Set your own ride height

ICON 2.5 Series coilovers arrive at the ride height ICON recommends, and the threaded spring perch lets you raise or lower the vehicle within the range listed for it. That makes it simple to level the stance or clear a larger tire. The guide for each vehicle sets the maximum preload to keep ride quality intact.

ICON explains what its CDC Valve does and how to set the compression adjuster for your vehicle and driving style.

More piston, better control

The 2.5" body gives more piston area than factory dampers, and ICON valves each application for a sport-tuned feel on pavement with composure over rough ground. Remote reservoir versions add oil volume and cooling to keep damping consistent on long runs.

Adjusters for every driver

Many applications offer CDCV with 10 compression settings on a knob, CDXS with separate high-speed and low-speed compression knobs, or CDEV for electronic adjustment from the cab. Fixed-valve versions keep ICON's own tune with nothing to set.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

How much lift do these coilovers give?

It depends on the vehicle. Each part lists its adjustable range in the Lift option, and ICON rates those heights for a stock-equipped vehicle. Added weight from a bumper or winch can lower where the vehicle sits within the range.

Do I need an alignment after installing them?

Yes, after front coilovers. Changing front ride height changes the suspension geometry, and ICON's guides call for a professional alignment. Retorque all hardware after the first 100 miles too.

Do I need new upper control arms?

On some vehicles, above a certain lift height, and on extended-travel versions. ICON lists the requirement in the notes for each vehicle, for example where lifting beyond about 2" calls for ICON upper control arms.

CDCV, CDXS or CDEV: what is the difference?

CDCV adds a knob with 10 compression settings. CDXS gives separate high-speed and low-speed compression knobs with 10 settings each. CDEV adjusts compression electronically through ICON Intelligent Control, which needs its IIC module and the matching CDEV parts listed for your vehicle.

When should I choose the 700 lb/in or heavy-rate springs?

Only when the front of the vehicle carries added weight, such as a steel bumper and winch. ICON recommends the 700 lb/in rate only when extra weight sits on the front end; on a stock front end the standard spring rides better.

What warranty comes with the coilovers?

The shock in each coilover carries ICON's shock absorber warranty: 1 year against manufacturer's defects for the original purchaser, with the shock sent to ICON for inspection. Racing use and improper installation are excluded.
