Features

  • One-Hand Locking Handle: Unlock it with the key, release the built-in thumb lock, then turn the handle: the Elite opens with one hand. Locked, the handle keeps the lid and, because the lid wraps the tailgate, the tailgate shut.
  • Latches Pull It Down Snug: Latches at the rear catch the lock strikes as the lid closes. UnderCover's sheet has you set them for about 1/8" of play, so the lid sits down tight on its double EPDM seal.
  • Removable LED Dome Light: The LED dome light under the lid lights the bed, and it unclips. UnderCover makes it magnetic with a retractable hook, so you can hang it under the hood or on the body for a roadside repair. A pull strap sits beside it.
  • Clamp-On Hinge, No Drilling: The 4-bar hinge drops onto front brackets that clamp to the bed rails, with no drilling. A spray-in liner is fine; a plastic drop-in liner may need minor trimming where the brackets sit. You will want a helper to set the lid.
  • Gas Struts Hold It Open: Two gas-charged struts take the weight of the lid and hold it open while you load. They snap onto ball studs by hand, so taking the lid off for a tall load needs no tools.
  • Release Handle Inside the Bed: A release handle on a cable hangs under the lid, next to the light and pull strap, so the latch can be opened from inside the bed.

The UnderCover Elite is a one-piece hard tonneau cover for the 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra with the 5'7" bed and the factory deck rail system. UnderCover lists this bed as 5'7"; it measures about 66.7" long, and Toyota sells it as the 5.5-foot bed. This part is for trucks with the factory deck rail system. It works with the factory cargo management system.

Not for: the 2022-2026 Tundra 6'7" bed with the factory deck rail system and without the Trail Special Edition package (UC4168); the 2014-2021 Tundra 5'7" bed without the Trail Special Edition package (UC4118). Those are separate UnderCover Elite parts.

Will this fit my 2022-2026 Tundra?

Yes, if it has the 5'7" bed and is built with the factory deck rail system. It works with the factory cargo management system. Measure inside the bed from the bulkhead to the closed tailgate: this box is about 66.7". If yours is different, look at the 2022-2026 Tundra 6'7" bed with the factory deck rail system and without the Trail Special Edition package (UC4168). Not sure? Send us your VIN and we'll confirm.

Does my truck need the factory deck rails?

Yes. This version mounts to the factory deck rail system, using the hardware in the kit. Check that your bed has the rails before you order.

How much weight can the Elite carry?

UnderCover rates the closed Elite at 500 lb, spread evenly across the lid. It is a rating for weight laid flat across the cover, not for standing on it or stacking it in one spot.

Will my tailgate open with the cover closed?

No. The Elite's wrap-around edges lap over the tailgate, so a closed, locked lid keeps it shut. Unlock the handle, lift the lid on its struts, then lower the tailgate.

Is it waterproof?

UnderCover fits an EPDM double-bulb seal and says the wrap-around edges keep dirt and moisture out. No tonneau cover is airtight, though, so treat it as weather-resistant and keep anything that must stay dry in a sealed box.

What's the difference between the Elite and the Elite LX?

They share the 500 lb rating, the one-hand handle and the LED light. The Elite has a textured black finish and a 3-year limited warranty. The Elite LX is painted to your truck's paint code, has a carpeted headliner and carries a limited lifetime warranty on the structure and factory paint.

Here's the short version. Follow UnderCover's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact positions and measurements.

  1. Prep the bed. UnderCover designs these covers for beds without a liner; a spray-in liner is no problem. A plastic drop-in liner needs minor trimming where the brackets sit: trim the liner, never the UnderCover hardware. Remove the Deck Rail end caps, slide the tie-down cleats toward the middle of the rail and slide in the square nut plates.
  2. Fit the rear brackets. Clamp one to each bed rail near the tailgate, 40 1/4" from the back side of the bulkhead to the front edge of the bracket. Use two clamps per bracket: hole 1 and the hole nearest the tailgate that the bed doesn't block. Don't overtighten and bend the brackets. On a deck-rail bed, the brackets fasten through the 1" bolts and washers into the square nut plates.
  3. Fit the front brackets. Clamp one to each bed rail near the bulkhead, 18 1/4" from the back side of the bulkhead to the end of the bracket. Use two clamps each: hole 1 and hole 3 (hole 2 if the bed blocks hole 3). This number sets how the cover fits, so treat it as a starting point; not every bed is perfectly square.
  4. Set the cover. With a helper, lay the cover on the bed and slide the slots in its 4-bar hinges over the posts on the front brackets. Push it forward to lock the hinges, lift the rear and tighten the twist knobs on both hinges. Snap the struts on, large end to the cover and rod end to the ball stud; no tools needed.
  5. Check the fit. Close the cover and make sure it doesn't touch the bed sides or the tailgate: aim for a gap of 1/8" to 1/4". Move both front brackets forward or back to shift the cover evenly, or one at a time to square it. The front flap must hang over the bulkhead.
  6. Adjust the latches. Move the lock strikes up or down so that, with the tailgate down, the closed cover has about 1/8" (3 mm) of up-and-down play; tighten to 8.5 ft-lb (100 in-lb). If a latch needs to move side to side, loosen its two mounting bolts, adjust it and retighten to the same torque.

