Features

  • Rolls up for full access: Release the cover, roll it up to the cab and strap it there, and the whole bed opens for tall or bulky loads. Unroll it again once the cargo is loaded. If you drive with the cover rolled up, LEER's manual says the tie-down straps must stay fastened.
  • No-drill clamp-in rails: The left and right rails clamp inside the bed, so nothing gets drilled. A bulkhead seal goes across the front of the bed and rail seals run along the sides, and LEER describes the cover as easy to install and to remove.
  • Commercial-grade vinyl: The skin is a reinforced, commercial-grade vinyl that LEER double-coats. Wash it with mild soap and water only: LEER warns that abrasive pads and harsh cleaners can dull the finish, and that chemicals can damage the vinyl and seals.
  • Two-finger CYNC latch: LEER calls its patented CYNC latch an industry exclusive. A two-finger pinch releases the cover, and you can do it from either side of the bed, so you can open it from whichever side you are standing on.
  • Simple tension adjustment: If the vinyl starts to sag, slide the cover along the teeth on the rails: toward the cab tightens it, toward the tailgate loosens it. LEER builds the adjustment in to keep the cover from sagging.
  • Built-in aluminum bows: Aluminum bows built into the cover hold the vinyl up across the bed and give the cover its structure. LEER pairs them with a low-profile shape it describes as aerodynamic.

Is the SR250 waterproof?

LEER describes the unrolled cover as a sealed bed cover, with a bulkhead seal at the cab and seals along both rails. It is not sold as waterproof, so wrap anything that must stay completely dry.

Do I have to drill the bed rails to fit it?

No. The SR250 side rails clamp in with no drilling. The hardware package has 6 clamp assemblies, 2 front crossbar hold-downs and the 2.5mm, 5mm and 6mm Allen wrenches.

Can I drive with the cover rolled up?

Yes, as long as the tie-down straps are fastened, which LEER's manual calls for. Check that the clamps are tight before every trip too: LEER's warranty does not cover a cover that comes off the truck.

How do I keep the vinyl in good shape?

Here's the short version. Follow LEER's install sheet (below) for the exact positions and hardware.

  1. Wash the truck bed if it is dirty, then set the left-hand rail in place with its notch flush and install the right-hand rail the same way.
  2. Place a clamp at each of the three marked locations inside the bed channel and the rail, and hand-tighten the lower screw until it makes contact.
  3. Tighten the clamp screws with the 5mm Allen wrench; the lower screws may then be removed and kept for later adjustment. Repeat on the right-hand side.
  4. Install the bulkhead seal on the truck's front bulkhead.
  5. Set the front crossbar bolts into the rail slots, line the cover assembly up on the fourth tooth with the front shield pulled out, and repeat on the opposite side.
  6. Fold the cover down to engage the CYNC latches, remove the clips and roll the cover down; if needed, adjust tautness by moving over the teeth toward the front (tighter) or the tailgate (looser).

    The SR250 carries LEER's Limited Lifetime Warranty: LEER promises the cover is free of material and workmanship defects, and the coverage lasts as long as the original purchaser keeps it on the original truck.
    • Who and where: the original retail purchaser only, on the original owner's truck. The warranty is not transferable.
    • Conditions: the cover must be properly installed and not modified, and LEER asks for the original sales receipt as proof of purchase.
    • Remedy: LEER repairs or replaces a cover that proves defective, at its sole discretion.
    • Not covered: damage caused by accidents, neglect or abuse, by inappropriate use or a faulty install, or by acts of God; a cover lost off the truck to wind or while driving (checking the clamps before you drive is the owner's job); paint damage to the truck; damage from careless unpacking, such as opening the carton with a box cutter; use outside the cover's specifications or intended application; installing or operating it against the manual; and consequential damage, including to cargo or the truck bed.
    • Shipping damage: LEER excludes damage caused by a parcel carrier in transit, so tell us right away and we will file the claim with the carrier.
    • Care: clean with mild soap and water only. LEER says chemicals and harsh fluids can damage the vinyl and seals and void the warranty.
    • Registration: LEER's manual says the cover must be registered for the warranty to be valid. Contact us and we will help you register it.
