The Dual Ball Pintle is the Tow & Stow built for the trailers that do not have a ball coupler. It gives you a 2" ball, a 2-5/16" ball and a pintle plate on the same adjustable, stowable body, so one hitch covers the equipment trailer with a lunette ring, the dump trailer with a 2-5/16" coupler and the utility trailer with a 2". Hooking up to a ring is about as simple as towing gets: drop the ring over the ball, drop the plate into place, and lock it. This TS20053B is the 2.5" shank version with 6.5" of drop, sized for three-quarter-ton and one-ton pickups. Capacity is published per ball rather than as one number: 21,000 lb GTW and 2,100 lb tongue weight on the 2-5/16" ball, and 7,500 lb GTW with 750 lb tongue weight on the 2" ball. The pintle function is rated only with the 2-5/16" ball rotated into the towing position, because that is the only position in which the plate drops down over the ring. Everything else is Tow & Stow: two pins set the height for a level tow, one pin rotates the balls, the head stows behind the bumper when the trailer stays home, and the whole thing is built by B&W in Humboldt, Kansas.

Features
Ball and Pintle in One Hitch Two ball sizes and a pintle plate on the same body. Slide the trailer's lunette ring over the ball, drop the plate down over it, and lock the plate. It is faster than a conventional pintle hook and it means the ring trailer and the ball trailers all hook to the same hitch, so nothing has to be swapped in a muddy yard.
The Pintle Works With the 2-5/16" Ball Only This is the detail worth reading twice. The plate is designed to drop into place over the 2-5/16" ball, so pintle-ring towing is rated only in that position at 21,000 lb gross trailer weight and 2,100 lb vertical. Rotate the smaller ball into position and you are a ball-mount hitch again, rated 7,500 lb on the 2" ball. Do not try to tow a ring on the small ball.
Rated Per Ball, Not Per Hitch B&W publishes capacity per ball because the ball in use sets the limit: 21,000 lb gross trailer weight and 2,100 lb tongue weight on the 2-5/16" ball, 7,500 lb and 750 lb on the 2" ball. Your real ceiling is still the lowest-rated part of the setup, which on a 2.5" shank truck is often the receiver or the truck itself.
Height Adjusts on Pins, No Tools Pull the adjustment pins, slide the head to the height that tows the trailer level, and re-pin. Invert the shank in the receiver when you need the ball above the receiver instead of below it. Level matters more on heavy work trailers than on anything else, because an unlevel trailer moves load off the axles it belongs on.
Stows Behind the Bumper The Dual Ball Pintle is a big, heavy head, which makes stowing it worth more than it is on the standard hitch. Rotate it up when the trailer stays home and it is out of shin range and out of the way of overhead doors.
Slide-Pin Security Once the hitch is locked into your receiver, the swing arm cannot be removed, and a slide-pin retention system keeps the arm and the balls attached even with the adjustment pins out. B&W builds a pin lock specifically for this hitch, the TS51242, which also fits the Continuum weight distribution hitch.
Tested to SAE J-684 Every Tow & Stow, including the Dual Ball Pintle, is tested for strength and endurance to SAE J-684, the standard for bumper-pull hitches.

Fit guidance: This is a universal-fit hitch rather than a vehicle-specific kit: it fits any truck with a 2-1/2" square receiver, whatever the make, model or year. Measure the receiver opening with any reducer sleeve pulled out, because B&W warns a sleeve lowers the tow rating and adds play and noise. On the trailer side, check the ring: pintle rings vary in inside diameter and B&W's plate is sized for standard lunette rings, so measure yours if it is unusual. Set the drop by measuring from the ground to the top of the receiver opening and from the ground to the bottom of the loaded coupler or ring. Keep at least 11" of ground clearance under the lowest part of the hitch.

Installation
Type: Drop-in. The shank slides into a 2-1/2" square receiver and pins in place, no tools and no drilling · Time: About 5 minutes the first time · Tools: None for the hitch itself. A hitch pin and clip, or a locking pin, is needed to secure the shank in the receiver and is sold separately · Difficulty: Easy, no mechanical experience needed
Slide the shank into your 2-1/2" receiver and secure it with a hitch pin and clip or a locking pin. Measure your receiver opening with any reducer sleeve removed before you order: B&W warns that running a reducer sleeve lowers the tow rating of the hitch and adds noise and play. To set the height, pull the two adjustment pins, slide the head up or down, and replace the pins. To change ball size, pull the single pin, rotate the ball you want into position, and replace the pin. B&W asks for at least 11" of clearance between the ground and the lowest part of the hitch, and recommends a thin coat of white lithium grease on the stainless pins so they keep pulling freely.

