Silverado HD tonneau covers that fit your bed
Every Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD has a standard bed or an 8 ft long bed, but no part here fits both a 2019 and a 2020 truck. BAK, Extang, Retrax, UnderCover and Pace Edwards use the shorter label for each bed, while TruXedo, Roll-N-Lock and most Access parts list newer beds an inch or two longer.
| Model years | Standard bed listed as | Long bed listed as | Series that fit |
| 2020 to 2026 | 6'9" or 6'10" | 8' or 8'2" | 52 |
| 2015 to 2019 | 6'6" or 6'7" | 8' or 8'2" | 46 |
| 2007 new body to 2014 | 6'6" or 6'7" | 8' or 8'2" | 35 |
| 1999 to 2006 | 6'6" | 8' | 17 to 24 |
A 2015 to 2019 truck takes nearly all the same parts as a 2014 to 2018 Silverado 1500 with that bed, while the 2020 and newer standard bed fits HD parts only. On a 2007, check the body: the new body takes 2007 to 2014 parts, while a 2500 HD Classic or 3500 Classic shares 1999 to 2006 parts, though fewer series list it.
Factory options, duallies and bed width
Chevy's Multi-Flex tailgate changes the part for some TruXedo and Access covers (see the FAQ below). On 2020 to 2026 trucks, most Access parts, the Roll-N-Lock M-Series and the LOMAX Hard Tri-Fold's 6'10" part rule out factory side storage boxes, and the M-Series 6'10" part needs the front tie-downs removed. On 2007 to 2014 beds, UnderCover's Flex, Ultra Flex and ArmorFlex and the TruXedo Lo Pro need a bed without the cargo management system.
Some 2007 to 2014 long-bed parts, the Lo Pro among them, come in dually and single-rear-wheel versions, but no 2020 to 2026 part here is split by rear wheels. Owners also report that BAK ships shims and a supplemental sheet with the Revolver X4s because current GM HD beds vary in width. A 2500 HD ZR2 owner needed the shims, and this owner did not:
“I will say that the supplemental instructions for the current model GM HD trucks need some work, as they could be simplified quite a bit from what they currently are. After reading them and finally understanding them, I took the measurements and fortunately did not have to use the supplemental shims.”

Choosing a cover for the Silverado HD
If you tow, start with the hitch. A fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch needs the bed open, and roll-ups and retractables store low at the front wall rather than standing up behind the cab. BAK lists the Revolver X4s ($1,399.99) and Revolver X2 ($1,379.99) as compatible with most fifth-wheel hitch setups. The RetraxPRO MX ($2,249.99) holds open at any point, which a full-time fifth-wheel owner puts to use:
“Being able to close the cover part way anywhere along the track is great for hauling taller items while still protecting other items in the bed. Best part is my 5ft 4in wife can easily open and close the cover without having to climb into the bed on our 2024 Silverado 3500 dually!”

Owners report the BAKFlip MX4 ($1,249.99) folding clear of a fifth-wheel hitch, but an Extang Endure ALX owner found its folded panels blocked the truck's camera when hooking up a gooseneck. A RetraxONE MX owner warns that a very tight turn can swing a kingpin into a side rail.
The 8 ft bed has 32 series for 2020 to 2026, including nine hard folding covers and seven retractables, but no one-piece lid or LOMAX. A crossover toolbox sits ahead of the Extang Solid Fold Toolbox 2.0 ($1,249.99) or Access Toolbox Edition ($580.55), both made for either bed. Only Pace Edwards offers an electric cover for the long bed here: the BedLocker ($2,886.23) and UltraGroove Electric.
For a bed rack, 11 series with T-slot rails fit 2020 to 2026 trucks, six of them with a long-bed part, such as the BAKFlip MX4 TS ($1,499.99) and RetraxPRO XR ($2,399.99). On a tighter budget, the Extang Trifecta e-Series ($339.99) fits the 6'9" bed and the Trifecta 2.0 ($469.99) fits both.