    UnderCover warrants the Elite structure against defects in material and workmanship for 3 years from the retail purchase date.
    • The gas lift struts and the mounting hardware are covered for 1 year from purchase.
    • Covers the original buyer only, on the original truck and installation, when bought from an authorized UnderCover dealer. It can't be transferred.
    • To keep it valid: never drive with the lid open or tie it down while it is open (that strains the front hinges, and a cracked hinge from it is not a defect); take the lid off and store it when you haul anything taller than the bed; keep it locked with the tailgate closed whenever it is shut, so a gust can't pop it open; clean it with mild car wash soap and only products labeled safe for plastics, and keep bug spray and other chemicals off it.
    • Check the truck now and then for rubbing. If you see any, take the cover off and contact us; a bracket adjustment may be needed. Paint damage to the truck itself is not covered, so a clear protective film on the bed rails is worth considering.

Undercover Elite 2026 Super Duty Tremor

This cover has been around a long time, but there is a reason: It works. The waterproofing is second to none, and it’s easy to take off for full bed access. It’s not paw-paw as some tried to tell me before I bought it. It’s functional for the intended purpose. It keeps contents dry and secure. There is no way flush mount covers keep the water out like this thing. If it had t-slots for rails, it would be even better.

My truck needed spacers on the brackets. Diagram provided was not real clear where and how to place them. Also, to make the cover fit I had to move the left bracket. Also, the right rod lock was too long and would not engage the bracket. I had to grind it down as it was too long. Otherwise it fits okay after these adjustments. Over all fairly easy to install for one person. Lifting it onto the truck bed rails was a challenge for one person.

Easy To Install & Beautiful

My last Ranger had a factory tonneau cover that opened from front and rear and was basically two doors. I liked that setup but none are made like that anymore. I bought this cover because of the looks and the security it provides. It has a black pebble finish that I really like and that is easy to care for. The cover came well packaged in a heavy cardboard box with no damage. Unpacking was as easy as cutting the strapping and all the parts were packaged in the same box. The one thing I think should be included and was not was a installation sheet. I looked and looked online and could not find the measurements on where to install the front and rear brackets. No measurements were given in the box. I ended up calling the manufacturer to get the placement. Installing the brackets is easy, they just clamp onto the lip of the bed. Best Bed Cover Period

This is my third Undercover bed cover. You'd think maybe that's a bad thing, but I'm talking about 3 different trucks over the course of 15 years. I have had tri-fold covers, rolling aluminum covers, etc... I got tired of the seals cracking, the water leaks, the latches failing, etc... Switched to an Undercover SE for an older truck around 2008 and never went back. These are the best covers, period. I just purchased a different truck and this cover was an easy decision for me, I have not only done the research, but also have real world experience with 3 other tonneau brands and types... none compare.

It’s just okay

Box came destroyed, covered in grime with holes and tears in the cardboard. Plastic straps were pulled through cardboard. Instruction had hand drawings versus… I dont know, photos. It’s 2024 people, let’s get it together. I can see why people pay a little more and get a cap for their truck now. You lose a lot of versatility as a truck owner by owning this. I understand if you’re retired and don’t use your truck as a truck. But overall I could do without it. The only advantage would be possibly the increased gas mileage from the reduction of wind drag on the tailgate. Realistically, the sensible thing to do would be to have no cover or a truck cap. At least the cap you can still stack odd shaped boxes or taller boxes in your bed with this you’re extremely limited to boxes that are taller being at the tailgate of the bed. That’s only if you’re willing to drive down the road with the bed…

Easy Use/Easy Attach

The cover was very easy to attach to the truck. It took less than 2 hours once I figured out what to do. The only issue I had was that it does not come with instructions. I had to search for a YouTube video for my vehicle. Once found—easy peasy!!!! I do suggest having a second person with you when it comes to putting the cover on your bed as the thing is heavy and bulky. It’s possible with one person, but is much harder (HINT: Get a second person to help lift into your truck). Has done very well for me and what I was expecting. Overall, very happy with the purchase. It looks great, has helped gas mileage, easy care, and protects things I carry in the bed of my truck from the weather.

Very impressive

I am quite impressed with my cover. It was pretty easy to install and it's of very high quality. I looking at both the UnderCover SE and UnderCover Elite. I decided to go with the Elite because I preferred the placement of the lock as well as the general shape. I have to say I was skeptical of the light and the Lanyard. I am glad that I got the elite and love the light and the lanyard. It's very durable and looks amazing. I would absolutely get the tailgate seal to go with it though. While driving thru a really heavy snow storm, snow was able to blow in which later melted. Other than that, this is an amazing product.

