A step pad sized for boots

Each EpYx drop step is 15" long and 4" deep, so a full work boot lands flat instead of balancing on a narrow tube. The slotted surface scrapes mud off the sole and keeps its grip in rain and snow.

Close to the rockers, one piece

The one-piece main tube rides close along the rocker panels, where it takes rock chips and abrasion before they reach the paint. With no bolted joints along its length, there is nothing between the brackets to work loose.

Ends welded shut

Angular end caps are welded onto the main tube, closing it against the water, dirt and road salt that rust open-ended bars from the inside. Over that, a two-stage textured black powder coat carries a 5-year finish warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Are the tube ends sealed?

Yes. The ends of the main tube are closed with welded angular end caps, which keeps water, dirt and road salt from getting inside the bar and working outward.

Do I have to drill into my truck to install these?

Most applications bolt to factory mounting points with the supplied hardware and need no drilling. A few vehicles do need holes drilled, and where that applies, the Installation tab of that listing says so and names the step. Check it before you order if drilling is a deal-breaker.

Will the powder coat hold up to road salt?

EpYx is steel protected by a two-stage textured black powder coat, with welded end caps that keep salt out of the tube, and N-Fab warrants the finish for 5 years. Powder coat protects well while it is intact, but a stone chip exposes steel, and in a salt state rust can start there. Rinse the bars through winter and touch up chips when you see them.

How big is the step, and will a work boot fit?

Each drop step pad is 15" long and 4" wide, which fits a full work boot with room to spare side to side. The slotted surface helps clear mud from the sole.

Is there a weight rating for these steps?

N-Fab does not publish a load rating for EpYx, so we do not quote one. The bar is one-piece, fully welded steel built to be stood on at every door.

Will the bars sag or loosen over time?

A bar that is installed square and rechecked should stay put, and N-Fab's own guides advise checking the hardware periodically. Snug everything by hand, set the bar parallel to the rocker, tighten to the values in your guide, then recheck after the first few weeks of driving.
