Features

  • Matched to Baja Designs Plugs: Baja Designs uses a 2-pin plug on Squadron, S2 and S1 lights, a 3-pin plug on OnX6, S8 and XL, a 4-pin Deutsch-style plug on Squadron 2.0 and its own connectors on the LP series; each harness names the lights it fits.
  • Stated Load Limits: Baja Designs gives a maximum wattage or light count for its harnesses, in the title or description, so a setup stays inside safe limits.
  • Switch, Hi-Beam or Upfitter: Choose how the lights turn on: a toggle switch, a tap into the high beams, or leads for factory upfitter switches and modules such as sPOD and Switch-Pros.
  • Splitters and Extensions: Splitters run two or three lights from one lead, and extensions reach lights mounted farther from the battery.
  • Backlight and Mode Add-Ons: Add-on leads bring in the backlight on LP, S8 and Squadron 2.0 lights or a dimming mode on XL Pro and XL80 lights.
  • Warranty Passed Through to You: Baja Designs passes the maker's warranty on the harnesses, brackets and switches it resells through to you, and its tech team handles the claim.

About Baja Designs

BAJA DESIGNS

Baja Designs started in San Diego, California in 1992, founded by riders who raced the Baja 1000. Its engineers tuned race lights for night stages, which earned them the nickname The Scientists of Lighting, and in 2005 the company ran its first forward-projecting LED light bar in the Baja 1000.

Today Baja Designs lights trucks, Jeeps, SUVs, vans, UTVs and motorcycles. Its Lighting Zones method matches the lens pattern to the job and the mounting spot on the vehicle: dust and fog, cornering, driving, spot, rock and cargo, and reverse. Baja Designs is part of the Bestop Premium Accessories Group.

Authorized Baja Designs dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized Baja Designs dealer. Baja Designs says its full limited warranty does not apply to lights bought from unauthorized marketplace sellers; a purchase here carries it, and you can bring any claim to us first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the REFLEX Light Actuator Harness, Rocker Switch Universal Motor Actuator Adaptor Harness work with?

Baja Designs lists it for REFLEX light actuators. It is not tied to one vehicle.

Which harness kit should I choose?

Each choice is its own Baja Designs part: 3+ Multi Light 64-6306 and Single/Pair 64-6307.

Which harness does my light need?

Match the plug first: 2-pin for Squadron, S2 and S1; 3-pin for OnX6, S8 and XL; 4-pin Deutsch-style for Squadron 2.0; LP connectors for LP lights. Then stay within the harness's light count or wattage.

Do Baja Designs lights come with a harness?

Some do and some do not. Most single pods ship without one and name the matching harness, while many pairs and vehicle kits include it. Each light's page says which.

Can I run the lights from factory upfitter switches?

Yes, with an upfitter harness. Baja Designs makes upfitter versions for 2-pin, 3-pin, Squadron 2.0 and LP lights that connect to factory upfitter switches or modules such as sPOD.

Are harnesses covered by the warranty?

Baja Designs passes the maker's warranty on the harnesses, brackets and switches it resells through to you. Contact us and we will take the claim to Baja Designs.

Installation

DifficultyNot stated by Baja Designs
TypeNot stated by Baja Designs
ToolsNot stated by Baja Designs

Here's the short version. Follow Baja Designs' install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact positions, wiring and hardware.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (some vehicles have more than one battery). Pick a switch location with no wires or critical parts behind it and cut a 22mm x 44mm (7/8" x 1-3/4") hole (template at the end of the sheet). Unplug the battery and actuator leads from the switch portion of the harness, but do not press the switch in yet.
  2. Truck or car: route the battery lead from the engine bay into the cab and connect it to the switch lead with the red and black wires. UTV: connect the battery lead to that switch lead and route it toward the battery. Either way, run the ring terminals to the battery but do not connect them yet (a 10' extension, 64-0165, can be added if short).
  3. Truck or car: route the actuator lead from the engine bay into the cab and connect it to the switch lead with the white and black wires. UTV: connect the actuator lead to that switch lead. Route the lead(s) toward the actuators, adding an extension if needed.
  4. 3 or more actuators: starting with the actuator farthest from the actuator harness, link all actuators with the XL Linkable harness for your light count (e.g. 5XL for 5 lights) and connect it to the actuator harness, with the lights roughly 6" apart. 1 or 2 actuators: connect them directly; with a single actuator (10" S8 or OnX6+), bundle the unused lead away.
  5. Connect the red ring terminal to the positive battery cable and the negative ring terminal to the negative cable, then reconnect all battery cables.
  6. Test the actuators to find which way is up on the switch, press the switch into its hole with up facing up, secure all wiring with extra length in service loops away from sharp, hot or rotating parts, and re-torque all fasteners after 100 miles.
