See it on a truck

Install on a Tacoma

This footage is the standard LOMAX Folding Hard Cover going onto a Toyota Tacoma, not the Professional Series, though the rails and the fold are shared. You will see the beds with and without deck rails handled separately.

Ranger install, same rail system

Again the cover on camera is the standard LOMAX folding hard cover rather than the Professional. The truck is a Ford Ranger. Watch the clamp placement and the order the rails go down, because that part of the job is identical on this cover.

Fitting to a Rivian R1T

A third install video, once more showing the standard LOMAX folding hard cover, this time on a Rivian R1T. It is worth a look if you drive an electric truck and want to see the clamps go onto that bed before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

How much of the bed opens up?

Folded forward toward the cab the Professional clears about two thirds of the bed. Storage clamps hold the folded stack while you load. For taller freight the whole cover lifts off without tools, which leaves the rails in place and the full bed open.

Will it keep water out of the bed?

Weather tight seals run around the perimeter, so ordinary rain and washing stay off your cargo. No tonneau is a sealed box. Water can still get past a tailgate seal or a dented rail, so treat the cover as weather protection rather than a waterproof case.

Does installing it mean drilling the bed?

No. Eight TIGHT BITE clamps hold the rails to the bed on standard applications, and the hardware ships with the cover. That keeps factory paint intact and means the whole kit can come off again when you sell the truck.

Can it carry weight on top?

Up to 500 lb, spread evenly over the closed cover. That figure assumes the load is distributed rather than concentrated under a point, so a bag of mulch laid flat is fine while a jack stand or a ladder foot digging into one panel is not.

Which option do I pick for a RamBox or deck rail bed?

Match the option to your bed hardware. The fitment list separates beds with and without a RamBox. It also separates deck rail or trail rail systems from plain beds, plus Silverado and Sierra beds with the CarbonPro liner, which take a bolt on install. Pick the line that describes your truck.

How do I look after the powder coat?

Wash it with the truck. The textured black powder coat is there for corrosion resistance as well as looks, so mild soap and water is all it asks for. Keep grit out of the hinge line and check the latches engage cleanly at all ten points after a dusty trip.
