The UWS 36" truck side tool box bolts to the inside wall of the bed and gets your tools up off the floor. The bed stays clear for sheet goods, a pallet or a dirt bike, and the box is still there when you need a 3/8" drive. It measures 37" long, 12" wide and 12" tall overall over a 36" x 7" x 6.5" tub, giving 2.2ft³ of lockable, weather-sealed storage. The tub is formed from a single piece of 0.058" aluminum and the lid carries the patented RigidCore foam-filled core, so a lid this long does not flex when you lean on it or bind after a couple of winters. It is secured by two stainless steel paddle lock handles, sealed with the MicroSeal gasket and finished in gloss black powder coat. Two mounting legs and two keys are in the carton; the bolts are not.

2.2ft³ That Does Not Cost You the Bed Floor The tub measures 36" x 7" x 6.5", which is enough for cordless tools, a couple of impact sets and the consumables you do not want loose in the bed. Mounted on the bed wall it leaves the floor clear, so you can still drop a pallet in or lay a sheet of plywood flat.
Patented RigidCore Foam-Filled Lid The lid is filled with a solid foam core rather than left as a hollow aluminum shell. That is what stops a long lid from flexing when someone stands on it and what keeps it from twisting out of shape and binding against the tub, which is the way most truck boxes eventually fail.
One-Piece 0.058" Aluminum Tub The tub is formed from a single sheet of extra-thick aluminum, so there is no welded seam along the bottom of the box for water to find. Aluminum also means it does not rust where the finish gets chipped by a dropped wrench.
Stainless Steel Paddle Lock Handles Two paddle handles, both stainless steel so they keep working after a few salted winters. They are linked by an internal connecting rod, so the lid opens from whichever side of the truck you happen to be standing on. Two keys are included.
MicroSeal Gasket A full-perimeter gasket seals the lid to the tub to keep rain, road spray, dust and grit out. It is the part that decides whether your tools are dry after a highway run in the rain, and it is a cataloged replacement part when it eventually takes a set.
Designed, Fabricated and Welded in Florida UWS builds this box in its own Florida plant rather than assembling imported panels, and backs it with a limited lifetime warranty on workmanship and materials, one year on the finish and one year on parts.

Fit guidance: This is a universal-fit box, not a vehicle-specific kit, so what matters is the tape measure and not the year and model. Check three things before you order. First, the bed wall needs a clear straight run of at least 37". Second, the box hangs 12" into the bed and stands 12" tall, so confirm that clears your wheel well and anything else already mounted. Third, if you run a tonneau or a cap, check its rail and bow height against the 12" box height. Mounting hardware is not included and the legs mount on either side, so the same box works on the driver or passenger side.

The two legs ship with the box, but UWS does not include the bolts, because the right fastener depends on whether you are going through the bed wall, into a stake pocket or into a flatbed rail. Plan on buying your own hardware. Set the box on the rail, level it, mark through the legs, and check underneath before you drill: bed walls have wiring and fuel lines behind them in places. UWS is explicit that a tool box is not a place for flammables or hazardous material, so no fuel cans, solvents, propane or cutting torches. Never load past the vehicle manufacturer's rated capacity.

It is universal-fit, so measure rather than match a model. You need 37" of clear, straight bed wall, 12" of clearance into the bed and 12" of height. On a full-size 6'6" or 8' bed that is easy. On a 5'8" short bed or a mid-size truck, measure the wall between the bulkhead and the wheel well before ordering.
Are the mounting legs and hardware included?
The two legs and two keys are in the carton. The bolts are not. UWS leaves the fasteners out because the correct one depends on what you are bolting to, so budget for hardware. If you would rather have a pivoting leg that adjusts from 0 to 55 degrees and comes with its own hardware and rivet nut tool, the UWS TBSM-MK2 adjustable leg kit is sold separately.
Can I mount it on either side of the truck?
Yes. The box is symmetrical and the legs bolt on either way round, so the same part number works on the driver or the passenger side. Many trades run one on each wall.
How weatherproof is it?
The lid seals to the tub with the MicroSeal full-perimeter gasket, which is designed to keep out rain, road spray, dust and dirt. It is a weather-sealed box rather than a submersible case, so treat it as rainproof, not waterproof, and it will keep tools dry through the weather a work truck actually sees.
What is the lid made of, and can I stand on it?
The lid uses the patented RigidCore design: a foam core filling the aluminum shell. That is specifically there to resist bending and warping, which is what causes a lid to stop lining up with the latch. UWS does not publish a stand-on load rating, so treat incidental standing as within design intent and do not make it a step.
What does the warranty cover?

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
