Features
- Opens With One Cable Pull: One release cable runs across the tailgate end, and a pull from either side lets the latches go so you can fold the cover forward.
- Drop-and-Go Latches: Lower the cover and the automatic dual slam latches lock it on their own, with no clamps to work by hand. Gator doubles up the latch points along the length of the cover, and with your tailgate locked the bed is shut tight.
- Rigid Aluminum Panels: Each panel is built from multi-layer, aircraft-grade aluminum with a semi-gloss black coating that resists fading. Gator rates the closed cover for up to 300 lb spread evenly.
- Folds for 2/3 Bed Access: Fold the panels toward the cab to open two-thirds of the bed and lock the stack in place with the retaining straps. When you need the whole bed, Gator says its quick-release design lets the cover come off in minutes without tools.
- Keeps Water Out: Flush side seals block the edges, and drain rails carry water that gets past them out through drain tubes. Like any tonneau cover, it is weather-resistant rather than waterproof.
- Stake Pockets Stay Open: The rails leave the stake pockets clear, so tie-downs, bed rails and other accessories still have a place to mount.
Description & Fitment
This EFX is built for the 2019-2023 Ford Ranger with the 5'1" bed and has its own Ranger install sheet: brackets bolt to the truck's existing hole, slot and threaded hole, so no drilling to mount. If your Ranger has a drop-in bedliner, the sheet has you trim off the liner's front lip so the bulkhead seal sits flush. The hard aluminum panels fold to two-thirds open and lock on automatic slam-latches, Gator says. Gator's 2-year limited warranty covers it.

Will it work with my drop-in bedliner?
Yes, but Gator's sheet says to trim the liner's front lip to expose the top of the bulkhead so the seal sits flush.
Does this fit a 2024 Ranger?
No. The 2024 and newer Ranger takes EF324033.
How much weight can the EFX hold?
Gator rates it for up to 300 lb on the closed cover when the load is spread evenly. That rating is not for a concentrated load such as standing on one spot.
Is the EFX waterproof?
No tonneau cover is fully waterproof. Flush side seals keep most water out, and drain rails with drain tubes carry off what gets past them, so keep anything that must stay dry in a sealed bin.
Can I drive with the cover folded open?
Yes. Fold it to the two-thirds position and lock it with the retaining straps first. Gator's warranty requires the cover to be secured at every point while the truck is moving.
Do I need to take it off to tow my truck?
Only if the truck is towed from the rear. Gator requires the cover to be removed and stored first, or the warranty is void.
Installation

Here's the short version. Follow Gator's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact steps.
- Clean the front corners and stick the foam pad bulkhead seals under the bed rail caps onto the bulkhead face, both sides.
- Clean the bulkhead top and stick the bulkhead seal edge to edge; with a drop-in bedliner, trim off the liner's front lip first.
- Rear brackets: lift the bed cap edge, fit the bracket under the metal rail (tab in the hole, stud in the slot) and tighten the 1/4-20 nut with a 7/16" wrench.
- Slide a step spacer between the bed cap and each rear bracket.
- Front brackets: slide the flange between the bed cap and metal rail, bolt into the front-corner threaded hole with the M8 bolt (13 mm). Clean spray-in liner out of the threads first if needed. Add the step spacers.
- Stick a rubber spacer by each middle clamp position, set both side rails flush above the bed rail and fit three clamps per side (center clamp first) onto the brackets.

Warranty
Gator backs the EFX with a 2-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.- If the cover or a hardware part is defective, Gator repairs or replaces it at its choice, and may substitute a newer model of similar form and function.
- Coverage is for the first owner and can't be transferred. Gator asks for a registration on file or proof of original purchase (a dated, itemized receipt), so keep your order receipt.
- To keep it valid: wash with mild car soap and water only; keep the cover secured at every point while the truck is moving; check all clamps after the first week of driving (and after any reinstall) and now and then after that; clear snow and ice before opening; and take the cover off before the truck is towed from the rear.
- Claims need a return authorization number before anything is sent back. Gator may ask for the part, postage prepaid, to inspect it, and shipping for a repair or replacement is at the owner's cost; Gator charges nothing else for a covered repair or replacement.
- Not covered: accident damage, neglect, unforeseeable use, improper installation or servicing, or anything not caused by a defect in material or workmanship. Your state may give you other rights as well.
