When a heavy load shifts forward, the cab protector and the rear glass are all that stand between the load and the people in the cab. B&W builds these to be stronger than they look like they need to be, which is the correct way round for a part whose failure mode is somebody getting hurt.

Not a universal rack with adjustable feet. This part number is dimensioned for 2020-2025 Chevrolet and GMC 2500 and 3500, so the uprights land where the bed rail structure can take them and the profile follows the back of the cab. That is what makes it look like it came with the truck rather than like it was added afterwards.

Four LED Lights Across the Top
Integrated into the top rail rather than bolted on, so there is nothing sticking out to catch and no aftermarket bracket to rust. They add rear visibility and they make the truck easier to see on a jobsite, which is where these racks spend most of their lives.

Tie-Down Brackets and Grab Handles

Installation

At about 130 lb this is not a solo lift. Have a second person, and if you can, have the rack supported while you start the fasteners rather than holding it. Wiring the LEDs is a simple circuit but it should be fused and routed away from the exhaust and any moving part. Work from B&W's installation instructions for this part number, linked in the Resources section. Recheck the fasteners after the first loaded trip, which is standard practice for anything bolted to a bed and is when a missed torque shows up.

B&W warrants its products to the original consumer purchaser, for as long as that purchaser owns the product, against defects in material and workmanship. About B&W Trailer Hitches

B&W Trailer Hitches started in 1987 in a Humboldt, Kansas garage, where Roger Baker and Joe Works built the first Turnoverball gooseneck hitch. Will it fit my truck?

It fits 2020-2025 Chevrolet and GMC 2500 and 3500. There are exclusions worth reading before you order: Trucks with the CarbonPro composite bed are excluded. Do the LED lights come wired?

The lights are integrated into the top rail and come with the rack. You will need to run and fuse the feed into the truck's wiring, which is a simple job but should be done properly: fused at the source, routed away from the exhaust and away from anything that moves. If you are not comfortable with vehicle wiring, this is the part of the installation worth paying somebody for.

Can one person install it?

Not comfortably. It weighs about 130 lb, and the awkward part is holding it in position while you start the fasteners. Two people and something to rest it on makes it a straightforward couple of hours.

Does it block my rear view?

Less than a solid rack does. The panel is horizontal slats rather than a sheet, so you still get a usable view through the rear glass, which matters if you back a trailer. It is not the same as an empty bed, but it is a long way from a blank wall.

Will it still work with a tonneau cover or a toolbox?

It depends entirely on the cover or box, because the rack occupies the front few inches of the bed and mounts to the rail structure there. B&W publishes no compatibility list for combinations, so the honest answer is to measure your bed and check what your cover or box needs at the bulkhead before ordering both.

Does it ship by freight?
