Description & Fitment

Made for the 2025-2026 Ram 1500 with the 3.0L I6 twin turbo standard output (Hurricane), automatic, Borla part 141031 replaces the factory exhaust from the catalytic converters back with an ATAK system. Check the cab and bed first: it covers Quad Cab 6'4" bed (140.5" WB), Crew Cab 5'7" bed (144.5" WB) or 6'4" bed (153.5" WB), 2WD/4WD, not High Output or GT package. No Borla tips come in the box: the tailpipes are made to reuse your factory tips. Borla's pipe spec reads 3" into dual 2.5", and the system finishes with a split rear exit with one tip on each side. It is built from T-304 stainless steel, and Borla rates ATAK as the loudest of its three sound levels.

Is ATAK the loudest Borla option?

Yes. Borla says ATAK produces the highest sound levels in its line. S-Type is a little tamer, and Touring is the mildest of the three.

What does ATAK stand for?

Acoustically-Tuned Applied Kinetics. It is Borla's name for mufflers built around solid and perforated cores whose shapes are tuned by computer modeling for the vehicle each system fits.

Do I need a shop to install it?

Borla's install sheets for these systems recommend an exhaust shop or professional installer, and they warn against air impact tools. Many also suggest a second person to hold the system up while it is hung. Some vehicles need the factory pipe cut; the Installation section on each product says whether yours does.

Can I send it back if I don't like the sound?

Borla does not warrant sound level, because how an exhaust sounds is a personal call, and it asks owners not to return a part for that reason. Settle on the sound level before you order. Borla notes that venturis, available from a retailer, can quiet a system later. For any other return question, contact us before you ship anything back.

Here's the short version. Follow Borla's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps.

  1. Lubricate all hangers, rubber isolators, bolts and nuts.
  2. Loosen the clamp that attaches the driver side tip assembly to the tailpipe and remove the tip assembly from the vehicle.
  3. Loosen the clamp that attaches the passenger side tailpipe assembly to the muffler assembly. Using a flathead screwdriver or a prybar, remove the hanger from the rubber isolator and remove the tailpipe from the vehicle.
  4. Not Shown: Remove the tip assembly from the passenger side tailpipe.
  5. Loosen and remove the hardware that attaches the muffler assembly to the vehicle and unclip grounding strap from hanger. Using a flathead screwdriver or a prybar, remove the hanger from the rubber isolator. Save hardware for installation of your Borla system.
  6. Use a muffler stand or an additional person to support the exhaust assembly. Then, using a flathead screwdriver or a prybar, remove the tailpipe assembly and muffler assembly hangers from their rubber isolators and remove the entire assembly from the vehicle. Note: without the vehicle on a lift, you may find it easier to cut the exhaust on the driver’s side close to the exit of the muffler assembly.

    Borla's Million-Mile Warranty covers this part for one million miles against flaws in its materials or workmanship.
    • Coverage belongs to the original purchaser of record, on the vehicle the part was first installed on.
    • Black coatings, tip finishes, carbon fiber and moving parts such as valves and actuators carry a one-year term. Blemishes or marring caused by weather, road hazards, lack of maintenance or extreme heat or cold are not covered.
    • Borla inspects the returned part, and when it finds a manufacturing or material defect it repairs or replaces the part, at Borla's option.
    • Sound level is not warranted, since sound is a matter of taste. Borla notes that venturis can be fitted to quiet a system.
    • Universal mufflers must be joined at their inlet and outlet necks. Welding to the case shell or end caps voids the warranty.

This is how a truck should sound coming off the assembly line. Cold starts are intense, but idles down after a short while. Love the real low throaty grumble. Inside the cab you can't tell at highway speeds unless you're hammering down the pedal. You want loud? Then stop second guessing yourself and buy it.

All I have to say is don’t bother reading reviews doing research and asking opinions from other people I did all that for you just go get it because it sounds amazing especially at wide open throttle it turned my 2016 5.0 f150 Platinum into a monster . If you don’t want to be noticed and ask questions about your truck don’t get it stay with your safe stock exhaust system because this will change the way you feel about and how you drive your truck trust me on that.

Really nice but a few issues.

I’ve only had two issues. The first was that one of the pipe sections was out of round and it took some persuading with my 3lb “pipe fitter” The other issue was that the nuts welded the the flange were not oriented properly and there was no way to fasten the bolts without cross threading the bolts. I ended up drilling the out and using my own hardware. Other than that, I exhaust note is perfect. No drone but still a nice throaty tone that suits the trucks current modifications.

Borla ATAK Silverado 6.2

If you’re on the fence about the Atak or the S-type, definitely go with the Atak. The sound is phenomenal, cold starts bring huge smiles, and under acceleration you feel almost giddy. There is a reason you are contemplating this system, go with your gut, and you won’t ever have to say to yourself, “ the S-type sounds good, but I wonder how much better the Atak might have sounded”

Borla!

I went with the black chrome dual side passenger exit to be different. I can't speak to on installation though because I took the system to my muffler shop i use and had mine installed there on my 14 Rado LTZ. From each cold start to rompin the accelerator through town you'll have a smile on your face and you'll be turning heads! No regrets with this system. If you've got the money saved up, I highly recommend this Atak System if you drive a Chevy. Packaging was even impressive as each peace was nestled in its own foam insert to protect the integrity of the metal from damage. Don't know about who delivers your presents when they come shipped, but where I live they can be aggressive dropping off packages so I appreciated the attention to detail with how Borla thought ahead on that front where Packaging was concerned.