What a great bed cover!

I love my truck hero bed cover! I bought it over two months ago and I'm really impressed with it! Day to day it keeps out the rain, secures our purchases/luggage and hauling large things is no problem with the ease of detachment and reinstall. It comes with a grab bar that is stored on the underside of the cover and a handheld led flashlight also located on the underside. I've already found these 2 items very useful in the short amount of time I've owned this cover. I like how it lays just beyond the length of the truck and the sides so there's no friction marks left from rubbing while in motion. The only complaint I have is minor; sometimes when I turn the key knob to the unlocked position and go to lift up on the cover I have to jerk the cover to the left or right to loosen it's hold underneath. It's not caught on anything exterior but rather something inside. I think, on the rubber…

No Leaks, Great Price, and Super Easy Install

This is our 5th UnderCover one-piece hard tonneau cover for our Chevy, Toyota, and RAM's. They never leak, protect against theft, and are extremely durable. Just wish they would make one for the Santa Cruz. . . !!!

Good quality cover

A perfect fit for the bed of my truck. Shipping was quick, and the item was well packaged. Installation wasn't too difficult, I had watched some videos in advance, and that along with the instructions meant there were no surprises. The majority of the install can be done by one person, but I would recommend having someone help when you lift the cover into position. Don't be surprised if you have to make a few minor adjustments, but it doesn't take long to get it right. Quality of the cover is top class, and the truck bed has remained dry since it was fitted. Sure this cover costs more than most, but you get what you pay for, I am confident this cover will last the lifetime of the truck.

Installation instructions were a little

Installation instructions were a little vague, front brackets spacing directions were off by an inch. and the lock rods are not spaced right, The right rod was a half inch to long and the left rod was half inch too short. Loved the ign key lock assembly. Unit works very good and is water tight.

Good instructions, easy installation and excellent fit. The keying to the factory key was very simple and much better than requiring a separate unique key. I have only had it for a few weeks so I have no comment on longevity. Looks great on a white truck with black trim...

Awesome Tonneau Cover!

Just received and installed this tonneau cover today. Very simple, easy to follow installation directions and it only takes about 30 minutes. Love this product and it looks great! Quality product

This is the second Undercover cover I've owned. I'm a believer. There are a lot of covers out there but these are some of the better looking covers out there. All covers will have parts wear out over the years and this top is no exception. Parts are easy to replace and reasonably priced. I would recommend this cover to anyone interested in a quality product.

Functional, easy to install, blocks tailgate from opening first.

Fits great, looks good, works fine. But there needs to be some forewarning that you must open the cover first before you can open the tailgate! My wife wants me to return it just for this reason.

Nice but not square?

I don't know if it is my brand new truck or the cover but we had to fudge it by removing padding on one side and cant it to make it not rub on paint and have close to equal gaps on both sides. Near the rear window you can visibly tell we had to install it canted. It is good enough but I expected a better fit. Like I said, truck or cover I do not know. I wish they had put the light NOT underneath the grab bar as you have to remove this to get to light. Maybe they did it to help keep it from falling out?

Undercover bed cover

Cover showed up in a very loose box. Installed and it looks great ...BUT...... I go to the final step to lock the cover down and nothing happens. I look underneath cover to see what is wrong and realize how poorly made the lock design is. Everything for lock comes down to a cheap thin plastic tube joining the lock to the locking arms. I called and was sent parts promptly. After about an hour in the freezing cold I was able to get the old one off and new one on. The lock is still an issue. VERY difficult to lock. I adjusted the locking clips like the directions said but still no good. I believe the cover was designed to go on bare metal side rails. my new ram has a plastic cover over the entire bed side rails and bed door. I called and wanted to return this cover and was told they didn't know how to return a large, freight shipped item removed from its box. What a shame the most…

Quite pleased

This is a really quality cover. Went on '17 Tacoma. Installation was done in just a little over an hour with me and a friend. Wasn't a cake walk but as long as your fairly handy, installation shouldn't be too much of a problem. I've had it just over a month and have loved it. Been through lots and lots of rain and so far no leaking. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cover, I would buy it again quickly.

Waterproof!

We installed the lid on Friday, packed up the truck and did a 14 hour road trip over the next two days in torrential rain. All our gear stayed dry on the drive. The only issue we had was when we opened the cover and water ran off of it onto some of our stuff. Pleased overall with the cover and its performance.

Undercover Elite Partial Review

The cover took a month to arrive so it hasn't been installed yet. I wish the order and delivery process was more straight forward. The cover seemed to arrive undamaged and ready to go. I'm looking forward to getting it on my truck.
