Description & Fitment

A fully welded steel flat rack, 87" x 44" (2200 x 1120 mm), with cross bars and no raised perimeter. Oversized loads that would foul a cage rail sit flat, and gear can slide on from the rear. It is finished in Millennium powder coat over a zinc-rich primer. ARB says it fits any application that already takes an ARB roof rack of the same size, so a matching mounting kit you own will carry it. In the box: the 87" x 44" steel flat rack, stainless steel fitting hardware, a wind deflection panel and ARB fitting instructions. Not in the box: the vehicle mounting kit.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check before you buy: ARB lists a Classic mounting kit for your vehicle and roof that takes a 87" x 44" rack; the kit is sold separately. Classic sizes we list: steel cages 3800010 (87" x 50"), 3800020M (73" x 49", mesh), 3800050 (73" x 44"), 3813010 (70" x 44"), 3800120 (43" x 53"); steel 3800200 touring and 3800230 flat (87" x 44"); aluminum mesh 4900060M, 4900070M, 4913010M (cage) and 4913020M.

Not for: a vehicle without a matching ARB mounting kit, or loads above the lower of the rack rating and your vehicle's roof load limit.

Can I use my existing ARB mounting kit?

ARB says this flat rack is interchangeable with an existing ARB roof rack of the same dimensions, so a kit that carries an 87" x 44" ARB rack will carry it.

Is there a lighter flat rack this size?

Yes. The 4900070M is an 87" x 44" aluminum flat rack with a mesh floor.

Does the rack come with a mounting kit?

No. ARB sells its Classic racks and the vehicle mounting kits separately. You need the ARB kit made for your vehicle and roof type before the rack can go on.

How much can I carry on the roof?

Use the lower of two figures: the rack's own rating and your vehicle maker's roof load limit. The load includes everything strapped to the rack.

Can I take the rack off when I don't need it?

Yes. ARB designs the Classic racks to come off the mounting kit and go back on again.

What warranty applies?

ARB covers its Classic roof racks for 3 years with unlimited miles against defects in materials and workmanship.

    • ARB's warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty period, which starts on the date you bought the product from an authorized ARB retailer (the date on your receipt).
    • For a covered defect, ARB will repair or replace the faulty item at its own cost, or refund what you paid for it. ARB decides which.
    • Fit and use the product the way ARB's product information (instructions, safety notes, labels and packaging) directs, for the job it was designed for, and within vehicle safety and compliance laws.
    • Not covered: normal wear and tear; incorrect fitting; misuse, negligent use or overloading; poor or missing repair and maintenance; alteration, abuse, acts of nature, vandalism, collision, road hazards or adverse conditions; racing, rallying, hill climbs, speed trials or other competitive events, formal or informal; use in underground mining or other highly corrosive settings.
    • Commercial use (for example hire vehicles or mining) carries ARB's commercial term of 3 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, with the same 1-year or 25,000-mile limit on the wear items ARB lists.
    • Claims: contact us first and keep your purchase receipt. ARB accepts no claim without proof of purchase and asks that a fitted product stay on the vehicle until the claim has been reviewed.

Versatile & Robust Mesh Rack

This ARB mesh roof rack has been outstanding on my 4Runner. The aluminum and fully welded construction make it extremely robust and weather proof. Its also much less prone to failure than many of the other T-slot style racks on the market as there is no assembly of the rack(just 12 bolts mounted to the ARB mounting kit rails). The mesh rack came to me in great condition - powdercoat and welds were all perfect. With a bit of creativity, the mesh floor becomes super versatile. I get loads of comments and questions about this rack. I think it looks super clean!
