Fits the same truck
A short features and benefits film for the Trifecta 2.0. It walks the cover top to bottom, the vinyl tarp, the aluminum frame and hinges, the seals and the clamps.
A full install filmed on a Mitsubishi L200, a truck not sold in North America, running 9 minutes 48 seconds. The bed is different but the clamp and seal steps are the ones you will follow.
A second install walkthrough, this one on a 2022 Toyota Tundra, running about six minutes. Watch this one if you drive a full-size truck and want a shorter run through the same job.
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Release the rear EZ-Lock clamps at the tailgate end and fold the cover forward toward the cab. That opens about two-thirds of the bed. Secure the folded cover with both buckle straps before you drive. For a load that needs the whole bed, release the front Jaw-Grip clamps too and lift the cover off, no tools needed.
It is designed to. The tarp is a marine-grade, moisture-resistant vinyl and the snap-on triple-fin seals block seepage along the bed rails, at the bulkhead and at the tailgate. Like any soft cover it is weather-resistant rather than watertight, so keep anything that cannot get damp in a bag or bin. Clear snow and ice off the top before you fold it open.
No. The Trifecta 2.0 clamps to the inside of the bed rails with Jaw-Grip clamps at the front and EZ-Lock clamps at the rear, both tightened by hand. Extang rates the job Level 1 and puts it at under an hour. The hardware and an install sheet come in the box. Trucks such as the Ridgeline, Gladiator and newer Ranger use their own supplemental sheet.
Silicone is the thing to avoid. Anything with silicone in it, Armor All included, pulls the moisture out of the vinyl and it cracks. Extang lists that as a warranty exclusion. For routine cleaning use soap and water or Extang's own Tonno Tonic, the cleaner it has tested and approved for this vinyl.
Yes, as long as you order the right version. Extang makes the Trifecta 2.0 in separate part numbers for beds with RamBox side storage, Utili-track, deck rails, a cargo management system or a CarbonPro bed, plus versions for beds without those features. Choose the matching option in the fitment selector. The RamBox version assumes the factory silver cargo rails are fitted.
No. The Trifecta 2.0 is a soft cover and Extang publishes no weight capacity for the top. Extang's warranty is void if cargo pushes up against the tarp or panels, since a shifting load stresses the fabric. Keep tall items below the rail line or fold the cover open and buckle it before you drive. Extang also says not to tow the truck from the rear with the cover on.

I wanted a semi to hard cover for the new Tundra, asked the Toyota fam and everyone said 2.0. Install took longer to read than it did to install, super simple and easy. Thought bed rails would be an issue, they make it easier to use. Not 100% water tight, but 95-97% is a fair enough score. Put 6000+ miles on it in a month and this was the first purchase.
I've had this same kind of cover for my old truck for 10 years and haven't had a single issue. This new cover is a bit disappointing. The locking springs are annoying to set in place. I have an issue with water intruding into my tailgate, and I have a minor defect in my cover, almost like a little bubble.
This is the 4th Extang soft trifold cover I’ve owned. Overall pretty good except the upfront clamps are smaller than my last cover which allows it to shift from where I originally had it tightened. The rear clamps tend to be a little fidgety when clamping. The driverside clamp will not hold down tightly and allows water to come in under the rubber side rail seal. When winter comes I’m sure snow will blow in as well. I don’t think I’d buy another of this brand, especially for the premium price I paid.
Directions for installation where spot on which made installation a breeze. Outstanding customer service correcting a mistake by me when I miss measured on my initial order. Which made the entire purchase just over the top successful.
Nice cover and installation was easy. My brother in law has the Extang Trifecta cover on his truck as well and is happy with it also.
Bought for my son's truck, perfect size, easy to install and looks great!
Easy to install, looks great just don’t see a lot of theses for this model truck, easy to use, recommend to anyone on a 1973 to 1979 ford trucks
The cover came quickly and in perfect shape. The customer service during my order was terrific also. The new cover looks great fit perfectly and keeps the truck bed dry as can be and we have experienced some bad rain storms here in the East. I highly recommend this cover it is my second one in 14 years. Installed the cover in 5 minutes.
The rear spring latches constantly stick and when you actually get them to draw tight they do not stay that way. I am always having to mess with them so the cover doesn't flutter. The other thing is that the corner foam seems to always fall off. Luckily I catch it and stick them back on. I do not remember having these problems with my old Extang branded cover. I guess that's what you get when private equity takes over.
I appreciate the quick turnaround time for shipping the cover, and it arrived in great shape. It was exactly what I needed, a perfect fit, and it was a great price.
