It gives 49" of frontage along the vehicle and reaches 83" out from it, off a roof rack or roof bars, and it self-supports on anodized telescopic legs so nothing has to be tied to the vehicle.
The canvas is PU-coated 300GSM poly-cotton ripstop, fully waterproof with a UPF 50+ rating, and it stows in a heavy-duty nylon-reinforced bag with reinforced extrusions, molded ARB end caps and sail-track protection. ARB rates setup at five minutes and includes pegs, guy ropes, stainless mounting hardware and instructions, so the only decision left is which side of the vehicle it lives on.

Fit guidance: The awning is universal, the mounting is what varies. ARB publishes L brackets, gusseted brackets and one-bolt quick-release brackets for different rack types, and the right one depends on the rack you already own rather than on the vehicle underneath it. Mounting points up to 6.9' high are supported.

The awning bolts through its mounting extrusion to the rack. Get the height and fore-aft position right before you torque anything, because that decides whether the legs land on level ground and whether the doors clear the deployed canvas. Setup at camp after that is about five minutes.

How much shade does the 1.25M actually give?
It runs 49" along the vehicle and reaches 83" out from it, so it shades a door, a person standing at the vehicle and a small work area. If you want to cover a table and chairs for a group, the 2.0M or 2.5M awnings are the ones to look at.
Does it need to be tied to the vehicle?
No. It is self-standing on anodized telescopic legs, and pegs and guy ropes are included to secure those legs. That is what lets you drive away from a deployed awning setup on some rack arrangements, and what stops a gust taking it in the first place.
What do I need to mount it?
A roof rack or roof bars, with a mounting height up to 6.9'. Stainless mounting nuts and bolts come in the box. If your rack is an ARB Touring, Flat or cage rack, ARB's one-bolt quick-release brackets make the awning removable in seconds.

Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
