The Borla ATAK CrateMuffler for GM Small Block High Output (350/383/406 CID) is a performance muffler tuned to suit one crate or custom engine family. It is built from T-304 stainless steel on CNC equipment. Its engine family, sound level and dimensions are listed in the specifications on this page. This listing is Borla part 400844.
The muffler ships on its own; pipes, clamps, hangers and the optional Borla bracket kit are sold separately.
Features
Tuned to an engine family
Each CrateMuffler is matched to a particular engine family, such as a popular small block or big block V8, so the sound suits the motor it is paired with.
Directional flow design
These mufflers flow in one direction. The end with the welded mounting bracket is the outlet, which makes orientation easy to confirm during installation.
Drone control on cataloged builds
Borla states that on the applications it catalogs, the CrateMuffler design cuts interior drone down or removes it.
T-304 stainless steel
Borla builds every CrateMuffler from T-304 stainless steel instead of 400-series steel, for corrosion resistance and a long life.
Precise CNC-controlled manufacturing
Computer-controlled manufacturing keeps dimensions consistent so the muffler fits your fabricated system as specified.
Million-Mile Warranty coverage
Every CrateMuffler comes with Borla's Million-Mile Warranty.

Warranty, Shipping & Returns
Warranty. Borla covers its products under the Million-Mile Warranty, which protects the original purchaser of record, on the vehicle the part was first installed on, against defects in materials or workmanship for a million miles. Carbon fiber, black coatings, tip finishes and moving parts such as valves and actuators carry a one-year term, and appearance blemishes from weather, road hazards, lack of maintenance or temperature extremes are not covered. When Borla's inspection confirms a defect, Borla repairs or replaces the part at its option. The warranty does not pay for removal or reinstallation, does not apply to parts damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication or modification, and does not cover sound level, because sound is a matter of taste. Shipping. The carrier and ship method are set by the size and weight of the carton when the order is placed; long exhaust systems ship in oversize cartons. Inspect on delivery. Please inspect the carton and the part as soon as it arrives, before installation, and report any shipping damage to us right away so we can make it right.
Returns. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, return shipping is on us. See our Returns & Refunds Policy, or email support@prestigetruck.com with any question.
About Borla
Borla got its start in 1978 building exhaust systems for concours-grade Rolls-Royce and Ferrari classics. Over more than four decades that work grew into a performance exhaust brand for the cars and trucks people drive today.
More than 300 Borla employees design and build the product line, and Borla says the product is genuinely made in the USA and sold worldwide. GM, Ford and Toyota are among the vehicle makers that have sourced factory-installed aftermarket exhaust systems from Borla.
At its test and development center, Borla works through muffler body shapes, internal core layouts, flow and acoustics, and that effort has produced a long list of US patents. Many of the people who build and support Borla parts spend weekends competing at drag strips, car shows and off-road events.
