Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Is this kit street legal?

Rigid does not rate this kit as SAE compliant. Rigid sells it as an auxiliary backup lighting kit, so check your state's rules on auxiliary reverse lamps before using it on public roads.

What is the difference between SR-M and SR-Q?

Both are compact Rigid pods. SR-M is the smaller of the two; SR-Q has a longer face. Each pod's size, beam and output are in its specifications.

Which beam suits a reverse light?

Rigid recommends its diffused beam, a wide, soft spread, for reverse lighting, work zones and scene lighting.

Where do these pods mount?

Their small size suits bumpers, toy haulers, A-pillars and other tight spaces. Mounting style for this pod is in its specifications and box list.

How should I clean the lens?

Use mild soap and water or mineral spirits. Rigid's polycarbonate lenses can be damaged by ammonia-based cleaners, so skip glass cleaners and automatic car washes, and rinse road salt off with fresh water. Damage from either is not covered by the warranty.

What does the warranty cover?

Rigid's Limited Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects for the original purchaser with proof of purchase. Commercial, marine and industrial use is limited to 5 years, powder coat and lenses to 1 year, and removing the bezel or otherwise breaking the seal is not covered.
