The Intensity LED Range

ARB's walk through of the Intensity round driving light family: the reflector design, the sealing, and how the beams are engineered. Filmed by ARB, and the clearest explanation of what separates these from generic LED pods.

Night Driving Technique

ARB on how to actually use auxiliary lighting at night: beam selection, aiming, and reading the road ahead at speed. Worth watching before you aim a new set of lights for the first time.

The ARB Story

How a Melbourne driveway operation building bull bars for outback tourers in 1975 became the southern hemisphere's biggest 4x4 accessories maker. Seven minutes on the company behind this product, filmed by ARB across its Australian factories and proving grounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Should I buy the flood or the spot?

Flood if you already have decent distance from your headlights and want to see the sides of the road, spot if you want to see a long way down it. The most common answer is one of each: an AR21FV2 flood beside an AR32SV2 spot gives width and reach off one switch. If you only run one pair and do most of your night driving on twisty dirt, flood is the better single choice.

Do I need the ARB loom, or will a generic harness work?

ARB specifies loom 3500480 for the Intensity V2 round lights and we would not fight that. At 7.3 A per light the wire gauge, relay rating and connector sealing all matter, and the ARB loom is built with the correct Deutsch DTP plugs so there is nothing to splice at the light end.

Will this fit my bull bar?

If it has a 12 mm mounting hole on a light tab or pan, yes. It is not a vehicle-specific part. The bracket is a stainless steel single-bolt design, so the practical questions are whether you have the clearance for a 7" light and whether the tab is strong enough, which any ARB or quality aftermarket bar will be.

Is 9,100 lumens a real number?

It is the effective figure, which is the honest one. Raw lumens measure what the diodes produce before the optics; effective lumens measure what actually leaves the light. ARB publishes both (13,170 raw, 9,100 effective) rather than quoting only the bigger number, which is why its figures look lower than some competitors quoting raw output alone.

How well is it sealed?

IP68, which means dust-tight and able to survive immersion. The body is high-pressure cast aluminum and the Gore-Tex breather lets the light equalize pressure as it heats and cools without drawing water in, which is the failure mode that kills cheap sealed lights after a few river crossings.

What is the warranty?

3 years, which is the term ARB publishes for this part. It is administered in North America by ARB out of Auburn, Washington, and honored through authorized dealers. Keep your invoice and register the product with ARB after purchase.
