The Esperance V2 is ARB's lightweight hardshell: 130 lb of heat-treated ABS shell that releases on three latches and deploys on gas struts in seconds, without the weight penalty that usually comes with a clamshell tent. ARB counts more than 40 changes over the original Esperance, and the ones that matter day to day are the lockable D-handles, the black telescopic ladder with angled steps, and a 12V control box inside the tent giving two USB-C outlets and a 12V socket.
The canvas is 200GSM fire-retardant poly-cotton with a removable rain fly rated to a 9' water head, and the side windows come out completely when you want airflow instead of weather protection. Two extra vents sit at the highest point of the tent to fight condensation, and internal and external LED zones switch independently from inside or outside. Bed space is 78.3" x 56.3" with 43.8" of head room over a 2" egg-crate foam mattress, and the included brackets fit an ARB BASE Rack or most crossbar systems.

Features
130 lb Hardshell ARB kept the V2 to 130 lb, which is the difference between a rack that can carry a hardshell tent and one that cannot. Packed height is 13.5", so it does not dominate the roofline either.
Lockable D-Handles Updated D-handles open the tent easily and take a key, so the tent is secured at camp and at the trailhead rather than held shut by shock cord.
12V Electrics Built In An internal control box gives two USB-C outlets and a 12V socket, fed by the included 10' power cable. Internal and external LED zones switch independently from inside or outside the tent.
Weather Or Airflow, Your Choice The removable rain fly carries a silver undercoat for insulation and a 9' water head rating. Side windows are transparent for bad weather and remove completely for airflow, and two high vents fight condensation.
Telescopic Ladder With Angled Steps The black telescopic aluminum ladder is rated to 330 lb and its steps are angled, which is a small change you notice every time you climb it barefoot at 2 am.
Fits BASE Rack Or Crossbars Included mount brackets suit the ARB BASE Rack and most crossbar systems, and the all-black extrusions, ladder, brackets, edges, rails and window rods keep the look consistent.

The 130 lb tent weight is the number your crossbars have to carry while driving; the number that matters while you are asleep is the rack static rating with two adults in the tent. Two people can manage the lift with care, three is easier. The brackets bolt to the crossbars, and the supplied 10' cable runs from the internal control box to your 12V source. ARB supplies fitting instructions with the tent.

How fast does it open?

Is the V2 the same as the older Esperance?
No. ARB counts more than 40 changes, including the lockable D-handles, the black telescopic ladder with angled steps, the internal 12V control box and the extra high-level vents. Treat it as a separate generation when you are shopping for accessories, and match the V2 annex rather than an older one.
What can I plug in up there?
Two USB-C outlets and one 12V socket on the internal control box, fed by the included 10' cable from your vehicle supply. That covers phones, a fan or a light without running an extension through the door zipper.
Will it fit my roof rack?
The included brackets suit the ARB BASE Rack and most crossbar systems, so the bracket is rarely the limiting factor. The limits are your crossbar dynamic rating against the 130 lb tent, and the static rating against the tent plus two adults.
How does it handle rain and condensation?
The removable rain fly is 210D silver-coated Oxford with a 9' water head rating and an insulating undercoat. Two ventilation windows sit at the highest part of the tent specifically to move moist air out, and the side windows are removable when you want maximum airflow instead.

Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
