Features
Dual-Locking Secure Lock Handles Secure Lock twist handles lock on both sides of the box and are joined by a connecting rod, so it opens from either side and locks from either side. They sit almost flush in the front panel, which is what lets the box live under a tonneau cover without fouling it.
Connecting Rod for Either-Side Operation The two handles are tied together by an internal rod, so the box opens from the driver side or the passenger side without walking around the truck. On a wide bed that is the difference between grabbing a tool and climbing up into the bed to get it.
Enclosed Lock Rod The connecting rod runs inside an enclosure rather than exposed across the back of the tub. Loose cargo cannot fall against it and bend it, which is the usual reason a two-handle box eventually stops opening from one side.
Widespread Handles The handles are set wide apart toward the ends of the box so they fall to hand from beside the bed rail, instead of forcing you to lean across the bed to reach a center latch.
Removable BedRug Liner A moulded BedRug liner drops into the tub to stop tools sliding around, deaden the noise of loose steel on aluminum, and keep dust down. It lifts straight out when you want to hose the box or the liner.
MicroSeal Weather Gasket A MicroSeal gasket runs the full perimeter of the opening and compresses as the lid closes, sealing out rain, road spray, dust and the fine grit that ruins bearings and fastener threads. It is the part of a tool box most owners only think about after they have found standing water inside a cheaper one.
Self-Closing Lid The lid opens a full 90 degrees for loading and then self-closes, so the box can be worked one-handed. Combined with the connecting rod between the handles it means you can open, load and shut the box from whichever side of the truck you happen to be standing on.
Tool Trays and Screwdriver Holders Moulded tool trays and built-in screwdriver holders come as part of the box, so the things you reach for constantly have a home instead of ending up loose in the bottom.

Set the box across the bed rails behind the cab, check the lid clears the rear window and any cab guard through its full travel, then clamp it down with the supplied hardware. Most crossover boxes clamp to the underside of the bed rail rather than bolting through, so no drilling of the truck is normally needed.

What are the actual dimensions, and will it fit my truck?
The box is 73" long, 20" deep and 14.5" tall overall, and it holds 8.6ft³. The usable tub inside measures 62" x 17" x 11.75". Measure your bed rail to rail, outside to outside, because a crossover box spans the rails rather than sitting in the bed.
Is the mounting hardware included?
Yes. UWS's parts list for this box is the box, 2 keys, 2 rail pads, 2 3" J-hooks, 2 1/4" washers and 2 1/4" nuts, which is everything needed to clamp it to the bed rails. Some models also include a divider tray. No drilling of the truck is normally required.
What is the difference between this and the standard UWS part?
Nothing about the box itself. UWS states that this part is identical to #SL-72-LP-MB, with the only difference being that it is heavily packaged so it can travel by parcel carrier rather than by freight. You get the same box, the same warranty and, usually, a faster and cheaper delivery.
How well does it keep water out?
A MicroSeal gasket runs the full perimeter of the opening and compresses as the lid closes. No tool box is a submarine, and a box that is pressure washed straight at the seam or parked nose-down in standing water can still take some in, but in normal service it stays dry inside. Keep the gasket clean and it will keep sealing.
What is the finish, and how does it hold up?
Matte Black powder coat over aluminum diamond plate. Powder coat is far tougher than wet paint and, because the substrate underneath is aluminum, a chip does not start rust the way it would on a steel box. The matte finish is flat and non-reflective, so it hides marks better than gloss and suits a blacked-out truck. The finish carries a one-year warranty; the box itself is covered for a limited lifetime.
Does the lid stay open on its own?
This model uses a twist latch and a manually lifted lid rather than a self-opening mechanism. The lid is the same RigidCore foam-filled construction, so it stays flat and does not bind.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
