The RKR Step System pairs N-Fab's RKR rock rails, fully welded from 1.75" steel tube, with detachable RKR hoop steps that bolt to the rails below each door and come off for the trail. For a 2015-2018 Ram 1500, 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic crew cab that splits its time between pavement and trail, one set of rails handles both jobs. This listing is N-Fab part number D154RKRCCS4, finished in textured black.
What's Included:
2x RKR rock rails (driver and passenger side)
Detachable RKR steps, one for each door
Vehicle-specific mounting hardware kit
Features
Rails and Steps in One Kit Each kit includes a pair of RKR rock rails and a detachable RKR step for every door, so you get rocker protection and an entry step without buying them separately.
Steps Come Off for the Trail The steps bolt to mounts on the rails. Unbolt them before a trail run and the system goes back to bare rock rails with nothing hanging low; bolt them back on for the drive home.
1.75" Welded Steel Tube The rails are 1.75" diameter steel tube with a .120" wall, welded into one piece for strength and rigidity with no joints along the rail to work loose.
Guards the Rocker Panels On the trail the rails act as rock sliders, letting the vehicle ride over rocks and obstacles on the tube instead of the sheet metal.
A 3" Wide Hoop Step Each detachable step gives a 3" wide landing below the door for everyday entry, a real help on a vehicle that sits tall.
Treated Inside and Out The steel is treated on the inside and the outside, then finished in textured black powder coat for corrosion resistance. N-Fab warrants the finish for five years.
Bolt-On Mounting Most applications bolt to factory mounting points along the rocker panel with the supplied hardware; where a vehicle needs a hole drilled, the Installation tab of that listing says so.

Specifications
Series: N-Fab RKR Step System
Product Type: Rock rails with detachable hoop steps
Type: Bolt-on · Tools: Hand tools (socket set, ratchet and a torque wrench) · Difficulty: DIY-friendly; a helper or jack stands make holding the rails in place easier
The rails bolt to vehicle-specific mounting points along the rocker panel, then the steps bolt to the mounts on the rails. Most applications use factory mounting points; where a vehicle needs a hole drilled, the Installation tab of that listing says so. The steps can be removed and refitted later with a wrench, and the rail hardware is worth re-checking after the first few hundred miles.

Warranty, Shipping & Returns
Warranty. N-Fab warrants the RKR Step System for life against defects in materials and workmanship, covering the rails, the steps, the brackets and the welds, and warrants the powder-coat finish for five years. Both terms belong to the original purchaser, on the vehicle the product was first installed on, and they do not transfer if the vehicle is sold.
Free shipping. This part ships by ground parcel carrier to the lower 48 states.
Inspect on delivery. Open the carton the day it arrives and check every part and the hardware bag against the parts list before you start. A damaged or short kit reported in the first days is a quick replacement; one reported after installation is much harder to resolve.
Returns. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. N-Fab charges a 20% restocking fee on any product returned without a defect, and an N-Fab representative has to confirm a defect in fit, form or function before a return is authorized, so please contact us before shipping a part back. If an item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, return shipping is on us. See our Returns & Refunds Policy, or email support@prestigetruck.com with any question.
About N-Fab
N-Fab designs and fabricates steps, running boards, rock rails and pre-runner bumpers for trucks, SUVs and vans, along with sports bars, racks and lighting mounts. Every N-Fab product carries a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship plus a five-year warranty on the powder-coat finish, both held by the original purchaser on the vehicle the part was first installed on.
The RKR Step System is the complete version of N-Fab's RKR platform: the same RKR Rock Rails sold on their own, with the detachable RKR steps added. Owners who want a slider with the step built into the tube can look at the TrailSlider, and those who drive mostly on the road may be better served by a hoop step such as the Podium or Nerf Step.
Most N-Fab parts start as steel tube that is bent, fully welded into a single assembly and finished in a multi-stage powder coat. Brackets and hardware are specific to each vehicle, so a part is engineered around one body's mounting points rather than adapted from a generic bracket.

Steps on, steps off
The RKR steps bolt to mounts on the rails, so they stay on for the school run and come off in the driveway before a trail day. With them removed, you are left with bare 1.75" steel rock rails and nothing hanging low to catch on a ledge.

Steel treated inside and out
The rails are 1.75" steel tube with a .120" wall, welded into one piece and treated on the inside as well as the outside before the textured black powder coat goes on. N-Fab warrants that finish for five years.
Rails that guard the rockers
One-piece welded steel rails run along the rocker panels, so a rock or stump meets the tube instead of the sheet metal. It is the protection of a slider with the convenience of a step, in one bolt-on kit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Can I take the steps off when I go off-road?
Yes. The steps bolt to mounts on the rails, so you can unbolt them before a trail run and leave just the rock rails, then refit them for daily driving.
Will the rails protect my rocker panels on rocks?
That is their job. N-Fab builds them from 1.75" steel tube with a .120" wall so the vehicle can slide over rocks and obstacles on the rails instead of the rockers. N-Fab does not publish a load rating, so we do not quote one.
Do I have to drill into my vehicle to install these?
Most applications bolt to factory mounting points with the included hardware. Where a vehicle needs a hole drilled, the Installation tab of that listing says so, so check it for your part number.
Will the finish hold up to road salt?
The steel is treated inside and out and finished in textured black powder coat, which N-Fab warrants for five years. Rails that see trail use will pick up scrapes, so touch up bare spots and rinse off salt through the winter.
How many steps come in the kit?
One for each door: a pair on a two-door vehicle and two pairs on a four-door or crew cab. The steps are included with the rails in every RKR Step System kit.
What tools do I need to install it?
Common hand tools: a socket set and ratchet, plus a torque wrench to bring the bolts to the values on N-Fab's sheet. A helper or a pair of jack stands makes holding the rails in position much easier.
