This is a purpose-built variant, not a general-purpose winch, and it is worth saying so first: the ZEON XC 12-S for Fully Hidden Kits exists to fit inside Warn's Fully Hidden Winch Mounts, and buying it without one of those mounts is almost certainly the wrong purchase. Warn narrowed the standard XC 12-S by 2.5" with a short-drum configuration, rotated the transmission forward 144 degrees so the clutch lever stays reachable once the winch is buried behind the bumper, and shipped it with a shortened hawse fairlead and a 6' remote socket relocation harness so the plug can live somewhere you can actually get to. The result is 12,000 lb of single-line pull that vanishes completely behind a factory-looking front end. Everything mechanical is standard premium ZEON XC: a 176:1 reduction through a 3-stage planetary geartrain, a Warn-exclusive low-profile Albright contactor, an automatic six-segment cone brake, and IP68 and IP69K sealing throughout. It carries 70' of 3/8" Spydura Pro synthetic rope on the shortened drum. Engineered, tested and assembled in Clackamas, Oregon.

Features
Built for Warn's Fully Hidden Winch Mounts This is the winch Warn's Fully Hidden Winch Mount kits are designed around. It is 2.5" narrower than a standard ZEON XC 12-S thanks to a short-drum configuration, which is what lets the whole assembly sit behind a factory-looking bumper with nothing showing. If you are not fitting one of those mounts, the standard ZEON XC 12-S is the winch you want instead.
Transmission Rotated 144 Degrees for Clutch Access The clutch lever is the one control you physically have to reach, and on a fully hidden install that is exactly the problem. Warn rotated the transmission forward 144 degrees so the lever ends up somewhere you can get a hand to with the bumper in place. It is the detail that makes a hidden winch usable rather than just tidy.
Remote Socket Relocation Harness Included A 6' harness moves the remote socket out from behind the bumper to somewhere accessible, so plugging in the corded remote does not mean lying under the truck. It is in the box on this SKU rather than being an accessory purchase.
12,000 lb, With Honest Pull-by-Layer Numbers Rated 12,000 lb on the first drum layer, then 9,895 lb, 8,418 lb, 7,325 lb and 6,483 lb across layers two to five. The short drum is why this SKU carries 70' of rope rather than the 80' on the standard 12-S: less drum width, same commitment to keeping the layer count sensible.
70' of Spydura Pro Synthetic Rope The 3/8" Spydura Pro line carries an abrasion sleeve and heat-resistant inner wraps, running over a shortened black aluminum hawse fairlead sized to match the narrower drum. Synthetic is the right choice for a hidden install: it is light enough to pull out by hand from an awkward position under the bumper.
Standard ZEON XC Hardware Underneath A 176:1 reduction through a 3-stage planetary geartrain, a Warn-exclusive low-profile Albright contactor with bus bars, an automatic six-segment mechanical cone brake, a rotating ring gear clutch, and O-ring sealing rated IP68 for submersion and IP69K for high-pressure spray. Nothing about the hidden-kit variant downgrades the winch.
Satin-Black Powder Coat, OEM-Grade Fasteners Corrosion-resistant black fasteners and the satin-black powder coat are specified to 408 hours of salt spray, which matters for a winch that lives permanently behind a bumper where it is hard to inspect.
Fitment & Compatibility
Application
Fit
Warn Fully Hidden Winch Mount kits
✓ Yes, this winch is designed specifically for them
Late-model full-size trucks keeping a factory-look front bumper
✓ Yes, via the matching Warn hidden mount
Standard winch bumpers and open winch plates
✗ Not the right choice, buy the standard ZEON XC 12-S (110512) instead
Third-party hidden winch mounts
● Check with the mount maker first, this winch's short drum and rotated transmission are dimensioned for Warn's own kits
Half-ton and 3/4-ton trucks by capacity
✓ Yes, 12,000 lb is the right size for a loaded half-ton or a 3/4-ton
Fit guidance: IMPORTANT: this is a mount-specific variant. It is the winch Warn's Fully Hidden Winch Mount kits are built around, narrowed 2.5" against a standard ZEON XC 12-S with the transmission rotated 144 degrees forward for clutch access. The hidden mount kit itself is a separate purchase and is what determines vehicle fitment. If you are mounting to a conventional winch bumper or winch plate, buy the standard ZEON XC 12-S (110512) instead: it costs less, carries 80' of rope rather than 70', and is the correct shape for an open mount. Warn's sizing guidance is roughly 1.5 times your vehicle's loaded weight, so 12,000 lb covers rigs up to about 8,000 lb.