I’m super pleased with how this turned out. Sounds amazing and the black tip compliment my truck very well. It’s a deep sounding grumble and it sounds incredible. I’m gonna maximize the sound with new intake, cam, and headers so I have a ways to go. That being said install wasn’t as easy as the dudes in the video make it seem. If there is a good amount of rust underneath, removing the stock clamp is a total pain. I ended up cutting it and ordering a new clamp. Other than that, easy install

Almost like a straight pipe!

Sounds so good! If a straight pipe is a 10 this is a solid 9. Easy easy install. Depending on how rusty your truck is you might have to cut the stock clamp. I can tell a performance difference in the truck as well. Don't hesitate just spend the money and get a good exhaust like this.

Worth every penny, NO DRONE!

This is a beautiful looking and sounding exhaust. The 10-20 second cold start idle is loud, but short. Once it settles down in a few seconds, it's quiet and rumbly. When you punch it, everyone around will hear you coming. But while cruising and not driving aggressively, it's quieter than I thought. You can have conversations while driving as well, but all hell breaks loose once you're wide open. Did I mention zero drone? THERE IS NO DRONE AND I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Exhausts this loud and aggressive usually have drone to match, but Borla did their homework to ensure we don't suffer while listening to that exhaust snarl. Follow the video and have the necessary tools they mention in the video and it's an easy removal and install. You may need some help removing the stock exhaust as one unit as it's pretty heavy. Best Decision

Love the way my V8 F150 sounds now! It never fails to put on a smile on my face. I receive so many compliments on the exhaust. I was tied between the S-Type and the ATAK, but I went for the ATAK. Cold starts are definitely loud in the morning, but they’re really not that bad especially once it idles down after a few minutes. I haven’t received any complaints from neighbors; and passengers love the tone in the cabin when increasing the throttle. If you want to enjoy every second of your V8 engine, go with this exhaust.

Amazing sound

You can’t go wrong with the Borla ATAK. My dad had this exhaust on his Ford Mustang GT and it was the greatest thing I’d ever heard so I decided to put it on my wrangler. Sounds so great! Of course it’s a V6 so you aren’t getting that idle tone but when I get on the pedal this thing ROARS!!!! The tips are beautiful too! Turns that ugly single exhaust into something that looks like 2.

Borla Atak 2026 GMC AT4 6. 2L

Overall the quality of the materials and welds are what you would expect from Borla, top notch Grade A!! The sounds is crisp and clean and makes the truck sound like a truck should. Deep rumble at idle and aggressive on acceleration but nice and tame at cruising speeds with ZERO drone. My truck is equipped with a Range device so I can’t speak to the sound of the exhaust when cylinders are deactivated with the DFM. My only complaint is due to the way the Y-pipe is made and how the tips are attached, it is very difficult to get the tips even and looking uniform. I am likely going to have to trim one piece of pipe to allow for more adjustment to get the tips even. Other than what I mentioned about the tips, I am very satisfied with the quality and sound of the Borla Atak.

A little loud but I love it

Did a lot of research on brands and glad I chose the Borla. I did the install myself and it was easy but I recommend you have access to a lift. The fit was perfect. The sound is a tad more aggressive than I wanted on hard acceleration especially from slow speeds but I'm getting used to it. Cabin drone is minimal at highway speeds and with the radio on I don't really notice it. Overall I'm happy with my choice.

Borla atak on 2017 Silverado ltz

Bought this set for my truck as I've had a borla set up on my s550 mustang and love the look sound and quality of borlas exhaust systems. They are top notch. My only gripe with this set up is when the truck revs past 4k and the truck shifts gears the exhaust pops LOUD in between shifts....its a truck not a wrx rally car....idk...I love the set up it sounds incredible on a cold start and anytime else. Just dont dig the pop when truck shifts into overdrive.

Borla Atak

Best exhaust on the market. I love the sound, it sounds incredible. I installed it myself at home and it took and afternoon because it was my first time, but if you have experience it should only take about an hour.

It was very easy to install and sounds amazing. It would be nice if borla included the main flange that is part of the original exhaust it’s hard to keep it from getting bent when taking the old one out

Not hard to make a 5.0 sound good but if you want aggressive option that is still tolerable cruising go for atak.

Borla Exhaust

I was pleasntly surprised with quality and sound of the Borla system. I always did flowmasters in the past. The sounds more like a grown up exhaust system, not to loud until you really press on the gas. Worth the purchase!

Looks and sounds awesome!!! Great fit and tips look like it was factory installed. Sound is incredible and the install was very easy. It has a great low rumble especially upon a cold start.

Everything fits right, arrived fast but if I had to do it again I’d go with another exhaust system. They claim it’s loud but I’ve heard louder for less money.

Love it

Love the sound and the exhaust, only set back is I installed myself and where the “Predrilled” hole is was where my factory hitch is installed so I had to take my truck to have the bracket installed because I don’t have the proper socket or torque ability to remove the bolt and nut. This being said my driver side hangs slightly lower BUT I do love the way the truck sounds now.

Great exhaust

Love the sound! Can’t hear it in the cab drone when cruising. Everything went together great. Just wish it came with the extra piece for the 4 door cab trucks. But other than that it was great. Love it
