Features

  • Cast-Iron Construction: The FR700 is the heavier of Fill-Rite's AC pumps: a cast-iron housing around a rotary vane set with carbon vanes. A check valve with pressure relief is built into the outlet, and an automatic bypass lets it run briefly with the nozzle closed.
  • Fits 2" Tank Bungs: The bung adapter screws into a 2" tank opening and holds a 1-1/4" suction pipe, with a 1/4" NPT port ready for an anti-siphon line. Outlets are 3/4" on FR700 and FR701 models, 1" on FR710 and FR711; FR705 models use a 2" BSPT bung.
  • Lockable Nozzle Hook: Switch the pump off, hang the nozzle on its rest, and a padlock through the rest and the nozzle handle keeps the nozzle where it is. The heavy-duty on/off lever sits right beside it on the motor end.
  • 20 GPM on AC Power: Fill-Rite rates the FR700 at up to 20 GPM (75 LPM). US models run on 115V AC, 60 Hz at 5.5 A; the 230V versions draw 2.4 A. Fill-Rite pitches it for refueling machines whose tanks hold roughly 20 to 80 gallons.
  • 1/3 HP, 30-Min Duty Cycle: A 1/3 HP motor turning 1725 RPM on sealed bearings, which Fill-Rite says need no maintenance, drives the vanes. It is rated for 30-minute runs, and thermal overload protection cuts out before the windings overheat.
  • Many Fluids, One Pump: Fill-Rite's FR700 manual lists diesel, gasoline, kerosene, mineral spirits, Stoddard solvent and heptane, and its current pump pages add E15 gasoline blends and B20 biodiesel. Keep it away from aircraft, water and drinkable fluids.

Description & Fitment

Fill-Rite's FR710VN is the FR700 pump alone with the larger 1" NPT outlet, on 115V AC at 20 GPM. It comes with a roll of PTFE tape, a nozzle boot, a locking nut, a fastener and a 1" NPT street elbow, so you can run a 1" hose and nozzle you already own.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check your setup: your own 1" hose and nozzle. Plan on your own 1-1/4" suction pipe, a vented tank with a 2" NPT bung and a dedicated 20 A breaker. For the 3/4" outlet pick the FR700VN; the ready kit with hose and automatic diesel nozzle is the FR710VB.

Not for: fueling aircraft, water or fluids meant for drinking (Fill-Rite's manual rules these out), and DEF or any fluid Fill-Rite does not list for the FR700.

About Fill-Rite

FILL-RITE.

Fill-Rite is a Gorman-Rupp company that designs and builds transfer equipment for fuel, oil and chemicals: electric and hand-operated transfer pumps, plus the meters, nozzles, hose and filters that go with them. Its sites are in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Lenexa, Kansas.

Its transfer pumps are built around cast-iron rotary vane bodies, and Fill-Rite stands behind them with a tiered warranty that runs for the life of the pump castings, 5 years on the motor and 2 years on wear parts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the FR710VN differ from the FR700VN?

Both are 115V AC pump-only models. The FR710VN has a 1" NPT outlet; the FR700VN has a 3/4" outlet.

Is a hose included?

No. It ships with the nozzle boot and install parts only.

What power does an FR700 need?

A dedicated 20 A circuit breaker with no other equipment on it, wired by a licensed electrician through threaded rigid conduit with sealed fittings. US models take 115V AC; the FR700VE, FR700VG, FR701VEL, FR701VGL, FR705VE and FR705VEL are the 230V versions.

Is a suction pipe included?

No FR700 package lists one. Cut 1-1/4" pipe (1" BSPP on FR705 models) so it ends at least 3" above the tank bottom, then thread it up into the bung adapter from below.

Do I need an anti-siphon valve?

Fill-Rite recommends one. Its KIT700AS runs from the pump outlet back to the tank's vapor space and works for tank-top mounts; for other setups Fill-Rite points to the KIT700AVB.

Can it run all day?

Not nonstop. The motor is rated for a 30-minute duty cycle. If it overheats, the thermal protector shuts it off and it restarts by itself once cool if the switch is still on, so turn it off first.

DifficultyNot printed in Fill-Rite's manualFill-Rite has the wiring done by a licensed electrician
TypeThreads onto a 2" tank bung through the bung adapter, or onto a concrete island with the FRPA125 pedestal kit, then hard-wired to a dedicated 20 A circuit (Fill-Rite FR700 manual)
Tools
  • Not printed in Fill-Rite's manual
  • it calls for thread sealant suited to the fluid and anti-seize compound

Here's the short version. Follow Fill-Rite's manual (below) for the full procedure, wiring and safety steps.

  1. Cut the 1-1/4" suction pipe so it ends at least 3" above the tank bottom (FR705 models use a 1" BSPP pipe).
  2. Find the bung adapter end marked PUMP SIDE, wrap the pipe threads with sealant suited to the fluid and thread the pipe in from the bottom until it seals air and fluid tight.
  3. Coat the adapter's outer threads with anti-seize compound and tighten it into the 2" tank opening to a fluid and air tight seal.
  4. Thread the pump onto the bung adapter with fluid sealant and tighten to a fluid and air tight seal. For a concrete island, use the FRPA125 pedestal kit instead.
  5. Fill-Rite recommends anti-siphon kit KIT700AS from the pump outlet back to the tank vapor space through the adapter's 1/4" NPT port, sloping down with no liquid traps.
  6. Remove the junction box cover, connect the pump wires to the supply per the diagram with the ground wire attached, tuck the wires back, check the gasket and torque each cover screw to 90 +/- 9 in-lbs; supply power from a dedicated 20 A breaker.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Lifetime Tiered limited warranty

Fill-Rite covers the FR700V Series pump with its tiered Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in material and workmanship:
    • Lifetime: pump castings, such as the pump and motor housings, motor frame, inlet flange and bung adapter, junction box cover, switch plate and end bells. Paint and corrosion issues are excluded.
    • 5 years: the motor and its components, such as magnets, armature, brushes, thermal protector, lead wires and circuit boards.
    • 2 years: wear parts, such as seals, gaskets, O-rings, springs, vanes, rotor and rotor cover, bypass cap, nozzle boot, switch parts and paint adhesion. Paint wear from use, weather or chemicals is excluded.
    • 1 year: accessories packed with the pump, such as hoses, nozzles, suction pipes, cables and connectors, elbows and swivels.
    • On metered kits the meter follows Fill-Rite's meter terms instead (800 and 900 Series): 2 years on all meter components.
    • Coverage runs from the date of sale, or the delivery date if that is later, and only the original purchaser is covered; it does not transfer to a later owner.
    • It applies to products bought from Fill-Rite or a seller Fill-Rite authorizes in the United States or Canada, and Fill-Rite needs proof of purchase with a claim. Without proof of purchase or delivery, Fill-Rite starts the clock at the date code on the product.
    • Small items such as fasteners, washers, labels, nameplates, rivets, emblems, packaging, thread tape, wire nuts and paperwork are not covered.
    • It does not cover misuse, neglect, accident, negligence, improper installation or maintenance, or repairs done by anyone other than Fill-Rite or its authorized representative.
    • Fill-Rite's remedy is a replacement, or a refund of the price paid when a replacement or repair is not practical. Its liability is capped at the purchase price and it excludes incidental and consequential damages where the law allows. Implied warranties are limited to the length of this warranty.
    • Please do not send the product back on your own: if Fill-Rite asks for a return, it issues a return number and pays the freight.
To start a claim, contact us with your order number and a short description of the problem and we will take it to Fill-Rite with you.
