BEDSLIDE Silver And Black Editions

BEDSLIDE made this one specifically to answer the question this product page raises: what is actually different between the Silver and the Black Edition. The short answer is the finish on the frame and rails and nothing else, and the video shows both trays side by side so you can decide which one you want in your bed.

BEDSLIDE LifeTime Warranty

BEDSLIDE walks through how the warranty works, including the part that catches people out. Every slide carries 5 years as standard, and registering the product within 30 days of purchase is what upgrades it to the lifetime term. It stays with the original owner and does not transfer if you sell the truck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Will the 95" x 48" fit my truck?

BEDSLIDE lists this size for Silverado / Sierra 8' Longbed (1970-Current), Ram 1500/2500/3500 8' Beds (1981-Current), F150 8' Bed (1970-Current), F250 / F350 SuperDuty 8' Bed (1998-Current), Titan 8' Bed (2004-2015), T-100 8' Bed (1993-1999) and Tundra 8' Bed (2007-Current). That said, BEDSLIDE fits by bed size and not by a vehicle specific kit, and the 95" x 48" figure is the OUTER dimension of the tray including the handle, built to a .25" tolerance. Measure the inside of your bed floor before you order. Bed liners, bed mats, wheel well intrusions and factory tie-down hardware all eat into the space the tray needs, and a drop-in liner in particular can be the difference between a fit and a return.

How far does it actually slide out?

75% of the deck length. That applies to the 1000 Classic, the 1500 Contractor and the 2000 Heavy Duty equally, so do not assume the higher capacity trays reach further, because they do not. If you want the deck to come all the way out, that is the MAX Extension range, which extends 100% and sits on a 7" profile rather than 4.5".

What does 2,000 lb capacity actually mean?

It means 2,000 lb spread evenly across the deck, which is how BEDSLIDE rates it and how the bearings are designed to see the load. It does not mean 2,000 lb stacked on one corner, and it does not mean 2,000 lb concentrated on the end of the deck at full extension, which is the worst case for any slide. Load it flat and load it spread out and this tray will do the rated number all day. Overloading it, or point loading it, is one of the things BEDSLIDE's warranty specifically excludes.

How does the warranty work?

Every BEDSLIDE comes with 5 years as standard, and registering the product with BEDSLIDE within 30 days of purchase upgrades that to a lifetime warranty. It is worth doing on the day it arrives, because the 30 day window is the whole condition. The lifetime cover stays with the original owner and does not transfer on resale. BEDSLIDE excludes misuse, exceeding the rated capacity, corrosion of the steel frame caused by exposure, de-lamination of the deck from water fuel or chemical spills, modifications that alter the design, improper installation, accidents and lack of maintenance.

How hard is it to install?

Reckon on about an hour, and get a second pair of hands because the tray weighs 280 lb and wants to go in square. It is a bolt-in installation into the bed floor. BEDSLIDE recommends a dealer install, and there are two traps worth knowing about: installing over a bed liner is not recommended because liners vary and the tray may need adjusting to sit right, and on an aluminum bed you need BEDSLIDE's aluminum bed kit, part BSA-HALUMKT, or the dissimilar metals will corrode.

What is the difference between the Silver and the Black Edition?

Finish only. Silver leaves the frame, the side rails, the guardrail and the BEDTRAX rails in bright anodized aluminum. The Black Edition powder coats those same parts black to match a black bed or a black liner. The deck, the capacity, the extension, the bearings, the tie-downs and the warranty are identical, and so is the installation. Pick whichever one you would rather look at. The photographs in this listing are labelled by finish, and the Black Edition frames and the Silver frames are both shown so you can see the actual difference before you choose.
