Description & Fitment

Covers the 2007-2018 Silverado and Sierra 1500 Crew Cab and the 2007-2019 Silverado and Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD Crew Cab, with gas engines only on 2011-2019 HD trucks. Built with fleets in mind, the Growler board gives crews a flat, cab-length place to step. N-Fab's sheet is bolt-on, no drilling: pop the factory plugs with a flat screwdriver and fit the supplied speed clips.

Does it fit a 2014 2500 HD Duramax Crew Cab?

No. The 2011-2016 diesel 2500 HD Crew Cab takes a different kit, GFC11CC-TX.

Is drilling required?

No. N-Fab's sheet uses speed clips in the factory plug holes.

How is a Growler board different from a tube step?

Instead of a round bar with step pads, the Growler Fleet is a flat 7" wide aluminum board with louvered tread along its whole length, so you can step anywhere on it.

Will it suit a lifted truck?

N-Fab pitches the Growler Fleet for factory-height and lifted pickups alike. The brackets are made for your cab, so check the fitment table for your exact truck.

Is there a matching hitch step?

Yes. N-Fab's Growler Hitch Step uses the same louvered tread on a 19" by 7" aluminum step that slides into a 2" receiver.

Do they come as a pair?

Yes. Each part number includes the driver-side and passenger-side boards, the brackets for that cab and the mounting hardware.

Here's the short version. Follow N-Fab's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps.

  1. Find the mounts. Look on the underside of the body and locate the factory supplied mounting positions. Note: Some vehicles require the use of speed clips and nuts, which are supplied with the hardware kit.
  2. Prep the mounting points. If your vehicle requires the use of the speed clips, install at this time. This requires the removal of a plastic body plug. Using a flat head screwdriver remove the plug and install one of the supplied speed clips.
  3. Fit the brackets. Install the brackets to the mounting locations in the body of the vehicle and install hardware. Do not tighten all the way. Note: Some vehicles may require the use of additional nuts and washers for the lower portion of the mounting bracket which are supplied in the hardware kit.
  4. Mount the brackets. Set running board along the top of all three brackets and center along the cab. Insert the supplied threaded brackets inside the running board lip over the top of each bracket.
  5. Continue. With the supplied 3/8" x 1" hex bolts, secure each mounting location and leave loose. After final adjustment, tighten all running board threaded mounts.
  6. Then. Next, adjust frame brackets so the running board is level with body of the vehicle and tighten all factory-mounting locations. Repeat for the passenger side.

Love the look and feel of these

These are just what I have been looking for. Had nerf bars for years and issue was always grip and slip, especially in wet and freezing conditions. And others weren't lying, easiest install possible. 12 nuts, 12 bolts, and you're done. Could easily install in under an hour if you have the right tools ready.

SIMPLE AS IT GETS!

Easy 1/2 hour project to install in driveway, literally a 13mm socket is all you need. Good solid running boards, My second set.