Great cover for my 2000 Mazda B3000. Easy to install and secures my musical equipment great.. Thanks so much!!
Installed a Extang Trifecta 2.0 Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover on my 2020 GMC Sierra 1500. Installation was simple, fit was perfect and the cover provided a dry environment during wet weather. Added bonus was an increase in fuel mileage during highway travel. I am totally satisfied with the product and Summit's retail experience.
I was really drawn to the ease of taking this thing on and off. I wanted it to potentially help with fuel economy, and to keep things in my bed from blowing out or being pilfered, but I also often haul piles of logs and such, so I needed to be able to remove and reinstall it often and easily. In this regard it couldn’t be simpler, no sweat at all. Additionally it feels high quality and looks great.
I really love the cover and it came quickly and is an exact fit . It was easy to install and looks great. It is very quick and easy to fold back or even remove the entire thing by myself. I am just very pleased with this product and the price was right.
This is our fourth Extang and third Trifecta. They stand behind their warranty. Not crazy about the hold down latch redesign, but otherwise still a great product.
Love my cover keeps all of our thing dry and safe
Bought the Trifecta 2. 0 soft folding cover for my GMC Sierra Denali and am very pleased. High quality, perfect fit, and very easy one person installation. Engineered design is excellent 👍
Installation was a breeze, thats about all the good. This is an extremely light duty cover. Unlike most similar covers, this on attaches in the middle of the 1st panel to the sides of the bed, not the front/ bulkhead. The front panel can not be lifted, it has to be removed. I will be modifying mine with a piano hinge and some reinforcement to allow the first panel to raise - letting the cover fold flat against the back glass. Use the full bed when needed without having to find somewhere to stow the cover. Shipping took a full month longer than advertised, HD management was nice enough to partially discount it flr my trouble - great staff, great store - mediocre product from a less than stellar 3rd party vendor.
Looks awesome and easy to install!!! Highly recommend it!
I like how easy it is to remove, just two wing nuts that only need to be hand tightened. I had a concern with snow and ice making it difficult to use in the winter. It’s been no problem at all, the snow and ice don’t stick to the material and cleans off nice.
Outstanding tonneau cover. Super happy with this cover for my new Jeep Gladiator. Works great, highly recommended.
Purchased for a 2025 Ford Ranger. My local detailing shop recommended this brand and model. Fits well. Shortly after installing, I got caught in heaving rain storms. I looked inside the bed afterwards and it was completely dry inside.
It fits my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado crew cab new body style perfectly. I was slightly worried that the back wouldn’t snug down right along the tailgate since the clamps sit farther forward than I would like. It comes with 2 sets of brackets you can bolt to your truck so that it does latch down farther back, but I elected to use the existing rails on my truck rather than installing new brackets. I’ve taken it through the car wash 8 times since installing it and I only get minimal drops of water on the tailgate end. Happy with it and would buy it again.
Easy to put on and looks good
I purchased an Extang Trifecta cover for an F 150 Lariat I bought new in 2010. Great cover, never leaked and after 9 years of hot- sunny North Carolina summers was still in good condition. I just traded the truck in on a new 2019 F 150 King Ranch and didn't consider another brand! Great cover. Love it.
I purchased this as a replacement for my 2012 Trifecta because of hail damage. It fits and looks great, but the rear hold down hooks are very weak and allow for to much flutter driving down the road. I swapped the hold down hooks from my old cover with the new. Much better. They really need to fix that.
Perfect fit? Easy on. easy off.
I like soft trifold covers for a number of reasons, including that they require no rails, no modifications to the truck, look great, and install remove quickly and easily. I had one on my last truck that was perfect after 10 years of use that was sold as a GM accessory but I suspect was made by this company. This trifold is a quality product and installed in about three minutes. The extra minute over the two it usually takes to put on was adjusting the clamps for the first time. I like the look of it and the updated clamps and straps work better than my old one. It allows you options for how you want to use the truck bed, folded up toward the front of simply removed completely. For less than half the price of a hard trifold and what I think is a better looking tonneau cover, this one is a great choice.
This cover looks and works great. I definitely recommend it.
2023 Ford F-150 Lightning. I’ve had the cover for about 3 months now, and have leak experience. IMHO, the cover could/should be about 3/4”-1” longer than delivered. Trying to balance the coverage of the seals with the slight arc of the bed at the back of the cab, and getting enough sealing surface at the tailgate is challenging. Again, another inch longer would be ideal. I agree with other reviewers that the spring loaded latches are weaker/cheaper than past models…not as robust or dependable. The hardware at the cab to attach the cover looks great, but I have to check it every month or so because it loosens and does not function as intended. For someone on a budget looking for an entry-level cover, this may work. For everyone else who is looking for a quality cover, you may want to pass this one by. My old one NEVER leaked.
