The ARB BASE Rack is a one piece, fully welded aluminum platform that trades the tall basket look for a low profile deck you can bolt almost anything to. This is the 72" x 51" version, built from extruded aluminum beams with internal bracing running the length of every perimeter and cross beam, so it carries load without a supporting subframe and without flexing. A dovetail extrusion runs around the full perimeter and along both edges of each internal beam, which is what separates it from a channel rack: accessories clamp in anywhere along the rail and come off again without sliding anything else out of the way. Removable corner caps let you run wiring inside the rack instead of cable tying it to the outside.
This listing is the rack platform on its own. It does not include the vehicle mounting kit, and without that kit there is no way to attach it to a roof. ARB sells the mount kit separately for each vehicle, and ARB also offers complete BASE Rack kits that bundle a platform, its mount and a deflector for one named vehicle. Order the matching mount kit for your truck at the same time, or you will receive a rack you cannot install.

Dovetail Mounting, Not A Channel A dovetail extrusion runs the full perimeter and both edges of every internal beam. Accessory clamps drop in at any point and lift out again without disturbing the rest of the load, and the profile does not pack with dust and grit the way an open channel does.
One Piece Welded Aluminum The platform is fully welded from extruded aluminum beams, corner caps excepted, with rigid internal bracing down the length of each beam. ARB builds it to need no supporting subframe and no additional cross bars.
Genuinely Low Profile A flat deck rather than a basket, sitting on low blade style mounts. It gives back the garage and drive through clearance that a tall cage rack costs you, and it looks like part of the truck instead of an add on.
Cross Beam Deck For Awkward Loads The beams run across the rack rather than along it, which gives long thin cargo such as timber, ladders and recovery boards a continuous surface to sit on instead of bridging a gap.
Wiring Runs Inside The Rack The corner caps come off so lighting and accessory cable can be fed through the beams and out of sight, rather than being cable tied along the outside of the rail.
Integrit Textured Black Powder Coat ARB's textured black finish over the whole platform. It hides the scuffs that roof loads inevitably leave and cleans up without showing swirl marks.

The platform arrives assembled, so the work is fitting the vehicle mount kit and then setting the rack onto it and torquing the fasteners. Follow ARB's fitting instructions for the mount kit, which is where the vehicle specific steps live. Two people make the lift far safer.

Will this rack fit my truck?
Not on its own. The BASE Rack is sold by deck size, and the vehicle specific part is the ARB BASE Rack mount kit that goes underneath it. You need the mount kit built for your vehicle plus this 72" x 51" platform. If you order only the platform you will receive a rack with no way to attach it.
How much can it carry?
ARB rates this platform at 386 lb (175 kg) dynamic. That is the rack's figure, not your truck's. ARB rates payload as a dynamic figure. The real ceiling is whichever is lower, the rack rating or your vehicle roof rating, and roof ratings are usually the lower of the two. Static load, when parked, is far higher, which is why rooftop tents work.
What makes the dovetail better than a T-slot channel?
You can clamp an accessory in at any point along the rail and take it off again without sliding everything else off the end first. The dovetail profile also sheds dirt instead of collecting it, so accessories still move months later.
Can I run wiring for lights through it?
Yes. The corner caps are removable so cable can be fed inside the beams and exit at a hidden point, which is how ARB intends light bars and work lights to be wired rather than cable tying a loom along the outside.
Do I need extra cross bars?
No. ARB builds strength into the beam design and states the rack needs no additional cross bars and no supporting subframe. The cross beam deck is the load surface.
What is the warranty?

Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
