TruXedo TruXport Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover for 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 and 2007-2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 / GMC Sierra 2500/3500 (6'7" Bed)
The TruXedo TruXport draws gloss RTxVinyl over flat bows and pins it down with multi-tiered RTxGrip hook-and-loop that bites along the entire length of both side rails. A spring-loaded SureTension mechanism pulls the slack out by itself as the weather swings through the year, leaving nothing for you to set by hand, and two slam latches take hold of the tailgate header with a click on each side as the cover comes down. Send it forward to the cab, buckle both retainer straps, and you have the box open end to end. Part number 271101 covers the 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 and 2007-2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 / GMC Sierra 2500/3500, 6'7" (78.7") box.

Features
Tension You Never Set by Hand The SureTension control system is a spring-loaded mechanism built into the cover rather than a strap or a turnbuckle, and it takes up slack on its own as the temperature moves through the year. Expect the vinyl to read a little relaxed on a cold morning and drum tight on a hot afternoon. That is the mechanism doing its job, and there is nothing for you to adjust in either direction.
Hook-and-Loop Down Both Rails TruXedo's RTxGrip fastening is hook-and-loop built up in tiers, and it grips along the entire run of both side rails instead of a handful of patches near the ends. Press it down with the flat of your hand along both sides every time you close the cover. That one habit is what stops the edge lifting at speed, and TruXedo asks you to redo it part way through a long trip.
Two Slam Latches, No Reaching The tailgate header hooks into a stop on each side of the bed, and two latches engage by themselves as you push the header down, each with an audible click. Both have to click. If one will not, the side rails are usually sitting too far apart or are not level front to back, and squaring them up is the fix rather than forcing the header.
Gloss Vinyl Made for Sun RTxVinyl is a marine-grade gloss vinyl that TruXedo builds against UV and tearing rather than for showroom looks. It is the surface you are choosing at this end of the range: easy to wipe down with soap and water, and built to hold its finish rather than chalk out after a couple of summers.
Flat Bows and Standing Water The cross bows sit flat rather than arched, and that is what gives the closed cover its low, flush look. TruXedo's own answer to the question that always follows is worth having before you buy: some water will stand on top after heavy rain and it sheds as soon as you drive. Re-tightening the hook-and-loop down the length of the bed keeps that puddle small.
Opens From Either Side The current TruXport opens in one motion from either side of the tailgate using a grab handle at the rear corner, so you are not walking around the truck to find the correct side. TruGuide controls keep the roll traveling straight as it goes forward, and two retainer straps hold it against the cab. Rolled and strapped, the full length of the box is open.

Fit guidance: Fits the 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / GMC Sierra 1500 and 2007-2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 / GMC Sierra 2500/3500 with the 6'7" (78.7") bed, which Chevrolet markets as its "6'6" Standard Box". The TruXport is cut for one truck and one box length, so this part number is the one for this combination; a different bed on the same truck takes a different cover.

Installation
Type: Clamp-on, no drilling Β Β·Β Time: 30 minutes or less Β Β·Β Tools: 1/2" wrench or socket; scissors or a utility knife and isopropyl alcohol are recommended Β Β·Β Difficulty: Level 1, one person
Clean the seal areas with soap and water, wipe them with isopropyl alcohol and let them dry before the cab corner seals go on. The cover assembly sits on the bulkhead facing the cab, the side rails drop onto the truck's bed rails with their corner plugs inserted into the front header, and three clamps a side are finger-tightened first, front one as far forward as it will go and rear one as far back. Square the assembly over the bed opening, then unroll to the tailgate and check the gap between the tailgate header and each side rail is 1/16" per side. TruXedo calls for 7 ft-lb (9 Nm) at the clamps, in three passes: tailgate first, then center, then cab. The tailgate corner seals go on last, onto a surface cleaned the same way. Nothing is cut and nothing is drilled.