This cover is an upgrade over the soft folding cover I bought for my previous truck. It doesn’t show the hinge points or supports and the quality of vinyl is heavier than before. As satisfied as I was with the previous cover, I’m doubly pleased with this one.
Good Quality, Good Warranty, Easy Installation & Removal, Looks Excellent.
Great looks, easy to install/remove, and even improved gas mileage on our 2018 F-150 V-8 4x4 - all from the best name in the industry. Made in the USA!
Great product truck looks good
Purchased the 2. 0 to replace my original Trifecta bought new in 2016. The covers are identical in fit, structure, and durability. Only difference is the rear hold downs aren't as robust as the original.
Very easy to install, 20 to 25 minutes. No extra tools needed. Easy to use. I'd buy another one in a minute.
Got rid of my awkward heavy bed cover.y new cover is quick and easy to install or take off for bigger loads. Fit and finish are top quality. The cover looks and feels like a softcover but is backed and sturdy
Quality is great. Price was reasonable. Ship was fast. Instructions wer bulletproof. Would reccomend.
I surveyed all the possible Truck Bed Covers on the market for my 2011 FORD F150 XLT, and the extang Trifecta 2.0 was on the Top of the List! Beautiful to look at, easy to install, well constructed, and at a great price, too! After one year, the vinyl cover was subjected to a harsh incident one day, and extang's Managment stood behind their outstanding product. Extang immediately shipped a replacement vinyl cover to me... no questions asked. It is this kind of care and concern that extang has for their customer base that makes the buying decision so easy to go with extang. I highly, highly, recommend this product. You will not find a better cover anywhere. Blessings, John
Looks great!! Very easy to install. Fits perfect on my 2016 Silverado crew cab. Had it on for about a month and had no problems. Very fast shipping.
The hardware kit was missing two washers for the bulkhead accessory rail. I ordered another kit but it also only came with four washers, it kit directions showed six. But with the washers out of but kits I was able to get rail and cover installed. Looks good!
The box was damaged and partially open so I was skeptical whether it was damaged. All was good but I had to go online to get the installation instructions. Simple install with attached levers. No tools required. What I don't like is how tight the tailgate end is. It will deteriorate the paint on the tailgate over time. Wish there was an adjustment. Other than that it looks good and performs well. Easy removal if needed. Light weight is a positive.
It’s so easy! Good framing! A little on the expensive side.
I needed a bed cover that I could take on and off easily to get my kayaks in the bed. This one is simple to put on and take off and only takes a minute. Almost 100% waterproof but not completely. Looks great as well. Worth the price for sure.
item was missing a corner piece of foam upon arrival, but I expect customer service to take care of it for me. Spring Levers have just enough power to hold the cover down- I'd like to see it have a tad more spring power.
Everything is great on this cover. It’s easy to install and easy to open or remove. My only 2 complaints are that it could be an inch or two longer and in very windy conditions the rear latches become in fastened and the cover jumps around. I had this happen when on the highway when the cover was only 2 months old. Other than this it is built well!
Simple install, looks great, functions well. Happy with product.
Having been through a few of the earlier versions of this cover, I’m glad they listened to feedback from customers. Earlier models had mechanical flaws in the design, most, if not all of the flaws have been resolved in this latest version. Definitely glad I stuck it out with these guys, this latest version of the cover is the best version yet. Definitely worth the money!
Having owned the original and now the 2.0 I can say that I don’t think the 2.0 seals as well in the front and the rear latches are still a little weak in my opinion. It is a beautiful cover though and does its job fairly well. I’m still split on whether I like the latches camming over on the 2.0 now or not. Doesn’t seem to be a downside yet to this new feature. The rear latches can be adjusted with a ratchet though to achieve more tension on the tail of the cover but I couldn’t get the fronts to seat as tightly like the original.
Great cover. An inch longer might be better, but it fits. This is my 3rd truck equipped with Extang covers. They are the best.
