Extruded aluminum, powder coated

Predator Pro is built from extruded aluminum, which does not rust the way a steel bar can after a few salted winters. A textured black powder coat adds a matte look and a second layer of protection, and N-Fab backs that finish for 5 years.

Built as an everyday step

Predator Pro is designed for daily climbing in and out and for keeping road grit off the rockers, with the main bar riding close along the body. It is a step rather than a rock slider, so treat it as one on the trail.

Grip on the raised slots

Each 4" step carries raised slots that give a sole something to hold in rain, mud and snow, so the first step in feels planted. The hoop shape keeps that step below the main bar, where a foot naturally lands when the door opens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Is aluminum strong enough to use as a rock slider?

Predator Pro is not a slider, and it should not be used as one. It is a step and a guard against road debris, not a bar built to carry the vehicle's weight when you drop onto a rock. If you need true slider protection, N-Fab builds the RKR Rails and the frame-mounted TrailSlider for that job.

Will aluminum corrode?

Aluminum does not form the red rust that eats steel, which is its main advantage on salted roads, and the textured black powder coat over it carries a 5-year finish warranty. Aluminum can still develop white surface corrosion where the coating is chipped and salt sits on it, so rinse the bars through winter. We will not tell you any finish is immune to corrosion.

Do I have to drill into my truck to install these?

Most applications bolt to factory mounting points with the supplied hardware and need no drilling. A few vehicles do need holes drilled, and where that applies, the Installation tab of that listing says so and names the step. Check it before you order if drilling is a deal-breaker.

Is there a weight rating for these steps?

N-Fab does not publish a load rating for Predator Pro, so we do not quote one. It is built as a one-piece welded aluminum step for climbing in and out, and it should be treated as a step rather than a jacking or sliding point.

How long does the install take and what tools do I need?

It is a driveway job with sockets, wrenches and a ratchet, plus a torque wrench where your guide lists a value, and a drill on the applications whose guide calls for one. Snug everything by hand, set each bar parallel to the rocker before final tightening, and recheck the fasteners after the first few weeks of driving.

Do they come as a pair, and is the hardware included?

Yes. Each order is a driver-side and a passenger-side step with the mounting hardware for your application. The hardware is matched to one body style and cab, so a kit for one configuration will not fit another.