TruXport Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover Installation Sheet (PDF), TruXedo's own installation sheet for the TruXport. It is a series document covering the applications that do not have a truck-specific sheet, so the steps are shared across trucks and the rails you receive are already cut for yours.
Warranty, Shipping & Returns
Warranty. Five years covering the hard parts, and another five covering the fabric, both running from the retail purchase date against faults in material or workmanship. TruXedo asks for a dated receipt, will not move the term to a second owner, and stands behind a cover only when it came from a dealer the brand recognizes; its published text goes as far as naming eBay and unauthorized internet sellers, warning that what arrives from them may be secondhand, faulty or missing pieces. This store is one of those recognized dealers. The written conditions that end the term early are short, and they are exactly the ones owners trip over. Wash it with mild automotive soap and water and a soft bristle brush, and keep conditioners off the vinyl, because a conditioner shrinks it. Never set off with the cover half open, and buckle both retainer straps whenever it is rolled at the cab. Keep loads off the top and off the framework. And leave the latch assembly alone; it arrives already set to its correct tension, and adjusting it ends the term. One thing TruXedo does permit, and many soft-cover brands do not, is running the cover through an automatic car wash.
Free shipping. Stock usually clears the warehouse inside 1 to 2 business days. This is a parcel item rather than an LTL shipment, so there is no lift-gate fee to pay and no delivery appointment to arrange around.
Inspect on delivery. Cut the carton open while the driver is still with you and run your eye over the rails, both latches and the vinyl. Transit damage written onto the receipt at the moment of handover is what turns a replacement around quickly; the same damage reported a week later is a far slower conversation.
Returns. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, return shipping is on us. See our Returns & Refunds Policy, or email support@prestigetruck.com with any question.
About TruXedo
TruXedo puts its covers together in Yankton, South Dakota, working in soft vinyl and in hard slatted form. A warranty here belongs to whoever bought the cover first, needs a dated receipt behind it, and only stands where the cover came from a dealer the brand recognizes. TruXedo is unusually direct about that last point in its own text, warning that a cover sourced through eBay or an unauthorized internet seller may be secondhand, faulty or missing pieces and may carry no coverage whatever. Buying from a recognized dealer is what keeps the term real.
TruXport is the entry point to the TruXedo range and the model the brand sells most of. Each step above it changes one thing. The Lo Pro drops its rails inside the bed for a lower line; the Pro X15 trades vinyl for the brand's RTxTechWeave canvas to quiet the ride; the Pro X15 TS adds T-slot rails so a rack can go over a closed bed; the Deuce folds its front section forward as well as rolling; and the Sentry and Sentry CT replace fabric over bows with interlocking aluminum slats that lock. TruXport keeps the vinyl and the clamp-on rails and puts its money into the tension system and the latches.
Two materials carry the whole range. Industrial vinyl, which is what you are buying here, and further up the line a technical canvas the brand weaves itself. Both sit on aluminum framing, and on all but a handful of parts that framing clamps to the box without a hole going anywhere near the truck. The patents TruXedo holds sit in the tensioning and the closures, and they are there so the surface stays flat by itself rather than asking for a seasonal adjustment.

What generation two changed
TruXport's SureTension mechanism is a spring inside the cover that keeps the vinyl pulled flat on its own, through cold mornings and hot afternoons, with nothing for anyone to reach for. Generation two kept that and rebuilt the rest around it: a grab handle at each rear corner so the cover opens from whichever side you happen to be standing on, TruGuide controls that keep the roll traveling straight, and stronger clamps and bolts underneath.

Roll it back, load it up
Release the handle, run the cover forward to the cab and clip both retainer straps, and the box is open over its whole length. That is the difference between lifting a load over the side rail and dropping it straight in over the tailgate, and it takes one hand and a few seconds in either direction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Does it keep the bed dry in bad weather?
It sheds rain and snow well. No TruXedo product is described as waterproof by the company that builds it, so we are not going to describe this one that way either, and the brand's own safety notes go further: the cover is not airtight, and anything in the box that has to stay clean and dry needs looking after. In an ordinary shower the vinyl and the corner seals do their job. Leave it out in a long, heavy storm, or point a pressure washer at the seal line, and some damp finds a way through, which is true of every soft roll-up on the market. Put anything that genuinely cannot get wet into a bag or a case first.
Why does water sit on top of the cover after it rains?
Because the bows underneath are built to lie flat rather than to arch, and that flatness is where the low, level look of the closed cover comes from. TruXedo publishes the answer itself: a puddle after heavy rain is normal, and it runs off once the truck is moving. If it sits deeper than you like, go back along both side rails and press the hook-and-loop home again. A surface pulled properly tight leaves the water far less room to gather.
Will it stay latched at highway speed?
It will once the rails are set right, and this is the one part of the fit worth taking time over. The tailgate header hooks into a stop on each side and two latches engage on their own, each with an audible click, and both have to click. If a latch will not catch, the rails are almost always too far apart, too close, or not level front to back. Set them so the header sits about 1/16" clear of each rail, then close the cover and press the hook-and-loop down the full length of both sides with the flat of your hand. Redo that step every time you close it and part way through a long trip, because a lifted edge at the rail is what lets wind get under the cover.
Does fitting it mean drilling holes in the truck?
For almost the whole TruXport range, no. The rails clamp onto the bed, nothing gets cut or permanently changed, and the cover comes straight back off when you sell the truck. One part is the exception and you should hear it from us rather than find it in the box: the version built for the Ram 1500 with the RamBox cargo system, part number 284901. That one bolts to the truck's own cargo rails, and the sheet TruXedo writes for it puts a 5/8" drill bit and drill on its required tools list. If that is your truck, its page spells this out under Installation and links the sheet so you can read it first. Nothing else in the range needs a drill.
Does the TruXport lock?
No. It latches shut at the tailgate, and with the tailgate itself locked the box is closed off from a casual hand, but the top is vinyl and there is no lock in it. TruXedo puts the same warning in its own safety notes: a tonneau cover will not stop someone taking what is in the box. If locking the bed is the reason you are shopping, the models to look at are the Sentry and the Sentry CT, which are hard covers with a proper key. Paying less here and knowing exactly what you get is a fair trade; being surprised by it later is not.
What does the 5-year warranty actually cover, and what ends it?
Five years on the hard parts, five years on the fabric, against faults in material or workmanship, held by whoever bought it first and only where it came from a dealer TruXedo recognizes. Keep the dated receipt. What ends the term early is a short, specific list. Wash it with mild automotive soap and water and a soft brush, and keep conditioners away from the vinyl, since a conditioner shrinks it; an automatic car wash, unusually, is allowed. Never set off with the cover half open, and buckle both straps when it is rolled at the cab. Never stand anything on it or tie a load to its framework. And leave the latch assembly as it arrives, because it is set at the factory and adjusting it cancels the cover.
