The long box on the current Tundra is a large, flat and expensive surface to leave bare. Automatic dual slam latches lock each panel as it comes down, and a single cable pull from either side of the tailgate releases them again, with no external lock sitting on the outside for anyone to work at. The panels are multi-layer aircraft-grade aluminum in a fade-resistant matte black, rated to carry 300 lb spread evenly across the closed cover, and it clamps on in half an hour. This is part SL44018, the Select built for the 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra with the 6'7" (78.7") bed.
UnderCover includes its cargo retriever with the Select, with storage hooks so it stows in the bed.
Features
Automatic Dual Slam Latches Push the cover down and dual slam latches lock it, with no manual clamps to work along the bed rail and nothing to remember on the way out. It is the difference between closing a tailgate and performing a small ritual every time you finish loading.
One Cable Pull From Either Side A single cable pull releases the latches, and there is one at each side of the tailgate, so it opens from whichever side you happen to be standing on. No walking around the truck to find the handle in the rain.
No External Locks to Tempt Anyone UnderCover builds the Select with no tamper-susceptible external locks or latches on the outside of the cover. There is no cylinder to drill and no handle to lever, and the release cables sit inside the bed, so a locked tailgate closes the whole bed.
Multi-Layer Aircraft-Grade Aluminum The panels are a rock-solid multi-layer build in heavy-duty aircraft-grade aluminum, rated to carry up to 300 lb spread evenly across the closed cover. That covers a winter's snow load or flat sheet goods, provided the weight is distributed rather than parked on one panel.
A Matte Black Finish Built to Hold Its Color The aluminum panels are treated in matte black to sit with the truck's own trim, and the coating is specified to resist fading. It is not the textured coating UnderCover puts on its top folding cover, and it is not sold as one.
Two Thirds Open, and You Can Drive It Fold the panels forward for two thirds of the bed and secure the stack on the integrated clips, and the truck is safe to drive with cargo too tall for a closed cover. Nothing has to come off the truck and nothing needs storing in the garage.
Thirty Minutes, Nothing Drilled to Mount It UnderCover rates the Select a Level 1 install at 30 minutes or less. A vehicle-specific mounting kit locates the side rails on your bed and the clamps do the rest, with no hole made in the truck to mount the cover on any application.
Three-Year Limited Warranty Structure, hinges, seals and hardware are all covered for three years from the date of purchase. Wash it with mild automotive soap and water, keep solvents and insect repellents off the rubber, and the terms are straightforward.

Installation
Type: Clamp-on side rails on a vehicle-specific mounting kit, nothing drilled into the truck to mount the cover · Time: 30 minutes or less · Tools: Scissors or utility knife, Isopropyl alcohol, 1/2" Wrench or socket, Phillips screwdriver, 5/8" Drill bit & drill, T-30 Torx driver, 3/8" drive short extension, Ratchet · Difficulty: Level 1: Simple installation
A vehicle-specific mounting kit locates the side rails on your bed, the rails clamp to the inside of your bed rails with the hardware in the box, and the cover sits on the rails. Set the rails square to the bed rails, at 90 degrees, before you tighten anything. UnderCover prints that warning in capitals because the rear latch has nothing to catch on otherwise, and a latch that will not close is nearly always a rail that is out of square.
The drain tubes on this truck run through a 5/8" hole you drill in the rubber plug in the bulkhead on each side. Nothing is drilled to hold the cover on, and the install sheet below marks the spot.
Side-rail clamp bolts, with a 1/2" wrench or socket: 10 ft-lb
Warranty. UnderCover covers the Select with a three (3) year limited warranty from the original date of purchase, on the structure and on the hinges, seals and hardware alike. Four conditions in the terms catch people out more than the rest. The cover must be free of all foreign materials, including snow and ice, before you open it. It must be secured at all points whenever the vehicle is moving. It has to come off the truck before the truck is towed from the rear. And every clamp and retention mechanism wants checking for tightness about a week after installation and periodically after that. Washing is mild automotive soap and water only, since abrasive cleaners dull the finish and insect repellents, oils, solvents and lubricants can attack the rubber hinges and seals, which voids the warranty. The terms also exclude neglect, improper installation, modification of the mounting hardware, alterations, added equipment, abuse, accident, weather damage and normal wear, and they do not cover paint damage to the truck. Repair or replacement is at UnderCover's discretion and transport costs are not covered. Free shipping. This cover ships free within the contiguous United States as an oversized package rather than a freight shipment. Inspect on delivery. The carton is long, flat and light for its size, and the corners are what take the knocks in transit. Give it a proper look before you sign for it, and if the box arrives crushed, split or soaked, note that on the delivery paperwork and tell us the same day so a replacement can start moving.
About UnderCover
UnderCover is part of the RealTruck group of truck accessory brands and builds hard folding and one-piece bed covers for full-size and mid-size pickups. Its hard folding covers are assembled in the USA, in Missouri. The Select is covered by a three year limited warranty on the cover, dated from the original purchase, and warranty registration and replacement parts are handled by the manufacturer.
Select is the entry point to UnderCover's hard folding range and the most straightforward cover in it. Automatic dual slam latches lock it as it closes and a single cable pull releases them. It opens two thirds of the bed on integrated clips, is rated to drive folded, and installation is quoted at 30 minutes or less. It is also the one cover in the folding range rated to 300 lb rather than 400 lb, which is the trade for the price. Flex is the next step up and the only gloss black cover UnderCover makes. Ultra Flex adds the patented rail and clamp mechanism, slam latches on every panel and a five year term. ArmorFlex tops the range with its Multi-Shield coated face. The one-piece covers are a different format altogether, raising a single rigid lid: Elite and SE in matte black, Elite LX and LUX unpainted or painted to an OEM paint code.
The Select is the simplest build in the folding range, and the specification is honest about it. Rock-solid multi-layer construction in heavy-duty aircraft-grade aluminum is rated to 300 lb evenly distributed, rather than the 400 lb the other three carry. Flush-fitting side seals close the perimeter and integrated drain rails carry water out of the bed. It clamps on with a vehicle-specific mounting kit, nothing drilled into the truck, under a durable fade-resistant matte black coating.
Prestige Truck is an authorized UnderCover dealer. Every cover we ship is new, in the factory carton, and covered by UnderCover's warranty direct from the manufacturer.

