A roof rack light bar has a problem that a bumper light does not: mounted high and close to the vehicle, a conventional reflector throws light back off the hood and the bar work and blinds you. ARB tuned this reflector specifically to stop that. The result is 1 lux at 2388 ft with up to 196 ft of spread from a bar that sits 36" wide and low enough not to spoil the rack line. Half cup reflectors put the light down the road with a defined beam line, tuned into a spot and flood combination.
The body is extruded aluminum with high pressure die cast aluminum end caps, which is a heat sink first and a housing second, and it will take a hit from a low branch. The polycarbonate lens is lightly tinted so the bar looks like part of the rack rather than a bright stripe across the roof. Mounting uses the system built into the ARB BASE Rack, giving three positions: in front of the rack, above it, or tucked underneath where the rack protects it. Note that the light bar is designed around the BASE Rack mounting system; a rack is required, and if you also run a front section guard rail you will need ARB's 1780515 bracket pair to clear it.

Features
Reflector Tuned For Roof Mounting
The specific problem with a roof mounted bar is reflection off the hood and bar work washing out your night vision. ARB tuned the reflector to limit it, which is the engineering reason to choose this over a generic bar.
1 Lux At 2388 ft, 196 ft Spread
Real published numbers rather than a lumen figure. Distance down the road plus useful width at the sides.
Combo Beam, Defined Beam Line
Half cup reflectors tuned into a spot and flood combination, throwing a defined beam line down the road instead of a wash that lights the trees.
Aluminum Body As A Heat Sink
Extruded aluminum with high pressure die cast end caps. It manages LED heat, which is what actually determines how long a light bar lasts, and takes branch strikes.
Three Mounting Positions
In front of the rack, above it, or tucked underneath for protection and a hidden look. The BASE Rack mounting system is what makes that choice possible.
Tinted Lens, Stealth Look
A light tint on the virtually indestructible polycarbonate lens keeps the bar unobtrusive on the roof line when it is switched off.

Fit guidance: The light bar is designed around the ARB BASE Rack mounting system and is not a standalone bumper or bull bar light. Check whether you have a front guard rail, because that combination needs the 1780515 bracket pair.

Installation
Type: Mounts to the ARB BASE Rack mounting system · Time: 1-2 hours including wiring · Tools: Hex keys, metric sockets, wiring tools for the loom · Difficulty: Moderate
The mechanical mounting is quick because it uses the rack system. Wiring is the real work: this part number is the light bar only, so a wiring loom is needed. ARB sells the bar and loom together as a kit if you would rather not source one. Route the cable inside the rack beams through the removable corner caps.

About ARB
ARB started in 1975 when Tony Brown came home from a Cape York trip convinced that the four wheel drives crossing Australia deserved better equipment than anything then on sale. He began hand building roof racks and bull bars in his Melbourne driveway, and the initials of Anthony Ronald Brown ended up on what is now the largest 4x4 accessory manufacturer and distributor in the southern hemisphere. The engineering campus at Kilsyth in Victoria still designs and tests the load carrying, air and recovery equipment the brand is known for, and ARB now runs offices in the USA, Europe and the Middle East with an export network reaching more than 100 countries.
In North America ARB trades as Air Locker Inc. from Auburn, Washington, and backs its products with a published US and Canada warranty program. Prestige Truck is an authorized ARB dealer. Every rack, rail and bracket we ship is genuine US market stock covered by ARB North America's warranty and supported by ARB's own fitting instructions.
