Tundra tonneau covers that fit your bed

No cover here uses the same part for a 2021 and a 2022 Tundra, even where Toyota kept the bed length, so start with your model year. The 2022 to 2026 truck also moved to a sheet-molded compound bed. Then match the bed: Toyota builds three lengths, and cover makers label them differently.

Toyota bed2007 to 2021 cabs2022 to 2026 cabsListed here as
5.5 ftCrewMaxCrewMax5'7" (TruXedo uses 5'6" from 2022)
6.5 ftRegular Cab and Double CabDouble Cab and CrewMax6'7" (TruXedo uses 6'6" from 2022)
8.1 ftRegular Cab and Double CabDouble Cab8', 8'1" or 8'2"

BAK's Revolver X4s also lists the 2007 to 2021 standard bed as 6'6". Six series still fit the 2000 to 2006 Tundra, listed at 6'2" to 6'5" by cab and brand, among them the BAKFlip G2, Extang Trifecta 2.0 and RetraxPRO MX. No cover here is sold by trim, so a TRD Pro or Capstone takes the same part as an SR5 with the same year, bed and equipment.

The Deck Rail System

Toyota's Deck Rail System is a channel along the top of each bed side, with tie-down cleats that slide and lock in it. Covers mount in the same place, so the rails change the part. On 2022 to 2026 trucks, 14 series here list only beds with the rails and two list only beds without them, the TruXedo Deuce and Access Toolbox Edition. Extang's Trifecta covers, Retrax's MX covers, the Access Original and TruXedo Lo Pro come in one of each. A 2020 Tundra owner explains:

“I had the factory bed rail system that had to be relocated with the provided adapter plates...make sure you specify when ordering, if your Toyota Tundra has this option.”

Storage boxes and the factory liner

The 2021 Trail Special Edition came with lockable storage boxes in the bed. UnderCover lists its folding covers only for Tundras without the Trail package, and on 2022 to 2026 trucks the three Pace Edwards retractables rule out factory bed storage boxes and impede the Deck Rail System. Toyota's factory spray-in liner on the 2022 to 2026 bed carries a molded Tundra nameplate, and Roll-N-Lock builds only its 5'7" M-Series and M-Series XT in a version for it.

Choosing a cover for the Tundra

The CrewMax 5.5 ft bed has the widest choice, 47 series on 2022 to 2026 trucks. The BAKFlip MX4 ($1,199.99) folds flat against the cab and the BAK Revolver X4s ($1,399.99) rolls onto a spool there, so both open the whole CrewMax bed. The RetraxONE MX ($1,549.99) locks at any point along its rails but keeps a canister in the bed, a loss one 2023 CrewMax owner with the RetraxONE XR calls minimal.

The Double Cab's 8.1 ft bed has the shortest list. For 2022 to 2026 trucks it is three covers, all for beds with the Deck Rail System: the RetraxPRO XR ($2,299.99), the Access Original ($580.55) and the TruXedo Pro X15 TS ($669.99). A 2007 to 2021 long bed has seven, among them the BAKFlip G2 ($1,099.99).

Eleven series have T-slot rails on 2022 to 2026 Tundras, so bikes, a kayak or a rooftop tent can ride above a closed bed. The TruXedo Pro X15 TS is the entry point, but it lists only the 6.5 and 8.1 ft beds. On the short bed, the BAKFlip MX4 TS ($1,449.99) and BAK Revolver X4 TS ($1,549.99) keep full bed access, while the RetraxPRO XR is rated for 500 lb and carries a limited lifetime warranty.

For push-button opening, Retrax says the EQ ($2,799.99) answers to the truck's own key fob, which on a 2022 to 2026 Tundra already releases the tailgate. A 2024 TRD Pro owner reports it works with the factory remote. The Roll-N-Lock E-Series ($2,129.63) and Pace Edwards BedLocker ($2,886.23) use their own remotes and fit only the 2022 to 2026 CrewMax 5.5 ft bed. On a tighter budget, every soft cover here starts under $700 on the Tundra, from the Extang Trifecta e-Series ($339.99) up.

Brands we carry for the Tundra

Nine brands build covers for the Tundra on this page. The table shows the 2022 to 2026 beds each series lists, and the selector finds the 2007 to 2021 parts.

Our picks for the Tundra

Best Tundra cover under $500

The Extang Trifecta 2.0 ($469.99) clamps on by hand, comes in versions for 2007 to 2026 5.5 and 6.5 ft beds with and without the Deck Rail System and carries Extang's limited lifetime warranty. A new-Tundra owner who expected the bed rails to get in the way found they made it easier to use, and rates its seal 95 to 97% water tight. Skip it if you have the 8.1 ft bed, which it does not list. Extang also gives no load rating, so keep cargo off the closed cover.

