- SumoSprings Cushioning: A SumoSpring, a microcellular polyurethane spring, sits between truck and trailer to absorb bumps, chucking and vibration. B&W says its custom compound was tested in freezing weather down to -20° F.
- Dual-Axis Cushioning: The cushioning works up-and-down and side-to-side, so starts, stops and rough roads reach the truck softened.
- Latches Itself: Lower the funnel-shaped coupler onto the ball and it latches on its own; it resets itself when you unhitch, and the funnel helps when the alignment is off.

Description & Fitment
RVGN3163 lets an RV with a Lippert Rhino pin box mounting plate hook to a gooseneck ball. It is B&W's 25K adapter in the Rhino version, rated at 25,000 lb trailer weight and 3,250 lb maximum pin weight, with SumoSpring cushioning and a self-latching coupler.
Fitment & Compatibility
Check your fit: your RV's pin box mounting plate is one of these: Lippert Rhino pin box mounting plates; and your loaded pin weight stays within 3,250 lb. Two 42" safety chains with hooks come with the adapter; B&W calls for the 51-1/2" RVXA3141 kit on a Ram HD pickup that has the prep package, or wherever more length is needed.
Not for: the other versions: RVGN3153 (Standard pin box, 3,250 lb max pin weight); RVGN3154 (Standard pin box, 4,500 lb max pin weight); RVGN3164 (Rhino pin box, 4,500 lb max pin weight). Not included: the RVXA3141 long safety chain kit.
About B&W Trailer Hitches
Roger Baker and Joe Works founded B&W Trailer Hitches in 1987, working out of a garage where they built custom truck beds; the company name comes from their initials. Customers wanted a gooseneck ball that would not sit welded in the middle of the bed, and their answer was the Turnoverball: it mounts beneath the bed, and the ball flips over to stow in the same hole it tows from. The Companion fifth wheel hitch came next and uses the same under-bed mounting.

Which pin box plates does RVGN3163 fit?
B&W lists Lippert Rhino pin box mounting plates. For Lippert 1621, 1621HD, 1116 or 1716 plates, choose a Standard version instead.
Is the 3,250 lb pin weight version right for me?
B&W says the lower pin weight model gives the better ride and is the right pick in most cases. Keep your loaded pin weight at or under 3,250 lb.
Does using it affect my trailer frame warranty?
B&W's answer is no: it engineered and tested the adapter for a smooth, stable ride that lowers stress on both the truck and the trailer.
What upkeep does it need?
Before each trip: look over the bolted connections and grease the ball if it needs it. At 2,500-mile intervals: pump grease into the four articulating joints via the angled fittings until a little shows at the joint ends. Yearly: grease the coupler at its straight fitting, cycle the latch handle several times, then leave it at Couple/Tow.
Will it work in a bed with a recessed box?
In most cases, yes. B&W says the ball needs roughly 5.5" of space from any obstruction so the coupler has room.
How much bed clearance will I have?
B&W puts a typical installation at 6" to 10" of bed clearance.