I had this same cover on a 21 ram. Held up great and build seems like it was better. Put this new one on my gmc and after a week I had to fold it up and had aluminum shavings along the bed tops. Must have been in the tubes of the tonneau cover and the quick latch don’t seem as sturdy as the older model. Also a f you have the Chevy fold out step tailgate, the grab bar near the back of the bed is exactly where the rear clamp of the cover has to grab. It’s super tight fit. Kinda a pain
I bought this for my 2019 Ram when I bought it last year. My last 3 trucks had the Extang FullTilt and I loved it! I was bummed out that they didn't make it for my new truck so I thought this would be a good style because I remove it often and like to do it without a ton of effort. I also wanted to stick with Extang because they have been great covers. The install was very easy, the hardest part was getting it lined up and getting it to stay lined up while tightening the front clamps. Looked nice on the truck but I started having issues within a few months. It seems like no matter how hard I crank on the front clamps, the top would eventually start shifting after driving for a couple months. Also the concept of just folding it up if you need to haul something tall seemed good until I tried it. When you have something tall, you usually put it all the way to the front of the bed by the cab
I like the quality of the cover. I seems well made. The big problem I have with it is, the front most section does not fold up. So if you already have the short bed in your truck, you now have a shorted bed if whatever you are hauling doesn’t fit under the cover. The other down fall is the way it latches closed. It has pretty bulky levers that swing down. If you have a lot of stuff in the bed of your truck, your not able to swing these levers down to latch it. Which means you can’t protect the stuff your hauling. Lastly, since the forward most section doesn’t lift up, you can’t get to your strap down hooks. You have to crawl under the cover to latch it. That doesn’t work if you have a big load you are trying to hold down. Ultimately, I will be selling this one and buying something else. Again, it’s not quality, its limitations are what’s making me go elsewhere.
The front corner on the passenger side doesn't sit down flush with the bed rail. Even though there is a gasket system underneath there is still space for water to enter because of the gap. Maybe the clamps need to be closer to the front of the cover to get a better seal. Not impressed with the clamps at the front and again, the seal they make.
This my first purchase of a cover. Overall it looks well made, looks good on truck. The foam seals at center hinges were damaged out of the box . Manufacturer sent replacement free of charge. My GMC has plastic caps on the bed rails and tailgate. They are about 1/2 inch higher than the front bed rail. The front and corner seals of cover compress on the caps on the side rails but don't seal tightly on the front bed rail, that is a 1/2 inch lower. I installed front clamps per instructions. (Tighten two turns after contacting bed edge). I had to carefully tighten beyond the two turns (clamp is plastic) because the cover shifted, slid to the rear.
Not happy. This can’t be by design. My last Trifold cover was from a different manufacturer at half the price and never had pooling issues. Pictures tell a thousand words after a short rain. Many more rains to come here in Sunny Florida
I had the first trifecta that Extang made. It was more substantial or beefier, this one seems flimsy. I dont think its going to hold up in the winter. It looks like its missing a crossbeam. It doesnt have that bow in it anymore. You know, that look, like it was slightly raised in the center. Its a great product. I just feel its made more cheap now. I will by something else next time. The old one lasted 7 years, this one might not survive a snow storm.
I have had this cover for 3 months and every time it rains water puddles on the top between braces. I replaced a 8 year old exrang with this one. I had no issues with water on the older one. I think the problem is when i close it it don't pull tight enough. Ertang is sending me a new one but can't guarantee i wont have the same problem.
I had on previously for a 6 1/2 foot bed so I bought the same one in a 5 1/2 foot bed when I bought a new truck. They have changed the way it clamps on the truck near the cab but it is not an improvement. It was much hard to turn the bolts because it kept hitting the truck bed. I am not a fan of the improvement. Why don't you just use the same quick connect that you use near the tailgate. It would make it much easier to install.
If you like a cover that flaps in the wind then this one is for you. I would not recommend this cover for this reason. I think if it had a support bar in the area that the air is deflected and pushes down on the cover, it may help this problem. I have had other Extang covers and this will probably be my last.
I ordered this for an 1800 mile trip to keep my stuff dry and clean in the back of my truck. Install was a snap (taking time to tighten everything down to seal to the bed), it is well made and finished and looks great on the truck. A few days around town kept my bed dry, so I had high hopes. After the first stop for gas I went into the bed for food for my dogs and found everything in the back was wet (including all my clothes in my suitcase). Luckily a carry contractor trash bags and spent the next 40 minutes wrapping everything that needed to stay dry. It appears that any speeds over 50 mph tend to make the top flex and let rain and snow in... disappointing.
This is my third trifecta cover, and the worst one so far. I’ll be sending it back first thing on Monday morning. I think when the new F150s came out they forgot to actually measure them. When mounted “correctly” there’s a 4 1/2” space where my entire hand can fit on the back, which looks absolutely ridiculous. If I try to pull the cover towards the tailgate more to shorten the space, there is an actual physical gap in the front near the cab where rain and animals can could get in. Also, mine arrived and the cross beams are all bent. Yes, I know there’s supposed to be some crown probably so water doesn’t sit on the top, but all the beams are bent 2 inches and the top looks like a rib can installed instead of flat and clean like the photos. This is getting sent back Monday morning. Sorry Extang, I’m out.