Best Tundra cover for the CrewMax short bed

The BAKFlip MX4 ($1,199.99) folds flat against the cab, so a 5.5 ft bed opens end to end, and it carries 400 lb closed. BAK lists 2007 to 2021 parts with and without deck rails and one part per bed for 2022 to 2026 trucks, 6.5 ft beds included. Skip it if a rack is in your plans, because the MX4 TS ($1,449.99) adds T-slot rails to the same cover.

Best Tundra cover for racks and overlanding

The BAK Revolver X4 TS ($1,549.99) puts full-length T-slot rails on a 400 lb hard roll-up that stows against the cab, on 2007 to 2026 5.5 and 6.5 ft beds. A 2024 Tundra owner reports the kit moves the factory deck rails, the bed cleats still work and the rolled cover takes about 7 inches behind the back window. Skip it if you have the 8.1 ft bed, which it does not list.

Best Tundra cover for the 8.1 ft bed

The RetraxPRO XR ($2,299.99) is the only hard cover listed for the 2022 to 2026 long bed, and that part is built for trucks with the Deck Rail System. Double-wall aluminum slats carry 500 lb, T-slot rails take a rack and Retrax backs it with a limited lifetime warranty. Skip it if you have a 2007 to 2021 long bed, which it does not list: the BAKFlip G2 fits that bed with or without deck rails.

TruXedo Pro X15 TS soft roll-up cover with T-slot rails on a 2022 Toyota Tundra

T-slot rails on a soft cover

The TruXedo Pro X15 TS ($669.99) brings T-slot rails to a soft roll-up on 2022 to 2026 6.5 and 8.1 ft beds with the Deck Rail System.

BAK Revolver X4s hard roll-up tonneau cover fitted to a gray 2022 Toyota Tundra

Level-3 security that rolls away

BAK rates the Revolver X4s ($1,399.99) Level-3 for security and 400 lb for load, and it rolls onto a spool at the cab on 2007 to 2026 5.5 and 6.5 ft beds.

Retrax EQ electric retractable cover with T-slot rails on a gray 2022 Toyota Tundra

Opens from the Tundra key fob

Retrax says the EQ ($2,799.99) runs from the truck's factory key fob, an app or an optional touchpad, with T-slot rails and a 500 lb rating on 2022 to 2026 5.5 and 6.5 ft beds with the Deck Rail System.

Tundra tonneau cover FAQs

What bed length does my Tundra have?

From 2007, every CrewMax has the 5.5 ft bed except 2022 to 2026 trucks built with the 6.5 ft bed, and every Double Cab has the 6.5 or 8.1 ft bed. The 2007 to 2017 Regular Cab came with one or the other. To check, measure inside the bed from the front wall to the closed tailgate: about 66 inches is the 5.5 ft bed, 78 the 6.5 ft and 97 the 8.1 ft, give or take an inch by generation.

Do covers work with the Tundra Deck Rail System?

Yes, once the part matches your bed. Most brands list separate Tundra parts for beds with and without the rails, and many rail kits clamp into Toyota's channel or move the rails. Some retractables cost you cleat use: owners of the Retrax EQ and RetraxPRO XR say the cover limits the factory tie-downs, while a 2024 Tundra owner with the BAK Revolver X4 TS still uses the cleats.

Will a cover from my 2007 to 2021 Tundra fit a 2022 or newer?

No. Toyota kept the 5.5, 6.5 and 8.1 ft lengths, but every brand here makes separate parts for the two generations. Pick the new truck's year and bed in the selector, and expect far fewer long-bed choices: 3 series for the 2022 to 2026 8.1 ft bed against 7 for the 2007 to 2021 bed.

Will a cover fit with the factory spray-in liner?

Roll-N-Lock is the only brand here that flags it, on 2022 to 2026 trucks. Toyota's factory liner carries a molded Tundra nameplate, and only Roll-N-Lock's 5'7" M-Series and M-Series XT come in a version built for it. Its 6'7" parts, A-Series XT and E-Series covers do not fit that liner.

Will a tonneau cover keep my Tundra bed dry?

Mostly. Retractables carry canister water out through drain tubes, and a 2023 Tundra owner reports the RetraxPRO MX kit adapted its tubes to the bed's two small floor drains, so no drilling was needed. A 2021 Tundra owner says the BAK Revolver X4s lets a little water in at the corners, while a 2025 Tundra owner reports no drizzle past the Extang Trifecta ALX so far.