Installation
Type: Installs into a Warn Fully Hidden Winch Mount kit; wiring direct to the battery · Time: Longer than a conventional winch install, budget most of a day with the hidden mount kit · Tools: Metric socket set, torque wrench, battery terminal wrench, trim tools for bumper removal; a second person · Difficulty: Advanced, because the hidden mount usually requires removing and reworking the front bumper and its supports
Follow the instructions supplied with the Warn Fully Hidden Winch Mount kit, which is what determines the sequence for your vehicle. Two things are specific to this winch: fit the 6' remote socket relocation harness and route the socket somewhere genuinely reachable before the bumper goes back on, and check the clutch lever position, which the 144-degree transmission rotation is there to make accessible. Route the battery leads clear of the exhaust and any moving steering or suspension components. Because everything ends up out of sight, cycle the winch in and out under no load and confirm free spool works from the finished position before you call the job done.

About Warn
Warn Industries has been building vehicle recovery equipment since 1948, when the company's locking hub turned surplus military Jeeps into usable civilian vehicles. Winches followed, and for most of the last half-century a Warn winch has been the default answer on a truck bumper. Warn designs, tests and assembles its premium winches at its own ISO-quality facility in Clackamas, Oregon, and publishes real performance data, including line speed and motor current at every load point and pulling capacity at every drum layer, rather than a single headline number.
The ZEON XC is the compact member of that premium family, built on the ZEON XD foundation but reshaped around a low-profile control box that sits below the winch tie plate. This SKU takes that idea to its conclusion. Warn developed its Fully Hidden Winch Mounts to put a real recovery winch behind an unmodified-looking front bumper on late-model trucks, and this short-drum XC 12-S is the winch those mounts are designed around: narrower by 2.5", with the transmission rotated 144 degrees forward for clutch access and a relocation harness for the remote socket. It carries the same limited lifetime mechanical warranty and seven-year electrical warranty as the rest of the ZEON XC line, through a global service network.
Prestige Truck is an authorized Warn dealer. Every winch we ship is new, factory-sealed, covered by the full Warn factory warranty, and supported by Warn's US-based service team and parts supply.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Do I need a Warn Fully Hidden Winch Mount to use this?
Effectively yes. This winch is dimensioned for those kits: 2.5" narrower than a standard ZEON XC 12-S, with the transmission rotated 144 degrees so the clutch lever is reachable behind a bumper. On a conventional winch bumper or open winch plate you gain nothing and give up 10' of rope. Buy the standard ZEON XC 12-S (110512) for those installs.
Why only 70' of rope?
The short drum. Narrowing the winch by 2.5" means a narrower drum, and Warn keeps the layer count sensible rather than winding more rope onto fewer wraps, because pulling power falls as layers build: 12,000 lb on the first layer down to 6,483 lb on the fifth. Seventy feet is what fits properly.
How do I reach the clutch if the winch is hidden?
That is what the 144-degree transmission rotation is for. Warn turned the gear end forward so the clutch lever ends up in a position you can reach with the bumper in place. Confirm the lever position during installation, before the bumper goes back on, because it is the one control you cannot operate remotely on an XC.
How does the remote plug in if everything is behind the bumper?
A 6' remote socket relocation harness is included. Run it during the install and put the socket somewhere you can reach standing up. It is the difference between a hidden winch you use and a hidden winch you resent.
Which trucks does this fit?
The winch is universal; the Warn Fully Hidden Winch Mount kit is what makes it vehicle-specific, and that kit is a separate purchase. Choose the hidden mount for your exact year, make and model first, then this winch to go inside it. Warn's photography shows the system installed behind the factory bumper of a current-generation Ford F-150 as one example.
Is it as capable as a normal ZEON XC 12-S?
Mechanically it is the same winch: 176:1 geartrain, low-profile Albright contactor control, automatic six-segment cone brake, IP68 and IP69K sealing, and the same 12,000 lb first-layer rating with the same pull-by-layer curve. The only compromises are the 70' rope length and the fact that it needs the matching hidden mount.

Look is great. 100 lbs
Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

A must have
I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.

The toolbox is nice. I
The toolbox is nice. I think Ill get a lot of years of service out of it. I like how the lid opens and the tie downs are a nice touch. It seems to be well built. And tough. Im pleased with my purchase and would buy another one.
