The TruXedo TruXport draws gloss RTxVinyl over flat bows and pins it down with multi-tiered RTxGrip hook-and-loop that bites along the entire length of both side rails. A spring-loaded SureTension mechanism pulls the slack out by itself as the weather swings through the year, leaving nothing for you to set by hand, and two slam latches take hold of the tailgate header with a click on each side as the cover comes down. Send it forward to the cab, buckle both retainer straps, and you have the box open end to end. Part number 257101 covers the 2024-2026 Toyota Tacoma, 6'2" (73.5") box.

Features
Tension You Never Set by Hand
The SureTension control system is a spring-loaded mechanism built into the cover rather than a strap or a turnbuckle, and it takes up slack on its own as the temperature moves through the year. Expect the vinyl to read a little relaxed on a cold morning and drum tight on a hot afternoon. That is the mechanism doing its job, and there is nothing for you to adjust in either direction.
Hook-and-Loop Down Both Rails
TruXedo's RTxGrip fastening is hook-and-loop built up in tiers, and it grips along the entire run of both side rails instead of a handful of patches near the ends. Press it down with the flat of your hand along both sides every time you close the cover. That one habit is what stops the edge lifting at speed, and TruXedo asks you to redo it part way through a long trip.
Two Slam Latches, No Reaching
The tailgate header hooks into a stop on each side of the bed, and two latches engage by themselves as you push the header down, each with an audible click. Both have to click. If one will not, the side rails are usually sitting too far apart or are not level front to back, and squaring them up is the fix rather than forcing the header.
Gloss Vinyl Made for Sun
RTxVinyl is a marine-grade gloss vinyl that TruXedo builds against UV and tearing rather than for showroom looks. It is the surface you are choosing at this end of the range: easy to wipe down with soap and water, and built to hold its finish rather than chalk out after a couple of summers.
Flat Bows and Standing Water
The cross bows sit flat rather than arched, and that is what gives the closed cover its low, flush look. TruXedo's own answer to the question that always follows is worth having before you buy: some water will stand on top after heavy rain and it sheds as soon as you drive. Re-tightening the hook-and-loop down the length of the bed keeps that puddle small.
Opens From Either Side
The current TruXport opens in one motion from either side of the tailgate using a grab handle at the rear corner, so you are not walking around the truck to find the correct side. TruGuide controls keep the roll traveling straight as it goes forward, and two retainer straps hold it against the cab. Rolled and strapped, the full length of the box is open.
Fitment & Compatibility
Fit guidance: Fits the 2024-2026 Toyota Tacoma with the 6'2" (73.5") bed. The manufacturer lists this part as: installation requires the factory deck rail system; if the truck has no deck rail system, one can be bought from Toyota. The TruXport is cut for one truck and one box length, so this part number is the one for this combination; a different bed on the same truck takes a different cover.

Installation
Type: Clamp-on, no drilling · Time: 30 minutes or less · Tools: 1/2" wrench or socket, 3/8" ratchet drive; scissors or a utility knife and isopropyl alcohol are recommended · Difficulty: Level 1, one person
The current Tacoma has its own installation sheet and its own kit, which adds a bulkhead seal and a pair of corner support block seals to the usual cab and tailgate corner seals. The rails clamp to the bed and nothing is cut or drilled. TruXedo specifies 7 ft-lb (9 Nm) on the rail clamps. Clean every seal location with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry before the adhesive goes down, then set the rails square before you close the cover for the first time.

Warranty, Shipping & Returns
Warranty. Five years covering the hard parts, and another five covering the fabric, both running from the retail purchase date against faults in material or workmanship. TruXedo asks for a dated receipt, will not move the term to a second owner, and stands behind a cover only when it came from a dealer the brand recognizes; its published text goes as far as naming eBay and unauthorized internet sellers, warning that what arrives from them may be secondhand, faulty or missing pieces. This store is one of those recognized dealers. The written conditions that end the term early are short, and they are exactly the ones owners trip over. Wash it with mild automotive soap and water and a soft bristle brush, and keep conditioners off the vinyl, because a conditioner shrinks it. Never set off with the cover half open, and buckle both retainer straps whenever it is rolled at the cab. Keep loads off the top and off the framework. And leave the latch assembly alone; it arrives already set to its correct tension, and adjusting it ends the term. One thing TruXedo does permit, and many soft-cover brands do not, is running the cover through an automatic car wash.
Free shipping. Stock usually clears the warehouse inside 1 to 2 business days. This is a parcel item rather than an LTL shipment, so there is no lift-gate fee to pay and no delivery appointment to arrange around.
Inspect on delivery. Cut the carton open while the driver is still with you and run your eye over the rails, both latches and the vinyl. Transit damage written onto the receipt at the moment of handover is what turns a replacement around quickly; the same damage reported a week later is a far slower conversation.
Returns. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, return shipping is on us. See our Returns & Refunds Policy, or email support@prestigetruck.com with any question.
About TruXedo
TruXedo puts its covers together in Yankton, South Dakota, working in soft vinyl and in hard slatted form. A warranty here belongs to whoever bought the cover first, needs a dated receipt behind it, and only stands where the cover came from a dealer the brand recognizes. TruXedo is unusually direct about that last point in its own text, warning that a cover sourced through eBay or an unauthorized internet seller may be secondhand, faulty or missing pieces and may carry no coverage whatever. Buying from a recognized dealer is what keeps the term real.
TruXport is the entry point to the TruXedo range and the model the brand sells most of. Each step above it changes one thing. The Lo Pro drops its rails inside the bed for a lower line; the Pro X15 trades vinyl for the brand's RTxTechWeave canvas to quiet the ride; the Pro X15 TS adds T-slot rails so a rack can go over a closed bed; the Deuce folds its front section forward as well as rolling; and the Sentry and Sentry CT replace fabric over bows with interlocking aluminum slats that lock. TruXport keeps the vinyl and the clamp-on rails and puts its money into the tension system and the latches.
Two materials carry the whole range. Industrial vinyl, which is what you are buying here, and further up the line a technical canvas the brand weaves itself. Both sit on aluminum framing, and on all but a handful of parts that framing clamps to the box without a hole going anywhere near the truck. The patents TruXedo holds sit in the tensioning and the closures, and they are there so the surface stays flat by itself rather than asking for a seasonal adjustment.