Fewer parts, fewer things to fail
The Select is the plainest cover UnderCover builds, and that is the point of it. There is no specialty coating on the panel face and nothing on the outside to lose: multi-layer aircraft-grade aluminum, a fade-resistant matte black finish, automatic dual slam latches that lock as each panel comes down, and a single cable pull at either side of the tailgate to release them. The trade for the price is honest and worth knowing before you buy. It is rated to 300 lb evenly distributed where every other cover in the folding range carries 400 lb, and its three year term is matched only by the Flex, with the two covers at the top of the range running to five. Everything else about how it fits, seals and opens is the same idea executed more simply.

Nothing on the outside to pick
The Select carries no external locks or latches at all, and UnderCover treats that as a security feature rather than an omission. There is no cylinder to drill, no handle to lever and nothing on the panel face that announces the cover can be opened. The dual slam latches engage automatically as the cover closes and the release cables sit inside the bed, so the whole thing is only reachable with the tailgate down. That makes the tailgate lock the part that matters: lock the tailgate and the bed is shut.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Will it keep my bed dry in heavy rain?
It keeps most weather out, and UnderCover does not call it waterproof. Flush-fitting side seals close the perimeter and integrated drain rails carry water away from the bed rather than into it, with drain tubes routed out of the bed at install. In a long downpour or at a jet wash, expect a little water to reach the bulkhead corners and the joints between panels, because a folding cover has seams a one-piece lid does not. Treat it as highly water-resistant and keep anything that genuinely must stay dry in a sealed box. The drain path is built in precisely because the design assumes some water gets past the seals.
How hard is the install, and do I have to drill?
Nothing is drilled into the truck to mount the cover on any Select application. UnderCover rates it Level 1 at 30 minutes or less: a vehicle-specific mounting kit locates the side rails, the rails clamp to the inside of your bed rails, and the cover sits on the rails. Drilling, where it appears, is only ever for the drain tubes. On most trucks the tubes drop through existing bed plugs or run behind a liner, but every Toyota application in this family does require drilling a hole for the drain, and the Jeep Gladiator part has a mandatory step that cuts a marked section out of the plastic bed cap. That cut is permanent, so it is worth knowing before you order. Work from the installation sheet in the carton rather than a film, because the clamp positions, torque figure and drain routing change from truck to truck.
How does it behave in snow and ice?
Clear it before you fold it back. UnderCover's Select sheet makes that a condition rather than a suggestion: the cover must be free of all foreign materials, snow and ice included, before opening, and forcing frozen panels apart is how hinges and seals get torn. Weather damage is excluded from the warranty. Closed, the panels will carry a snow load within the 300 lb evenly distributed rating, which is lower than the covers above it in the range and worth respecting on a wide bed. Rubber stiffens in deep cold like any rubber, so a cover that has sat frozen overnight will feel tighter than it does in July. UnderCover publishes no operating temperature range for the Select and we are not going to invent one.
Can I lock it, and will the latches catch on a bed that is not square?
There is no key. The Select is built with no external locks or latches by design, so security comes from the dual slam latches, which lock automatically as the cover closes, combined with a locked tailgate. With the tailgate up there is no way in and no cylinder to attack; with the tailgate down the cover opens. If that is not the security model you want, this is the wrong cover in the range. On squareness: the rear latch only engages if the side rails sit at 90 degrees to your bed rails, and the Select installation sheet prints that warning in capitals on most applications. A latch that will not catch is almost always a rail that is not square, so check the rails first. UnderCover also asks you to re-check every clamp and retention mechanism after about a week of driving and periodically after that.
Will it clear my bed rails, bedliner, rail caps or cargo lights?
The part number decides it, so read the qualifier in this listing's title before ordering. UnderCover builds separate Select parts for beds with the Toyota Deck Rail System and for GM beds with factory bed rail caps, and the part for one will not fit the other. Beyond that, the side rails clamp to the inside of your bed rails, so a drop-in liner with a lip folded over the rail, aftermarket rail caps or anything bolted along the inner bed rail can foul a clamp, and drain tubes have to route past or through a liner. Some applications also exclude a factory option outright, such as a RamBox, factory sport bars or a CarbonPro bed, and the fit guidance on this page spells out which. UnderCover publishes no clearance dimension, so if you run bed-rail accessories or cargo lights, measure what sits inside your bed rails before you order.
How much does it weigh, and can I take it off on my own?
Every Select application ships at about 70 lb packaged, the same figure on all 45 parts regardless of bed length. That is the carton: UnderCover publishes no weight for the cover on its own, so the cover itself is lighter than the number you see. One person can manage the folded stack on a short bed, though the awkward part is lifting it over the bed rail rather than the weight itself, and two people turn it into a short job on any bed. One honest caveat on removal: UnderCover publishes no tool-free removal claim for the Select, so do not assume it lifts off in seconds the way its quick-release sibling is sold. The side rails stay clamped to the truck once fitted, so taking the cover off for a bulky load is not the same job as a full uninstall.
