Locked bed, full bed length

Interlocking aluminum slats lock the bed with a patented level-2 system and up to six latches, then roll forward to the cab so nothing is given up to a canister. The whole box stays usable and the rear window stays clear.

Locked down and sealed against weather

Interlocking aluminum slats carry the load and a five-layer canvas skin sheds water, so cargo stays dry and locked away whether the truck sits overnight or runs all day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

What is the difference between the Sentry and the Sentry CT?

The structure underneath is the same on both: interlocking aluminum slats, the same 400 lb evenly distributed load rating, the same level-2 locking system with a tension cable and up to six automatic latches. The difference is the surface and the warranty. The Sentry is finished in DualShield leather-grain vinyl with a blackout aluminum finish and carries three years. The Sentry CT uses TruXedo's RTxTechWeave canvas, which resists nicks and cuts better and keeps a cleaner appearance, and carries five years on both the hard parts and the fabric.

Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?

It sheds weather well, and sealing is the single thing owners ask about most often. The RTxTechWeave surface is one piece with no seams running across it, and the side rails sit flush to the bed with their own seals, which is why TruXedo describes it as the most leak-resistant design in its range. Even so, a heavy downpour or a pressure wash will usually find a little moisture past the tailgate, as it will on any roll-up cover. TruXedo publishes no impermeability claim for it and neither do we.

How much weight can I put on top of it?

400 lb, evenly distributed. That figure is TruXedo's own and it applies because the Sentry CT is built on interlocking aluminum slats rather than fabric stretched over bows. Evenly distributed is the part that matters. Spread a load across several slats; do not rest one heavy item on a single point, and do not tie cargo to the cover's frame, which TruXedo lists as a warranty condition.

Can I drive with it rolled open?

Yes, and this is one of the real advantages of a roll-up over a folding cover. Roll it forward to the cab and clip both integrated straps before you move off. Rolled and strapped it sits low enough to leave your rear visibility clear. What you must not do is drive with it part-way open and unstrapped, which is how owners end up with a cover flapping at the tailgate, and it is excluded from the warranty.

How secure is it compared with a soft cover?

Meaningfully more secure. The slats are aluminum, so the surface cannot simply be cut through the way a vinyl or canvas soft cover can, and the Sentry CT closes on as many as six self-engaging latches, backed by a tension cable and TruXedo's patented level-2 lock. TruXedo's soft covers latch but do not lock. It is not a safe and no tonneau cover is, but it removes the easy opportunity and it is the reason most people step up to this cover.

Do I have to drill into my truck to install it?

No. The rails arrive cut for your specific truck and bed and are self-leveling, so they clamp to the inner lip of the bed rail with nothing cut, drilled or permanently altered. Most people have it on in under 30 minutes with ordinary hand tools. Select your vehicle above and the installation guide for your exact application is linked on that page.