About B&W Trailer Hitches
B&W Trailer Hitches started in 1987 in a garage in Humboldt, Kansas, where Roger Baker and Joe Works, the B and the W, were building custom truck beds. They got tired of the gooseneck ball welded permanently into the middle of a bed, so they designed one that turned over and stowed flush when the trailer stayed home. That was the Turnoverball, and it is still the product the company is best known for. A few years later the same under-bed mounting idea became the Companion fifth wheel hitch, and today B&W builds the Turnoverball, the Companion, the Tow & Stow and the Continuum weight distribution hitch in a plant in Humboldt that has grown past 490,000ft². Every hitch is still made in the United States from American steel, which B&W points out makes it one of the last remaining hitch makers in America.
Since 2007 the company has been 100% employee-owned, with roughly 500 employee-owners in Kansas. That shows up in how the products get tested. B&W treats SAE J-2638 for gooseneck and fifth wheel hitches as a floor rather than a finish line: instead of using a fresh hitch for each test, it puts a single hitch through all three of the 300,000-cycle dynamic tests and then the six static tests, so the part that passes has already lived a hard life. The Tow & Stow line is tested for strength and endurance to SAE J-684, the standard for bumper-pull hitches. Everything B&W builds is backed by the company's Lifetime Exclusive Limited Warranty, handled directly by B&W in Kansas.
Prestige Truck is an authorized B&W Trailer Hitches dealer. Every hitch, ball mount and accessory we ship is new, genuine B&W product, covered by the full B&W factory warranty and supported by B&W's own US-based customer service team.
Choosing The Right Tow & Stow
B&W's guide to measuring your receiver and the drop you need across the Tow & Stow line.
The measuring method is the same for the Dual Ball Pintle. This one is the 2.5" shank with 6.5" of drop.
The Tow & Stow In Use
Setting the height on the pins, rotating the swing arm to change ball size and stowing the head behind the bumper.
The routine is identical on the Dual Ball Pintle, with the addition of the plate that drops over a lunette ring when the 2-5/16" ball is in the towing position.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
How does the pintle part work?
Rotate the 2-5/16" ball into the towing position, slide the trailer's lunette ring over the ball, then drop the plate down over the ring and pin it. The plate captures the ring so it cannot jump off, which is what lets B&W rate the pintle function for heavier loads than a plain ball. The plate only drops into place with the 2-5/16" ball in position, so ring towing is a 2-5/16" ball operation only.
How much can it tow?
It depends which ball you are on. With the 2-5/16" ball, 21,000 lb gross trailer weight and 2,100 lb vertical, and that is also the pintle rating. With the 2" ball, 7,500 lb gross trailer weight and 750 lb tongue weight. Your real limit is the lowest-rated item in the chain, which includes your truck's tow rating, the receiver, the coupler or ring and the trailer.
Which shank size do I need?
This one has a 2.5" shank and needs a 2-1/2" square receiver. B&W builds the Dual Ball Pintle in two sizes, this and the TS10053B with a 2" shank, so measure the receiver opening with any reducer sleeve pulled out before ordering.
Is there a 1-7/8" ball on it?
No. The Dual Ball Pintle carries a 2" ball and a 2-5/16" ball only. If you also tow small utility or jet-ski trailers with a 1-7/8" coupler, B&W's tri-ball Tow & Stow models carry all three ball sizes, but they do not have the pintle plate.
Which lock and which replacement pins fit it?
B&W builds a pin lock specifically for this hitch and the Continuum weight distribution hitch, part TS51242. The Tow & Stow 3-Pin Lock (TS51241) does not fit the Dual Ball Pintle, and B&W says so explicitly. The replacement adjustment pin for the 2" and 2-1/2" shank Dual Ball Pintle is TS35014, which is a different part from the standard Tow & Stow pin. To lock the shank in the receiver, use the stainless receiver lock TS51230.
What is the warranty?
B&W's Lifetime Exclusive Limited Warranty: for as long as the original consumer owns it, B&W will replace a product or component with a defect in material or workmanship, or at its option repair it or refund the purchase price. Installation, removal and shipping costs are not covered, and claims go directly to B&W with a return authorization.

Look is great. 100 lbs
Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

A must have
I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.

The toolbox is nice. I think Ill get a lot of years of service out of it. I like how the lid opens and the tie downs are a nice touch. It seems to be well built. And tough. Im pleased with my purchase and would buy another one.
