ARB Winch Synthetic Rope, 0.43" x 78', for 12,000 lb ARB Winch (ARWA011)

This is the ARB replacement synthetic rope for the 12,000 lb ARB winch: 0.43" diameter and 78' long. The thicker rope and shorter length are what the higher capacity drum needs, and they are not interchangeable with the 10K winch's rope.

Winch rope is consumable safety equipment. It abrades against the fairlead, takes UV, and carries the accumulated damage of every recovery it has done. Replacing it on a schedule rather than after a failure is the whole point of a manufacturer spares program, because a rope that lets go under load is the most dangerous thing that can happen during winching.

What's Included:

• One ARB winch rope

Features

Correct Length And Diameter For The 12K Winch
ARB specifies 0.43" x 78' for the 12,000 lb winch. Fitting the 10K rope instead means the wrong diameter for the drum and the wrong working length.

Synthetic, Not Steel
Lighter to handle, safer if it fails, and matched to the hawse fairlead ARB fits to these winches.

Restores Factory Function
A genuine spare puts the winch back to the specification ARB tested, rather than approximating it.

Rope Is A Consumable
Replace on condition, not on failure. Fraying, glazing, flat spots and a fuzzy surface are all reasons to retire a rope.

Bedding In Matters
A new rope must be bedded in under light load so the wraps seat evenly on the drum before it sees a real recovery.

Supplied With A Thimble Eye
The terminated eye protects the rope where it connects to a hook or a soft shackle.

Installation

Type: Replacement rope, fitted to the winch drum  ·  Time: 1 to 2 hours including bedding in  ·  Tools: Standard hand tools; the ARB winch user manual covers the procedure  ·  Difficulty: Moderate

Isolate the winch electrically before working on it. ARB's winch user manual for the 10K and 12K winches covers this part and is linked in the Resources tab. A new synthetic rope must be bedded in under light load before it is trusted with a real recovery, so the wraps seat evenly on the drum.

About ARB

ARB started in 1975 in a Melbourne garage, when Tony Brown began building bull bars for the four wheel drives crossing Australia's outback, and it has grown into the largest 4x4 accessories maker in the southern hemisphere. Its engineering campus in Kilsyth, Victoria develops and tests the winching and frontal protection systems the brand is known for, and ARB supports those systems with a published spare parts program instead of treating a winch as a throwaway item.

In North America ARB operates from Auburn, Washington as Air Locker Inc., backing every product with a US warranty program. Prestige Truck is an authorized ARB dealer. Every part we ship is a genuine ARB component with full ARB North America warranty coverage, which matters more on a rebuild part than on almost anything else you buy.
