Aggressive when you want it

S-Type is the sound most people picture when they think of Borla. Press the throttle and the note turns hard and aggressive, then it relaxes into a more refined tone once you settle into a steady speed.

Tuned around your platform

Borla does not drop a universal muffler into a stock pipe. Each S-Type system is shaped, routed and tuned on the vehicle it fits, then built in T-304 stainless steel so it holds its shape and finish through years of road salt and heat.

A finish that fits

Where a system carries Borla tips, the finish choices for that vehicle are offered as options on the product page. Tips are sized and positioned for the vehicle's bumper, so the exhaust looks like it belongs there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

What does S-Type sound like?

S-Type is Borla's signature tone. It has a strong, aggressive edge when you accelerate and calms to a more refined note while cruising.

Is S-Type louder than Touring?

Yes. S-Type sits between Touring, the mildest level, and ATAK, the loudest Borla sound level.

Are the factory catalytic converters kept?

Yes. The system begins behind the catalytic converters, which stay in place.

Do all S-Type systems come with tips?

Not all. Depending on the vehicle, a system may come with Borla tips, end in a turndown, or reuse the factory tips. The options for this application are listed on the product page and in the fit notes.

What is excluded from the Million-Mile Warranty?

Tip finishes, black coatings, carbon fiber, valves and actuators have a one-year term, and cosmetic wear from weather or road hazards is excluded. Borla also does not warrant sound level or cover removal and reinstallation costs.

How do I confirm fitment?

Compare your year, engine, drivetrain and cab or body configuration with the fitment table and fit notes on the product page. Some applications list extension pipes or other parts that are needed for certain configurations.
