How does PUCP7502BA install?
B&W's sheet has you drill 5/16" holes through the bed sides, anchor the bed protectors, set the cab protector on them and splice its harness into the truck wiring. Torque the 1/2" cap screws to 80 ft-lb, carriage bolt nuts to 18 ft-lb and cab protector nuts to 20 ft-lb.
What does a cab protector actually protect?
Your cab and the people in it. If a heavy load shifts forward, the protector and the rear glass are what stop it, which is why B&W builds these heavy-duty.
Are the lights wired to the truck?
Yes, the LED lights are wired into the truck. Where B&W publishes an install sheet for the part number, it has you splice the protector's harness into the truck's wiring; contact us for help with yours.
Will I need to drill?
On the part numbers with a B&W install sheet, yes: 5/16" holes go into the bed rails or sides to anchor the bed protectors, so check under the rail for lights or wires first. For the others, contact us before you order and we will confirm with B&W.
Does one cab protector fit every truck?
No. Each B&W cab protector is made for specific truck models, so match your part number to your truck's make, model and years.
Installation
- Torque wrench, 1/2" and 9/16" sockets, 5/16" drill bit and drill
- PUCP7502BA and PUCP7543BA also call for a 3/4" socket and wiring equipment (B&W install sheets)
Here's the short version. Follow B&W's install sheet (below) for the exact positions and hardware.
- Set the bed protectors on the bed sides and check that the center-to-center stud measurement matches the cab protector slots within 1/2".
- Fit a mounting bracket into each stake pocket under the plastic bed-rail cover, threaded hole toward the cab, and center it on the stake-pocket hole.
- Check under the rail, then drill through the bed sides with a 5/16" bit using the square holes in the bed protectors as a pilot.
- Fit the 1/2" cap screw through each bed protector, push the protector toward the cab and tighten the cap screw to 80 ft-lbs.
- Fit a 5/16" x 1-1/2" carriage bolt with washers and finish nut in each drilled hole and tighten each nut to 18 ft-lbs.
- Set the cab protector in place, splice its harness into the vehicle wiring, then tighten the 6 cab protector nuts to 20 ft-lbs.

Before drilling, set the bed protectors and cab protector on the truck to confirm the fit, and check under the rail for lights, wires or other obstructions at each drill spot. Check it as soon as it arrives.- Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
