool case against. That figure is UWS's own published capacity for this exact model.

Do I have to drill my truck to fit it?

No. The box sits on two supplied rail pads on your bed rails and clamps down with two 3" J-hooks that hook under the rail lip, secured with the supplied washers and nuts. No holes, no cutting, and it comes off again cleanly if you sell the truck. Budget about 20 to 30 minutes and get a second person to help lift it in.

How does it lock, and can I open it from either side?

It uses two key-operated Secure Lock twist handles, and two keys are supplied. The handles are joined by a connecting rod that runs inside the box, so you can lock, unlock and open it from the driver's side or the passenger's side without walking around the truck, and the rod is not reachable from outside.

What is the difference between the EC11021 and the freight-shipped version?

Packaging, not product. UWS builds the EC series as the same box in heavier protective packaging so it can travel by parcel carrier instead of on a freight pallet. For you it means doorstep delivery instead of a freight terminal, and no delivery appointment to wait in for.

How does the bright aluminum finish hold up?

Well, and it is the easiest of the three UWS finishes to live with. There is no paint layer to chip, so a scuff stays cosmetic instead of turning into a rust spot, and UWS's own care guidance is that polish will clear small scratches and scuffs. Aluminum does not rust, so road salt takes the shine off long before it does any structural harm.
