  • Built-In T-Slot Rails: Both side rails carry a T-slot channel, so compatible racks, cargo holders, tents and similar accessories (all sold separately) slide in from the tailgate end and mount above the bed. Supplied T-slot end plugs, set with the included 1/8" Allen wrench, close the slots. TruXedo calls it the only soft cover built for truck racks.
  • Ultra Low Profile: Adding the slots doesn't raise the cover. The rails keep the X15's 15-degree angle, so it closes nearly flush with the bed rails, a profile TruXedo puts about 33% lower than the Lo Pro.
  • Rolls Open to the Cab: Pull the trigger latch on the driver side rail, roll the cover up to the cab and hook both retainer straps when you need the full bed. Closing is the reverse: roll it back and press the rear header into the header stops until it clicks.
  • Clamp-On, No Drilling: Six clamps hold the rails to the bed with nothing drilled or cut, and TruXedo rates the install Level 1, typically under 30 minutes. On 2022 and newer Tundras with the deck rail system, the clamps fit into that rail instead.
  • Self-Adjusting Tension Control: TruXedo's DriveTight tension control, preset at the factory, keeps the RTxTechWeave canvas tight as temperatures swing. The canvas is a textured five-layer, 120-grade composite, and spring plungers at the front header allow a small manual adjustment if it is ever needed.
  • Sealed at Front, Rear and Sides: Adhesive front corner seals, end plug seals at both ends of each rail, a front header seal that sits on the bulkhead and, on select trucks, a bulkhead seal work with RTxGrip hook-and-loop along both sides. TruXedo's sheet states plainly that the cover is not airtight.

Description & Fitment

Part 1272216 is the T-slot version of the Pro X15 for the 2014-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 and 2015-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 / GMC Sierra 2500/3500, 8'2" (97.8") bed. TruXedo calls it the only soft cover built for truck racks, and the rack itself is a separate purchase. For this TS version, the 2019 Legacy and Limited (2018 body) trucks are on the list. It clamps on with no drilling or cutting, and TruXedo puts the install under 30 minutes. Hook-and-loop RTxGrip strips hold the edges, and DriveTight keeps the middle tight. It rolls up to the cab for tall loads and straps there; closed, it latches at the tailgate end. Fabric and hardware carry TruXedo's limited lifetime warranty.

Check your bed: run a tape along the top of the bed rail, bulkhead to the inner face of the shut tailgate. This TS part is labeled 8'2", which is 97.8". Some catalogs list the same box as 8'.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the right Pro X15 TS for my Silverado or Sierra?

It is, for a 2014-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 and 2015-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 / GMC Sierra 2500/3500 whose bed is 8'2", measured along the rail from the bulkhead to the shut tailgate (97.8"). Other setups need another part: trucks in the 2019 new body and without the MultiPro or Multi-Flex tailgate (1272816), the 5'9" box (1271816) or the 6'7" box (1272016 or 1272616 or 1273516).

How can I tell my bed is the 8'2" box?

Tape it along the rail from the bulkhead to the shut tailgate. This TS part is the 8'2" box, and the 5'9" box TS part 1271816 is the alternative for this truck.

Does it come with a rack?

No. The Pro X15 TS gives you the T-slot rails and four end plugs; racks, crossbars, cargo holders and tents are separate purchases. Slide the accessory in from the rear of the rails, then refit the rear end plugs and tighten their set screws with the supplied 1/8" Allen wrench.

Which racks and accessories work with the T-slots?

TruXedo's T-Slot Accessory Fitment Guide rates 19 accessories for this cover: 5 work with full cover function (Yakima Eyebolts and LoadStop T-Slot, the Billie Bars hardware kit, and the Elevate Rack and Elevate Base Rack), 5 fit the slots but stop the cover from operating, and 9 don't fit. Ask us which racks keep the cover working before you buy one.

How is it different from the regular Pro X15?

Same idea, different rails. Both use RTxTechWeave canvas, DriveTight tension and 15-degree low-profile rails; the TS rails add a T-slot channel for accessories and come with four T-slot end plugs. If you will never mount anything above the bed, the regular Pro X15 does the same covering job.

Is it waterproof?

TruXedo's sheet states plainly that the cover is not airtight. Its seals and hook-and-loop shed most rain and snow; clean the mounting spots with soap, water and isopropyl alcohol before the adhesive seals go on, and expect some water to pool on top after rain, since the cross bows are flat. It runs off once you drive.

Here's the short version. Follow TruXedo's Pro X15 TS install sheet (below) for your truck's exact rail and seal positions.

