Roll-N-Lock A-Series XT Retractable Tonneau Cover for 2021-2026 Ford F-150 (5'7" Bed)

An A-Series XT is a hard aluminum cover that gets out of the bed when you open it and carries hardware when you close it. The deck winds into a bulkhead canister under torsion-spring load, while each MaxTrak side rail stays exposed with its T-slot running the full length of the box.

Below the rails the mechanism is pure Roll-N-Lock. A patented theft-resistant hinge joins one aluminum slat to the next so the deck coils tightly without losing rigidity, a torsion-spring drive carries its weight forward, and a ratchet mechanism holds the cover at three points along its travel. The keyed twist latch sits behind a hinged cover that keeps weather out of the cylinder, and the canister is 7.25 inches deep, so the bed loses only that much length to the stowed cover.

This is 131A-XT, the 5'7" application for the 2021-2026 Ford F-150 and the 2022-2026 F-150 Lightning. CM131 is the Cargo Manager that drops into the same rails.

Features

MaxTrak T-Slot Rails
Each side rail is a MaxTrak extrusion with a continuous T-slot along the top. Crossbars, tie-down knobs and rack feet bolt straight into the slot at any point along the bed, so accessories anchor to the cover's own structure rather than clamping over the bed lip, and the deck still retracts underneath them.

Dual-Layer Aluminum Deck
The slats are dual-layer aluminum finished in matte black powder coat, with no vinyl skin over them. That is the practical difference between this cover and the M-Series: the surface you load against, brush with a ladder and park a toolbox next to is metal all the way through.

Locks With Your Tailgate
A tailgate extrusion is built into the rear edge of the cover. Close it, turn the key, and the tailgate cannot be dropped, so the bed is shut by the cover and the tailgate acting as one unit rather than two separate locks.

Three Latching Positions
A patented ratchet-style mechanism catches the deck at three points along its travel. Carrying something taller than the bed walls no longer forces a choice between fully covered and fully open, because you can park the cover partway back and lock it there.

Weatherproof Key Cover
The keyed twist latch sits under a hinged flap that shuts over the key slot. It is a small part that answers a real winter problem: water and snow stay out of the cylinder, so the lock is not frozen solid the morning after a storm.

Drains Through the Rails, Not Onto Your Gear
Hidden seals shed most of the weather, and integrated channels in the side rails collect whatever gets past them. Two drain tubes route that water down through the bed and out under the truck instead of letting it pool on what you are carrying.

Clamps On, No Holes in the Truck
The side tracks clamp to the bed rails with the hardware in the box and the canister sits against the bulkhead. Nothing is drilled into the vehicle. A drop-in plastic bedliner does have to be cut back and drilled so the canister seats and the drain tubes pass through, and the cut measurements are in the sheet.

Installation

The MaxTrak rails clamp to the bed rails with the supplied hardware and the canister housing sits against the bulkhead at the front of the bed. No holes go into the truck itself.

If your bed has a drop-in plastic liner, read this first. Roll-N-Lock's sheet has you cut the liner back across the bulkhead and at the tailgate end with a jig saw, and drill five 1/2" holes through it so the canister sits down properly and the drain tubes can pass through. The sheet gives the exact measurements. A spray-in liner needs none of that. This is the one step people are surprised by, so it is better to know before the box is open than after.

Track spacing is the step that decides whether the cover latches: Roll-N-Lock specifies 59-1/4" inside track to track on this platform, and the cargo shield has notches you use as the gauge. Clamps go to 70 in-lb (8 Nm) at the track angles and 62 in-lb (7 Nm) at the bed clamps, and shims are supplied if a track needs squaring up. Route the drain tubes clear of the cab vents. Roll-N-Lock does not publish an installation time for this cover, so we are not going to quote one.

Warranty, Shipping & Returns

Warranty. Roll-N-Lock covers this product with a three (3) year limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship. The warranty is not transferable, and it expires if the cover is moved to another vehicle or the original vehicle changes owner. Roll-N-Lock states plainly that it does not warrant against water intrusion, including leaks in normal use, so treat this as a water-resistant cover rather than a sealed one.

Three things in the warranty conditions that catch people out. Never spray lubricant into the tracks, silicone or petroleum based especially, because it attracts grit and Roll-N-Lock voids the warranty for it. Clear snow and ice off the cover before you open it. And if the truck is ever towed from the rear, the cover has to come off first. Clean with mild automotive soap and water only, and re-check the clamps after a week of driving.
