Matte Black Powder Coat Over Aluminum The matte black powder coat finish is applied over aluminum, so even where the coating eventually gets chipped there is no steel underneath to rust. Matte black stays flat and non-reflective, which hides handling marks and dust far better than a gloss finish and does not throw sun glare back at the cab.
Secure Lock Twist Handles, Locking From Either Side Two key-operated twist handles, one on each side, and an internal connecting rod that ties them together. You can lock or unlock and open the box from the driver's side or the passenger's side, whichever side of the truck you happen to be standing on. Lay the two supplied rail pads on the bed rails so the box does not sit metal-to-metal on your paint, set the box down centered front to back and side to side, then fit the two 3" J-hooks from underneath with the 1/4" washers and nuts and draw them up evenly. Torque to about 3 ft-lb: these are clamping fasteners, not structural bolts, and overtightening will dimple the rail. Two keys are supplied. Open and close the lid before you walk away to confirm the box is square and the latches line up. This box is heavy and awkward, so lift it into the bed with two people.

Matte black. Because the substrate is aluminum, a chip in the coating cannot start rust the way it would on a steel box.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
