Start with the body style, because a 2019 to 2024 Ram 1500 can be either of two trucks. Ram brought out a new body for 2019 and kept building the previous one alongside it as the Ram 1500 Classic, which the covers here list through 2024. A Classic takes the same parts as a 2009 to 2018 truck, so pick 1500 Classic in the selector if you drive one. Trucks up to 2010 are listed under Dodge.

The floor lengths carried over to the new body, but the covers did not, so every brand here makes separate parts for it. Roll-N-Lock lists the long bed as 8'2", and parts for 1994 to 2001 trucks list a 6'6" or 8' bed. Access and LOMAX already list some parts for 2027 trucks.
Two factory options change the part. RamBox puts a lockable storage bin in each bedside, and the multifunction tailgate, offered from 2019, splits 60/40 and swings open like a pair of doors as well as folding down. Most brands make a RamBox version, often built for the factory silver cargo rails, and on the new body every RamBox part here is for the 5'7" bed. Pace Edwards covers, Roll-N-Lock's M-Series XT and A-Series and UnderCover's one-piece lids are listed only for trucks without RamBox.
Owners say BAK's RamBox parts take some force to slide into those factory rails. A 2021 RamBox owner wrote this about the Revolver X2:

For the multifunction tailgate, BAK makes dedicated parts for the BAKFlip MX4, G2 and F1. UnderCover does the same for the Flex, Ultra Flex and ArmorFlex. TruXedo has them for the Lo Pro, Pro X15 and Pro X15 TS. Roll-N-Lock's M-Series XT and the Pace Edwards covers are listed as not for it.
The TRX uses the 5'7" bed, so it takes the new-body 5'7" part. Check for the TRX bed bar first: Retrax says the RetraxONE XR will not work with it, and Pace Edwards says it must come off before a JackRabbit goes on.
A RamBox truck already has two lockable bins, so the cover only has to guard the open bed between them. The BAKFlip MX4 ($1,199.99) folds flush to the cab to open all of it and comes in RamBox versions for both bodies. The RetraxONE MX ($1,549.99) retracts into a canister at the front wall and locks at any point, and Retrax also makes it with and without RamBox. One RamBox owner says the canister takes more bed space than expected.
The 8 ft bed ended with the Classic. Extang's Trifecta Toolbox 2.0 ($489.99) and Solid Fold Toolbox 2.0 ($1,249.99) leave room for a crossover box on the 6'4" and 8' beds of 2011 to 2018 trucks and the Classic. Access's Toolbox Edition ($580.55) also fits the new body, on trucks without RamBox or the multifunction tailgate.
For cross bars or a bike rack, the TruXedo Pro X15 TS ($669.99) is the budget way to get T-slot rails, with multifunction tailgate parts for both new-body beds. On a RamBox truck, the RetraxONE XR ($1,699.99) and RetraxPRO XR ($2,299.99) pair T-slot rails with a RamBox part.
UnderCover's one-piece lids suit trucks without RamBox or the split tailgate. For 2025 and 2026 trucks, only the Elite ($1,449.99) and Elite LX ($1,499.99) have a part, and only for the 5'7" bed. At the other end, the Extang Trifecta e-Series ($339.99) costs the least of any cover here, and its RamBox part works with or without the multifunction tailgate.
Eight of the nine brands here have a RamBox part for the Ram 1500, all but Pace Edwards. The table marks which series have one for the new body.

From is the lowest figure for any Ram 1500 part in the series, so check the price shown for your bed, RamBox and tailgate.
BAK builds the BAKFlip MX4 ($1,199.99) in RamBox versions for the 5'7" bed on both bodies and for the 6'4" RamBox bed on 2012 to 2018 trucks and the Classic. It folds flush against the cab to open the whole bed and carries 400 lb closed, and an owner fitting one to a third Ram says it took under 30 minutes. Skip it if you want rack rails as well: on a RamBox truck, the RetraxONE XR and RetraxPRO XR combine both.
UnderCover makes the Flex ($1,099.99) in separate multifunction tailgate parts for new-body 5'7" and 6'4" beds, plus a RamBox part, all in gloss black. It clamps on with no drilling and is rated for 400 lb. Skip it if you want a cover with its own lock: the release cables sit inside the bed, so a locked tailgate is the security.
The Extang Trifecta e-Series ($339.99) costs the least of any cover on this page, and its new-body RamBox part works with or without the multifunction tailgate. It clamps on without tools, folds forward to open two-thirds of the bed and carries a 5-year warranty. Skip it if you need a lock (Extang lists none) or have the split tailgate without RamBox on a 5'7" bed.
The RetraxPRO MX ($2,149.99) has an 8 ft part for 2009 to 2018 trucks and the Classic, and its double-wall aluminum slats are rated for 500 lb. It holds open at any point, opens without dropping the tailgate and carries a limited lifetime warranty. Skip it if price leads: the lower-priced Pace Edwards SwitchBlade ($1,191.19) also retracts on those 8 ft beds, with a two-year warranty.
UnderCover builds the ArmorFlex ($1,349.99) in a 5'7" part for new-body trucks with RamBox and the silver cargo rails, and rates it for 400 lb.
The RetraxPRO XR ($2,299.99) runs T-slot rails the full length of the bed, is rated for 500 lb and has a RamBox part for the new-body 5'7" bed.
The BAK Revolver X4s ($1,399.99) rolls onto a spool at the bulkhead to open the whole bed, carries BAK's Level-3 security rating and comes in RamBox versions for both bodies.
On the new body, Quad Cabs have the 6'4" bed, Crew Cabs have the 5'7" or 6'4" bed and every TRX has the 5'7". The 8 ft bed came with the Regular Cab on 2009 to 2018 trucks and the Classic, and the new body does not offer it. Measured inside at the floor, the 5'7" bed is 67.4 inches and the 6'4" bed 76.3 inches, so a tape settles it before you pick a bed in the selector.

On the new body every RamBox part is for the 5'7" bed, and many are built for the factory silver cargo rails. Pace Edwards covers, Roll-N-Lock's M-Series XT, LOMAX's 5'7" parts without RamBox and UnderCover's one-piece lids are listed for trucks without it.
Only on the older body. Many 6'4" and 8' parts for 2009 to 2018 trucks and the Classic also list the 2500 and 3500, and the part title names every truck it fits. Parts for the new-body Ram 1500 list the 1500 alone, so a heavy-duty owner should pick that truck in the selector.
Mostly, but RamBox trucks have a weak spot at the tailgate. Two BAKFlip G2 owners with RamBox report water getting in where the RamBox meets the tailgate and suggest adding a seal there, and a Revolver X4s owner with RamBox cut the leaks to a few drops with weather stripping and caulk. Covers with drain tubes, such as the BAKFlip MX4 and RetraxPRO MX, carry water out of the bed, but UnderCover's Ultra Flex parts for the multifunction tailgate come with no drain tubes.