Looks good, easy to install, quality is ok for the money but it’s not of the quality of my previous Extang covers. Rear securing latches are not as strong and downs not hold the cover down as expected.
There are limited choices for a tonneau cover for a RAM truck with the RAM boxes. I needed a tonneau cover for my truck as I was taking a long trip and I had gear in the bed to protect. I installed this cover according to the detailed instructions. I looks good and helps secure my gear. However, water still leaks through the sides. The gasket was installed as instructed. There needs to be an additional rubber flap that extends from each side to cover the trough between the cover and the bed side.
It was easy to install but the pull down attaching “ hooks” are hard to use and the top is not really snug. The soft cover wobbles at high speeds and I am not sure how it will be in the ice and snow. In retrospect I should have paid more for a hard to cover?
This is the second Etang Tonneau Cover, My first one lasted almost 20 years. Instalation took the typical 15 minutes. Comparing old and new, the new convers came with an improved seal around the edges, better hinges at the folds, and a secondary tie down in the front for safety. The only disappoint ment is the spring loaded tie downs at the tail gate. They don't slide as smoothly as the older ones and stick occassionally making it a bit more difficult to latch them in place. Other than I am happy with the purchase.
This is my 3rd Extang Trifecta and I have had great success with all of them. Great seals, no rips, easy to use and install - until my new 2025 GMC Sierra. Unlike my F-150, the hold downs by the tail gate do not grab the rim of the bed. You install two upside down U-plates to grab onto and frankly they are difficult to use. It makes where you position the cover on the bed critical, partucularly along the length of the bed. They are also fairly narrow making it hard to slide the clamp over to the right spot to grip. In addition, I have the multi-folding tailgate with the handle that folds out and the bolts for that are right where the channel is so I have scraped my knuckels a few times. Hopefully Extang will figure out a better way to clamp it by the tailgate. Other than that, I love my cover and recommend it (Particularly for Fords!)
My second Extang truck bed cover, Great engineering, but the guy who packed the cardboard box only used three little dabs of tape to seal an enormous box flap. Of course the Extang cover must have slid out in transit along the way. It was shoved back in the box, all scuffed up, and with no paperwork or small parts. The failing of every great company is with the support staff. If the guy who dabbed three little pieces of tape to a huge box really cared about his job, my cover would not look all scuffed up.
Unless you want shiny metal brackets left on your top rail of your black cargo tie down system don't bother. Description says it clamps to the rails, like my 2005 Tacoma. But you have to install shiny metal brackets to the top rail. Making the top rail less useful as now your movable tie down cleats positions are limited. The shiny brackets are 3-4 times the height of top rail of the tie down system and look like it could damage something or someone with the cover removed. Installs in seconds my, no way. I ordered a cover to fit my truck, wasn't expecting to have to use a adapter kit! Very pore engineering, My cover for my 2005 Tacoma clamped on to the top rail of a very similar cargo retaining system and could be removed/installed from outside the truck. Unless you are planing on leaving this cover installed on your truck at all times, I would not recommend it.
This is my 4th extang cover. The other 3 installs went without a hitch. I have a 2024 chevy silverado short box. The rear mounting brackets are a problematic. I believe they could have been designed much better. 1) when mounted in the only spot they can go, it creates a gap between the truck bed and the bracket since the bracket has to go over the factory plastic that extends down the inside of the bed. This creates an awkward gap/angle. Just doesn't look right and is structurally poor. Poor design of the bracket for this truck. 2) rear bracket install requires putting the little plates inside the bedside hole (where a camper stud would slide into). This requires some pliers and a steady hand and more than 2 eyes. 3) the spring loaded pull down hooks would not align with the bracket properly on my first try. I had to loosen the brackets and jockey them a tad, re-tighten. After all this,
Design, Installation, and quality of product is outstanding. I could not give it a 5 because of the rear quick release mechanisms. They worked fine for the first couple of weeks. Now before driving I have to relock them and just a few miles down the road both sides loosen up and and the end starts flapping up and down to the point I worry they will loosen to the point I am afraid they will completely unlock. When I relock them I attempt to pull up the corners of the cover and they stay locked but driving on highway they work loose. I now have to tie both sides down with nylon cord which makes it a pain to gain access to bed of truck.
