The Intensity LED Range

ARB's walk through of the Intensity round driving light family: the reflector design, the sealing, and how the beams are engineered. Filmed by ARB, and the clearest explanation of what separates these from generic LED pods.

Night Driving Technique

ARB on how to actually use auxiliary lighting at night: beam selection, aiming, and reading the road ahead at speed. Worth watching before you aim a new set of lights for the first time.

The ARB Story

How a Melbourne driveway operation building bull bars for outback tourers in 1975 became the southern hemisphere's biggest 4x4 accessories maker. Seven minutes on the company behind this product, filmed by ARB across its Australian factories and proving grounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Is the 9" worth the jump from the 7"?

On paper it is 13,680 effective lumens against 9,100, and 677 m of reach against 555 m, for the same beam shape. In practice the extra reflector area gives you a noticeably brighter lit area rather than just a longer one. If your bar has the room and your budget allows, the 9" is the better light; if clearance or weight is tight, the AR21 is not a compromise you will regret.

Flood or spot for this size?

The AR32FV2 flood and AR32SV2 spot use the same housing and the same 20,000 raw lumens, but distribute it differently: the flood gives 13,680 effective lumens over 7.5 degrees to 677 m, the spot concentrates 7,452 effective lumens into 6 degrees and reaches 795 m. Running one of each per side is the classic setup.

What current does a pair draw?

11.5 A each at 14.4 V, so 23 A for a pair. That is a real load, which is why ARB specifies its own loom (3500480) with the correct relay and wire gauge rather than leaving you to size a harness yourself.

Will it survive corrugations?

ARB qualifies the Intensity V2 to MIL-STD-810G for vibration. The housing is high-pressure cast aluminum and the whole assembly is pressure-tested and IP68 sealed with a Gore-Tex breather, which is the part that stops water being drawn in as the light heats and cools.

Do I need a cover?

Not strictly, but a stone through a 9" lens is an expensive lesson. ARB sells AR09 clear, AR09TA amber and AR09SB solid black covers for this size. Clear preserves output, amber cuts through dust and fog, black is purely cosmetic and blocks light entirely.

What is the warranty?

3 years, which is the term ARB publishes for this part. It is administered in North America by ARB out of Auburn, Washington, and honored through authorized dealers. Keep your invoice and register with ARB after purchase.