  1. Seal the front corners. Make sure every mounting area is clean. Wash the bulkhead's front face with soap and water, wipe it with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry, then stick the two corner seals to the front corners and press them down evenly.
  2. Prep the T-slot rails. Clean the front end of each side rail the same way and stick on the front end plug seals. Push a T-slot end plug into the front of each rail and lock its set screw with the supplied 1/8" Allen wrench.
  3. Set and clamp the side rails. Lay the driver rail (it carries the trigger latch) inside the bed rail with its flange resting on the bed cap, front edge 3/8" back from the bulkhead. Fit three clamps from the middle out, about 8" in from each end, finger-tight so the teeth bite, then tighten with a 1/2" socket to 8 ft-lb (11 Nm). Keep the rail level with the bed cap: raise a clamp to tilt it up, lower it to tilt it down. Repeat on the passenger side.
  4. Seal the bulkhead and tailgate corners. If your kit has a bulkhead seal, clean the bulkhead's top edge and stick the seal across it from side to side, flush with the inside edge and tight against the rail end plug seals and bed cap, and trim the excess. Then clean the rear ends of both rails and stick on the rear end plug seals to keep water out at the tailgate corners.
  5. Attach and unroll the cover. Set the rolled cover on the rails at the cab with its front header seal resting on top of the bulkhead. Push both header guides into their locked spot until each one clicks, unhook the retainer straps and roll the cover to the tailgate. Seat the rear header in the header stops and rotate it down until it clicks.
  6. Finish and check. Pull the fabric flap over the hook track and press the loop strip in with your palms along both sides before you drive. Tension is set at the factory; if the cover feels loose, adjust the spring plungers in small steps during the warmest part of the day. Re-check the rail clamps after your first week of driving.

21 Honda Ridgeline

I purchased the soft roll up with T-slots and the elevate rack. Install was very easy, took about an 1 1/2hr but I went slow and have only installed one other soft cover before. I could see how it would be under an hour some someone more experienced. Very happy with the quality of the soft cover and the hook and loop velcro. The bars attached easily and seem sturdy. The only thing I needed was the 6 stock M6 screws for the trick bed. I will say that the cover release lever is on the left side and for the Ridgeline the tailgate will need to be dropped traditionally vs swinging it open to reach it, no biggie.

Gets the job done

Overall, install didn’t take too long but the design can be improved in a few areas. The front section didn’t fit great and I had to loosen and then retighten the tension screws to be able to get the mounting screws to attach. It was also tough to gauge where to place the extra rubber water strip so it didn’t interfere with the pad under the side rails. Finally, there is no way of adjusting how flat the side rails sit on the top of the bed cap. They tend to sit at an angle. This prevents a solid seal from forming underneath. I use the cover with cross bars most of the time so the weight of these helps to keep the side rails pushed down.

Truxedo Pro X15 soft roll-Up Tonneau Cover

I am very satisfied with this Tonneau Cover. Installation was very easy, 90% of the installation was by myself with only about a 1/2 hr. help needed from my wife. I would have given 5 stars but the cover has a few minor ripples in it. I did install this on a 35 degree day and am hopeful the ripples will go away when its warmer and I can pull and stretch the fabric a little more. A little water does get in the bed at the tailgate but I expected that. I would recommend this cover and I would buy it again.

I like the look, but painful troubleshooting

Spent hours, would not latch shut with the tailgate up on 2023 Ford F150 6. 5 bed. Turns out, the ridges on the bed side caps stopped about a foot before the end, which then would every so slightly warp the rails lower near the end. I eventually bought some rubber adhesive strips to compensate for that difference. I shouldn't have to do that nonsense to make this fit. Also the rubber seals on the latching end are warped on both ends and don't seem durable. For how much it is, I would expect more.

Great Rack…but…

Very well made and looks great. However, there’s no way to use locking nuts to secure the rack to the truck. The space only allows for the 5/16” cap nuts and nothing larger in diameter like a locking nut. Too easy to steal. Otherwise, it’s a well made accessory.

All you need

Was considering a hard roll up or retractable but settled on the soft roll up. My thought is if someone wants what's in my bed they will get it. I avoid leaving anything in the bad anyways. Those other covers are double and triple this one cost to do the same job with more bulk. Sleek look reasonable price. No one knows of you have something or not. I live in Flint Michigan and have no concerns of someone cutting into my cover to see if I have anything good inside. You probably shouldnt either.

I had watched install videos and none covered the install for a ridgeline but the included papers covered it well. Perfect.

Bought this for my 2025 Maverick Lariat. Product arrived when they said it would. No damage. Instructions easy to follow. Fits and works perfectly. Impressed with the seal at the tailgate - well designed. Being able to quickly removed the entire cover is huge plus. When crossing the Mackinac Bridge in very high winds they make you remove tonneau covers and have an empty truck bed. Easy to do with this feature. Suggestion - the seal on the underside of the t rail extended out a bit from the rail at the rear - interfering a bit with the trapezoidal seals you add after installing the rails. Trimmed excess off easily.

Pro X15 Roll-up Tonneau

This is my 3rd Pro X15. It does a good job protecting items in the bed, but it is not totally waterproof. Tailgate seal has been updated since my last cover, and now you close the tonneau before closing the tailgate. Super easy install. Mine arrived with tailgate seal slightly deformed but still functional, otherwise I’d give it 5 stars across the board.

Very nice but leaks a bit

I purchased the soft T-cover with T-slot rails and the adjustable racks. It took about a half day to install them. They all look to be good quality and the installation was straight forward. The only issue has been that the cover appears to be about a half inch short for my 2021 6-foot 1-inch Ranger SuperCab, as the cover slightly overlap the inner edges of the forward rail and tailgate when deployed. That means that I get a few drops to a half cup of water whenever there is significant rain. I added an extra length of weather stripping aft, but there is still a little leak.
